Around the same time of their system change, I somehow ended up owing them money. Which was super confusing. Because I had no idea what was going on, my policy was cancelled and they just kept emailing me telling me I owe money but didn't tell me who they were or what I owe money for. I emailed a few times to ask and they basically just responded saying I owe them money and that they already told me why. If you're going to take the time to email me and tell me that you've already told me, then why not just quickly tell me what I owe money for? They came across as very unprofessional, rude, and immature. After about a couple months of this going on, I finally got a hold of the manager and she told me what the money was for. It took her all of 2 minutes. If they had given me a quick 2 minute call months ago, instead of constantly emailing me to ask for money, it would have saved their business time and money and maybe I'd still be a customer. And no one ever apologized. I paid what I owe so I won't have to deal with them anymore. But all of this tells me that they aren't organized, can't communicate effectively with their customers, and also that they would probably be a nightmare to deal if you wanted to access your insurance with them. The way they talked to me in email was similar to how scammers operate; demanding and rude while asking for money. And after all this, they were sure to ask if I wanted a new quote! Wow. I'd stay away!

If I could give them less than 1 Star I would. This company is horrific to deal with. Kristyna,…read morethe assistant branch manager, cancelled my insurance and notified the bank I have my mortgage with citing terms I was never informed of. When I escalated to the manager, questioned this and asked for copies of notifications it turns out it was an accident and someone else's policy. I would expect more from a seasoned insurance professional, especially an assistant manager. Not acceptable. I also experienced being sent an invoice for an additional policy I did not ask for (I asked for a quote, not a bound policy), and when that was questioned they acted like it was incredibly inconvenient and they were doing me a favor for fixing their mistake. I never went to them to get a policy in the first place. The company I had my policy from was bought by this company so I was inherited. Needless to say I renewed with another company. If you get the choice there are so many other better options out there. Pass on this one.

She is incredibly helpful with my many questions and always helps to make me more informed on everything to do with my freelancing and individual taxes. As a woman with only a basic understanding of personal finance, working with Brenda has been really helpful. She's even called the CRA for me when I didn't understand and email I got from them. They are also affordable, and I paid a much more doable rate than I ever did for half the service in Vancouver. Thanks so much. Highly recommend! Also, I just noticed that they have a bunch of 5 star reviews that yelp has hidden, don't know what's up duty that.

Not having used them before, I emailed someone named Brenda at Pain Free Tax, asking if she had a…read morePTIN number(needed for anyone being paid to do cross-border taxes) and any other credentials that would allow me to feel safer sending past tax returns to a complete stranger, since they would include my social insurance number, social security number and much more in the way of sensitive personal information. She assured me she had a PTIN, and asked if a video meeting would reassure me(I live in a different province). I reiterated that the credentials would help me to go forward, in a friendly manner, as I felt a bit uncomfortable asking. This is what she emailed me back(draw your own conclusions - it certainly told me enough): "Good Day Audrey, I cannot  provide you with my PTIN number via email- It is like your tax data- confidential information. You seem to have significant hesitancy around this process. At this point we have decided to decline to provide tax services for you." Brenda Bryant PS: it appears that they're using stock photos in their reviews?!
