We tried a few places but nothing compared to the warmth and talent of the awesome teachers and company coaches of Studio650 (formerly CDBN). Six years later, I would never change our decision and my girls are thriving and happy on their company teams and have made the best friends. Most of all, we feel blessed that the girls have so many teammates to look up to and who look out for one another. The team and parent-coach camaraderie is amazing. A true gem in the cut-throat Menlo Park/Palo Alto area.

If you want your child to…read morestart with a great foundation in technique and the discipline needed to excel at dance, then this studio will be a match for your family. The main focus of this studio is ballet, including contemporary and pointe. The studio uses the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum and students have the opportunity (but are not required) to take the RAD annual exams. The studio also offers other styles of dance including tap, hip hop, lyrical, jazz, and acro, for a well-rounded dancer, with a focus on technique and performance quality. In addition to recitals, the studio offers extra performance opportunities on the dance team and through its association with Menlowe Ballet, the professional company that rehearses in their studios. Last year, the studio ownership changed and they brought in a new billing system that makes automated payments easy. They also send helpful email newsletters to families about upcoming recitals, exams and dance-related events. I've found the new staff to be very responsive to emailed questions. Plus, the other parents are helpful in answering questions for families who are new to studio.

At pickup, my daughter is joking and laughing with friends not wanting to leave. Nadeen and all the teachers inspire and invigorate their students--highlighting the importance of confidence and believing in themselves--all the while motivating them to do their best and achieve excellence. The choreography and range of technique is amazing. More importantly, the social emotional learning is very special - especially in dance. The recitals are so so well put together, with professional sound, lighting, costume, and choreography, which is surreal considering that it organizes hundreds of kids into so many back-to-back ~3 minute dances. Luna also feels like a space for inclusion whether the kids are rapidly advancing in skills and there to be with friends and have fun. My daughter has done 4 recitals, and I've done 8 (in the adult hip hop class). We've loved every minute and can't recommend it enough!

I wanted to learn something new and meet people, and after four months of salsa classes, it's been a tremendous experience. The studio itself is cozy, welcoming, and has a nice, spacious wooden dance floor that makes learning comfortable and fun. The instructors are highly skilled, great communicators, and genuinely fun to learn from. Every class is engaging and well-paced, and there's always a few good laughs! I've also met a lot of friendly and encouraging classmates, which has made the studio feel like a real community. It's a very comfortable environment. I really appreciate how the classes are structured. We start with a quick icebreaker, move into learning a routine (often with shines), and end with social dancing. Rotating partners throughout class is a huge plus as it gives you experience dancing with different styles and skill levels and helps you grow faster. Beyond classes, the studio hosts fun events like weekly Saturday social dancing, with styles rotating throughout the month (for example, salsa on the second Saturday). I also attended their Winter Gala earlier this month and was blown away by the performances. It truly felt like watching a live episode of Dancing with the Stars. Whether you're a complete beginner looking to try something new and meet great people, or an advanced dancer wanting to level up, I highly recommend checking out Luna Del Soul.

Okay, as far as I know, it's the only place that offers adult contemporary. Luckily, it's a great class. Adrienne Foley is a beautiful, relevant, and attentive instructor. I am thrilled to have found her class at Zohar. Kristine Elliott's ballet class was challenging and fun. Unfortunately, I'm usually unavailable during her classes. After Adrienne's class on Mondays, a group of flamencos wait to start their class. It's so great to have a studio nearby with several options of dance styles. The studio is down the long drive off of Middlefield and left, once you get to the parking lot. Parking can get hairy at 6pm (parents picking up their kiddos), but if the large lot fills up, there's plenty of street parking.

We had already been dancing for ~4 years before moving, so finding a studio with great instructors and community was very important to us. Fortunately, we quickly found that here! The instructors are incredibly talented, welcoming, and full of positive energy. We especially love working with Nuriya and Alex - They've helped take our dancing to the next level while making every lesson fun and engaging. The private lesson packages also include group classes and practice parties, which are a fantastic way to keep improving, meet new people, and become part of the studio community. They also host fun events with neighboring Arthur Murray locations, creating an even larger and more vibrant dance community. I highly recommend Arthur Murray Redwood City! The instructors take the time to understand your goals and tailor the experience to fit what you're looking for. From wedding dances and social dancing to competitive training, they have experience across a wide range of styles and skill levels. The studio is welcoming to both individuals and couples, and creates a fun, supportive environment where everyone can continue learning and growing as dancers.

The teachers are the most amazing humans who truly care about your kid and have a great balance of cheering them on and guiding them to their best potential. I adore every single one of them.
