Recently I visited the Perrywinkles in Plattsburgh, NY for the first time. What a wonderful experience it was! Although I have not been an avid jewelry store patron, I did have a positive relationship with a local jeweler and considered him to be my trusted jeweler. When he retired and closed his store, I no longer had that convenience and valued connection. I took a chance on Perrywinkles and what a good decision it seems to have been! I arrived with three pieces of broken jewelry. One piece was a strand of pearls that needed to be restrung; that has been sent out of the store to be fixed. Katie Porter, the employee helping me, was knowledgeable and very helpful in answering several questions I had about the pearls. Two other items had minor yet fatal problems which made them useless: a delicate necklace with a link that needed to be closed and an earring with a clasp that needed to be tightened. Katie quickly offered to fix these if I had a few minutes to wait! I also asked that the staff check the stones on three rings I was wearing which they gladly did while also offering to give them a complimentary cleaning. I could not be happier with the service I received. Now, three pieces of jewelry that were not able to be used will function and I have confidence in my rings which are sparkling as they haven't in a long time. I went to Perrywinkle's in hopes of having my beloved wedding band and engagement ring of 46yrs resized and repaired. When entering I was greeted by Carol with a lovely smile and a feeling of "Welcome". This was just what I needed to start my experience since I had just left a different local establishment that was cold and uncaring. But Carol changed all of that, she was caring, empathetic and showed personal interest. Carol listened to what I wanted and explained the details of what Perrywinkle's could do for me to have my rings restored. They offered fresh muffins and cookies, a variety of beverages to give that down home feeling. I would recommend Perrywinkle's for anyone, they are the best in the Plattsburgh area. I bought an Exp Gold Tone Watch for my Boyfriend as a gift for Christmas, which was not in stock so they had to order one, It did not get to the Store until the day before Christmas.They called me in Florida to let me know it had arrived at the Store and they couldn't of been more sorrier then ever. They went out of there way to make sure the band would fit before I gave it to him and they shipped it over night. I told him I got him another gift but it would be a few days late.
