Everything was…read moregreat until they got halfway through putting foils in my hair, I had been wanting to go blonde and had started with relatively light hair so it seemed like an easy job, and I realized it wasn't what we had talked about before. Instead of the full foil I wanted they had given me silver/grey highlights which looked horrible with my original hair color. I told them I didn't like it and we tried to fix it which just made my hair orange. I ended up walking up to pay with tears in my eyes where I was met with the manager micaela, all she said was I should be happy they didn't charge for the stuff they tried to fix it with. I payed the 200 and left crying after spending 8 hours in there, later I called and talked to micaela on the phone basically saying it's nothing like what I wanted and she said that she has a no refund policy, which I understand, but that she could redo it free of charge. I made it clear that I lived in Charlotte for college so I didn't know when I'd be able to come back and she said that was fine just let her know. So fast forward about a month, I'm aware it had been awhile but being a full time worker and a student I didn't exactly have time to just go whenever. I called knowing I'd be in town for three days and told the person who answered that I was told I could get my hair redone so we booked the appointment. Obviously I thought that we were clear that it was being redone for free. I got all the way to the end and I absolutely loved my hair but that's when it all went downhill. Basically when I said that I was told I could get it redone the lady, Tiffany, who was absolutely wonderful by the way, said she was going to call her manager micalea just to make sure. Keep in mind micalea had been there the whole time I was there and had come up and talked to us but had left about 30 minutes before I was done. Long story short she basically said that I wasn't getting it for free because I had waited too long and that she had a seven day policy for redos. Honestly I get the policy but the thing is, I had made it very clear that I didn't live here so it might take longer for me to be able to get down there which she was fine with, along with that I was never told of any seven day policy when I talked to her. She repeatedly blamed me for miscommunication and said that I could either pay or she would report me for theft. The whole thing was so unprofessional and she was so rude, there were no apologies for her not being clear about her policy or anything. I don't understand how someone can be this unprofessional and I feel bad for the other girls who work there because they are the sweetest.

While I was in her chair she said, "there's just one little spot that didn't tone that I'm gonna fix or it'll drive me crazy." She assured me that I probably wouldn't have even noticed it. I only saw it after her attempt to fix it but it was a very large horizontal orange bleed mark from the foils. This is NOT something that happens with experienced stylists. I pointed out that it was still there after she tried to quickly style my hair and ask what I thought. She said, "Okay honey, I'm gonna just do a little root smudge with a level 8. You're a level 8." I'm a level 6 at best. She proceeded to cover only this area with color and then after washing that off, that section of my scalp was extremely brassy and the line was still there. I pointed out both of these things and she told me to go outside because it would look better in different lighting. It still looked bad. I HAD TO TELL HER HOW TO DO HER OWN JOB. I told her to root smudge with a level 6, and all over, not just one section. She did and this finally got rid of the line but my hair is still so brassy. She proceeded to give me the worst hair cut of my life. The first 4" of my head is just long, chunky, uneven pieces of hair that won't stay back when I pull my hair back. I don't typically cry over hair but I am devastated. I can't pull it back to hide it or anything. And this woman was expensive. Over $200 (almost $300 after tip) and I've never looked worse. I texted her and she explained that it looks better in certain lighting. That's not normal and I understand how lighting works. Just don't go here. I can't believe I even tipped her but I was there for 4.5 hours and exhausted and I felt pressured because I am not confrontational and I had already insisted that she fix my hair which is very out of character for me but it was THAT bad. She also weirdly tried to bring up how she doesn't want to be catfished by trans people (I'm not a trans person and I don't even understand where this came from other than the fact that she was saying she's glad she doesn't have to date today ??). This comment was so uncalled for. I was flabbergasted honestly. Regardless, I'd guess there's a reason you don't see my before and after posted on the salon page. My scalp is still so sore from all of the processing and now I don't have the money to have someone fix it. Just do not go here. I feel sick every time I see my hair or feel these weird layers. Worst hair experience of my life. No idea how this salon got best of the best anything. Including a photo of my inspo pic because I know the owner will respond here as she did on my Google review.
