Estimated to $2,000.00. Dr. Loflin had moved and I didn't know where his new office was. Luckily, I was thrilled to locate him. I went back to see him. He took X-rays of my tooth from every side, with a lot of attention. My tooth had no damage. I did not need the work. He could have agreed with the other, done unnecessary work and scam me out of $2,000.00. I know that he cares about me and does his best for me. I've sent a few people to him and they all "love" him. I would not recommend this practice…read more Before scheduling my appointment, I specifically called the office to confirm that they accepted my MetLife PPO dental insurance. I was told that they did, and I was explicitly assured that if there were any reason my insurance would not cover the services, the office would let me know before I came in. Their website also indicates that they accept MetLife PPO. I also specifically asked about the cost of the services beforehand. During my appointment, the dental hygienist was supposed to inform me about an additional $395 charge but "forgot." I was only informed about this charge when I went to check out. At that point, I was pressured to pay the $395 and was repeatedly assured that my dental insurance would cover 80-100% of the costs. I have now found out that the claim was submitted as out-of-network, despite my having specifically confirmed my insurance status with the office beforehand, and my insurance ultimately covered none of the $395. What is most frustrating is that I made a point of calling ahead specifically to avoid exactly this situation. Had I been told that the provider was out-of-network or that I could potentially be responsible for hundreds of dollars, I would not have proceeded with the treatment. Patients deserve accurate information about both insurance network status and out-of-pocket costs before treatment, not a surprise $395 charge at checkout followed by assurances that insurance will cover it when that turns out not to be the case. I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled and will be telling my friends, family, and anyone I know looking for a dentist not to use this practice. I will be filing a formal complaint with the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker protection as well as the Better Business Bureau over these fraudulent and misleading practices.

The free tooth whitening did absolutely nothing but they claimed it did by inaccurately identifying both my before and my after shades. Additionally, the dentist claimed to find three cavities and wanted to drill and fill them. I'm 53 and have never had a cavity in my life and just saw my regular dentist a month ago. What are the odds I suddenly got my first three cavities in the last month. I did not let them drill my teeth.

Though busy with other patients, Dr. Mim found the time to extract said tooth that same session knowing I was in pain and going out of town in several days. They both followed up and called me to see how I was doing after the surgery and provided medication to see me through a couple of tough days post op. Two weeks after surgery went in for post op exam and almost totally healed up with no complications. Their pricing is modest and in line with such procedures on the UES. The office staff is very professional but treats you in a relaxed, personal way , much as the dentists do during exam and procedures.
