We wanted to hold off on redoing the whole roof at that time so Don said that he could make some minor repairs that would keep us safe for at least a year. He was very compassionate and helpful and didn't seem like he was just trying to get as much money for us as possible. He fixed the minor repairs that we needed and then down the line we ended up calling him to replace the whole Roof. NEW STEEPLE EXTERIOR MCAS did a terrific job replacing the…read moreexterior of the steeple on our church. We are so pleased with their solution and it was a pleasure working with them. We don't know of any other company in the Westchester area that has the experience needed to perform this kind of work. The steeple, which dates from the original construction of the church in the 1970s, is made of plywood. The exterior had been coated with a thick, rubberized, highly water-resistant paint. Because it was only paint protecting the plywood from the elements, it required a new paint job every 6 or 7 years. And because the steeple is so high and hard to access, any painting had required either building scaffolding or renting a bucket truck. A rather expensive bit of upkeep. MCAS helped us analyze other easier-to-maintain options--either traditional shingles or metal sheathing. We decided on metal sheathing because 1) it would have a cleaner look and be more attractive, and 2) it would last longer. Yes, the installation would cost more, but long-term it would be a simpler and more elegant solution. MCAS gave us a great price on the install--around 20k. And despite equipment hassles (the rented bucket truck kept breaking down), they got the work done in 10 days. There was only one actual installer who was an expert with aluminum sheeting. He approached the work as an artist and did a beautiful, impeccable job. On top of that, he was a super-nice guy. Our new steeple should last for 50 years or more and continues to be a bright spot in the Tarrytown community. Michael Casolaro, the owner of MCAS, has a documented history of high-quality roofing work (customized copper gutters to standard reshingling--the gamut) and we are so glad we went with him on this project. P.S. MCAS also reshingled our roof at the same time they resurfaced our steeple, and they did an excellent job with that as well. P.P.S. Please note, this job was done in spring, 2019. You also have to admire a roofer who breaks off and starts his own company. I have a soft spot for those with an entrepreneurial spirit, improving the US economy. Justine was also exceedingly pleasant to deal with. Responsiveness ranks as my top priority when dealing with large home projects and Justine get full marks, always getting back to me within minutes. They didn't try upsell me or talk me into any extras, they did exactly what I asked for in a quality manner and at a competative price. The crew was friendly and fast. I only had to do some minor yard clean up after they left, which I was happy to do considering the scope of their work. Mike pays them a good wage and that makes a difference in both attitude and craftsmanship. However, the high wage can backfire on the homeowner if additional work is involved. Inquire beforehand about their additional work rates. When I was surprised with the price of the additional work (they had to replace a rotted section of the roof), Mike was happy to explain the math behind the numbers and worked with me get the price down to an amount that I felt comfortable with. Be warned: NYS has very expensive insurance and companies like MCAS have large overhead costs to cover that are added into the price of additional work, so if you think they may uncover a lot of additional work, consider doing it yourself if you have the time. Regardless, Mike was pleasant and willing to work with me. Moreover, they were honest in the scope of additional work performed and did not magically find more or extrapolate. All this is something you can only get from a successful, family run business. A corporate company would never do that. I recommend MCAS. They get full marks on everything.

Vic was there same day to…read moreassess the damage, covered up the hole before we got rainfall, and then he and Claudio rebuilt the chimney to exactly match the look and functionality it had before, down to the same cedar siding we had on the rest of the house. Claudio was even nice enough to clean the chimney duct and secure a loose deck board free of charge. This is the second time I have used High Ridge for roof work and both times have been some of the best experiences I have ever had.

Like others, I received a time window. Spotless was showless. I called 15 minutes after the window…read moreended. I was told we "like a number of others that day did not receive service. I would have an appointment the next day, with a 2-4pm window (at the end of the day)." I wasn't interested in sitting around again with the possibility of a no-show and no notice or call. I answered, "No. Not interested in your service now or in the future." Given the big hype on their phonemail about customer service and happy customers, the cavalier attitude (after I arranged my schedule and was forced to re-schedule my yard clean-up ,etc because of the no-show, and would have to hire another contractor) surprised me. Almost as surprised as when the Spotless truck appeared in the morning many days later, and I repeated to the crew leader that I had terminated Spotless. Shortly afterward, I received an email that my appointment was canceled. The "family" crew that I hired was reasonably priced, efficient, and honest. Best wishes to others who had more positive experiences with Spotless.

After they no-show that window, they wanted to come at a time in the afternoon where I couldnt be there (doctor's appt). I was told they could come after, which, of course, they no-showed again. No apology, no text that they were coming, no phone call that they weren't. When I call to complain, the person on the phone claimed they arrived some time after 11 (which was a complete fabrication - I was home at the time and my ring camera would have caught it). So this company is unreliable, unprofessional, and apparently liars. Take a hard pass on this company.

He was at my house a few hours later, taking photos and measurements for an estimate for a new cedar shingle roof. He provided numerous references, all checked out with glowing comments. His pricing was quite fair for this large job. They began work within a week and I was incredibly impressed with his team, how clean they kept the worksite (our front courtyard) and how they cleaned up after each day's work. They were organized, methodical and worked section by section around the entire roof. The men were all hard workers and very kind. The roof is now done to code (wasn't before), with new flashing and the proper protections under the cedar shingles for longevity. Could not be more thrilled.
