The atmosphere was lacking this last time, perhaps the lack of any Italians in front of house spoiled it for me. The starters are always at a high standard and this time the Gamberoni did not underachieve. Similarly the main of pork scallopini in a porcini sauce delivered well although the amount of actual porcini used was pitiful, instead padded out with button mushrooms. The wine list is not as extensive as you might expect, there are a few examples of good wines in there however but nothing too special which is okay considering location. I really did want to rate this place higher but against it's local contemporaries it still deserves a four star but this is more a slight against the others than the height of San Marco.

It has friendly, experienced staff and a great wine list of authentic Italian wines. The food is excellent and if you stick to pasta and pizza very reasonably priced. Downside is the prices of the meat dishes. The alcohol is charged at resturant prices so can push up the bill as well. The opening times shocked me as last time we went it was only open until 9.30pm so if you plan on going ring and check the evening opening times so you are not disappointed.

The food is competitively priced with other restaurants in the area, but the portions are generous, with a wonderful menu that will have you struggling to make a choice quickly, and quality is unrivalled! I wouldn't only recommend this restaurant, but advise anyone in, or visiting Filey to enjoy a dining experience here! Fantastic!!

The food is superb - we've eaten here on quite a few occasions since moving to the area a few years ago and never had anything other than a splendid meal. The food is traditional - and authentic - Italian fayre, which are all made to order. The salads in particular are superb and the specials - which actually DO change regularly, ofetn feature very nice fish dishes. I believe the restaurant is owned by an Italian family. Offering a wide range of traditional pasta dishes too, which are all plentiful and tasty, as well as a pretty good wine list, Tuscany To is a small and intimate venue which is magnificently decorated inside - its like stepping into an authentic venue in Verona or Rome. These were hearty portions, very well presented and tasted amazing. Unfortunately though, the ambience really let the whole dining experience down. The decor is outdated, the room was cold and dimly lit. Things such as dusty light fittings and broken plug sockets really grated on me. Not to mention the actual used dish rag which was left on our table. The price was reflected in the quality of food we received but for the experience it was really poor value. Personally I would rather sit in a seaside chippy and pay £7pp for fish, chips n mushy peas than sit in there again and pay £20pp.

The hard surfaces of the decor mean there's a little more noise around the room than I'd like, but to be fair, some of that noise comes from our table - we can be a bit enthusiastic! Service, when it arrives, is stylish, friendly and professional - it might take a bit longer to reach you some nights when they're busy, though. If you're prepared for this possibility it should make the wait less stressful! Jeremy's food and atmosphere has the elan of a fine-dining emporium, but with an unstuffy approach that makes it a local favourite you can turn up to in 'smart casual' and yes, that includes jeans!

The most interesting thing was the specials on the board which changed daily depending on fish arrival. From our table we could see the kitchen, we noticed the team was only three girl chefs, despite the rush because the restaurant was packed, they worked in a quiet kitchen, they were all focused on their dishes. My friend ordered the halibut and cod special fishcake served with a garlic mayonnaise as a starter and I had the black pudding. Both starters were nice, tasty and despite the way it looks, it was quite light to eat. It looked like a de-constructed black pudding scotched egg, it goes very well with the caramelised onion chutney. As a main we both ordered from the specials on the board, my friend had Whitby scampi served with salad, coleslaw and fries, and I had Monkfish wrapped in parma ham with chorizo, welsh rarebit and spicy harissa served with vegetables and fries. Both dishes were fantastic and you could taste how fresh the seafood was. The batter around the scampi was perfectly crispy. My dish was delicious,I really liked the different texture of this dish, the monkfish was flakey inside, parma ham, chorizo and Welsh rarebit was crispy around and the spicy harissa sauce and mixed herbs was very tasty, full of flavours it really gave another dimension to the dish. Robin Hood's Bay isn't the place to go as a foodie, as there is not many restaurants around here...Most of them are part of a bed & breakfast or a pub.
