My company hired on Thomas of Video Impressions to film an awards event we hosted in Sunnyvale. We…read morehad never hosted any events or had someone film us before, so there were a lot of uncertainties on our end. Thomas definitely put those to rest by taking the time to get his best sense of the sequence of activity during the event. He showed up early and helped me with sound check, and his overall demeanor and enthusiasm made us all feel at ease. He shot primarily the speakers/presentation component of the event but also got lots of b roll of people coming into the event, the different conversations happening around the guest tables, etc. He captured everything I was looking for. We then requested Video Impressions produce a series of short videos from the event using the presentation slides (ppt) and other screen graphics. The videos came out very well. The audio level was spot-on, the pacing was just right, and the camera made me look pretty dapper when I was at the podium emceeing. Thomas even took the time to not only burn us a physical copy of the videos, but also re-convert them to a YouTube-friendly version that we could upload onto our website. Video Impressions has very affordable rates, and you can add on services/requirements as the project goes along. Thomas is very flexible and willing to take on anything. I highly recommend using Video Impressions for your next project, event, or corporate shindig. Lights, camera, boo ya.

He was very professional, personable, organized and gave great advice on how to improve my production in the future. He also included me in the process of editing of the final product to make sure that I was happy with the outcome! My students were ecstatic. Thomas kept in close communication to make sure that he didn't miss anything and was very nice about accepting last minute additions such as Powerpoint presentations, forgotten names etc. I would highly recommend Video Impressions to anyone that wants a high quality video. Thomas was also wonderful working within our budget and with special needs students. We are looking forward to working with Thomas again next year!!

He has…read moregreat ideas, is wonderful at verbalizing what and how he will shoot to the client (me), and is highly intelligent. He also is very friendly and easy to get along with. His impish smile, and good-nature charm make working a breeze. Jacob also let me borrow a wireless mic for another project...wow! Who ever heard of great customer service like that? He is very conscientious of his work and worked tirelessly for a number of hours to make sure he had more than enough footage and b-roll for the finished product. In line with that conscientiousness, he brought a second shooter, Ashley, who is gorgeous, super duper helpful, and has local style humor which I love. They brought 2 DSLR video cameras, a drone, and all kinds of fancy equipment that I don't know the names of. Yew Productions is highly affordable, had great samples of their work online, and caters to business owners looking to have professional promo videos, or other projects. Most local Hawaii video production companies do only wedding or one type of cookie cutter video. Yew Productions allows for customization, originality, and strives for passion and feeling in their videos. Highly recommend! (Plus, a total added benefit...and for me the deciding factor was that Jacob is amazingly professional and non-skebe! Yay!!! Will definitely hire again!!!) --- Updating this review after receiving my video. WOW. Jacob nailed it. I have a hard time watching myself dance typically, but everything was put together so perfectly. The sunrise with the drone footage, the golden glitter sand, the flower, the way he captured the hula dance (which is amazing because some of it was even in Hawaiian). Jacob was really able to capture pure emotion. He had me tearing with his lovely work. His "first cut" was immediately approved as the "final cut". Hire Jacob and his team. Simply amazing...okay...don't hire him too much, because I need him to have some time open for future projects for my hula company. hee hee. Seriously amazing amazing stuff. Thank you Jacob!!!

We were so lucky that he and his assistant Ashley were available to shoot our Hawaii wedding just weeks before he moved from Oahu to the Bay Area. His work and artistry are amazing and the price is definitely reasonable for the quality of work we received! I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to memorialize an event as it truly happens, emotions and all. My one regret is that we did not hire him for all of our wedding celebrations; we held multiple celebrations across 3 states and point by point he is definitely a cut above the rest! Because we are super type-A personalities, prior to choosing a videographer, my husband and I made a very specific list of things we were looking for and thankfully Jacob exceeded every single requirement! (Not all of our other vendors did, unfortunately.) Jacob's your guy if this is what you're looking for: (1) **Jacob cares about your film as if it was his own event.** (This turned out to be the most important thing for us and explains why Jacob excelled at the other qualities we were seeking! We had multiple wedding celebrations in 3 different states; at a separate location, we had a different videographer, who treated us as just another paycheck to collect and forgot to film certain people that we purposefully listed in our "look book" for him to film--the look book had headshots of family, the wedding party, and any VIP guests that were "must haves" in the video. Whereas Jacob painstakingly made sure he was available for every important moment and captured every single person at the event and made an extra effort to check in with us that he taped them all.) (2) **Jacob comes up with fun, creative ideas and suggests interesting camera angles and perspective.** (This goes along with the above point. Jacob thought about what he would want for his own wedding video and came up with super creative time lapse and speedup segments and interesting poses and ideas that at times felt silly at first, but turned out really great on film and contributed to some unforgettable moments--like the exchanging of letters that my husband and I did.) (3) **Jacob is definitely in the cinematic-style camp of videographers and created clear, visually interesting, movie-caliber videos for us.** (Our package included both a highlights reel and a longer 15 minute reel and a few special surprises that Jacob threw in just for fun. We loved all of it! All our family and friends were so surprised at how much the videos looked like they were produced in Hollywood.) (4) **Jacob is the master of sound.** (Jacob had the best sound quality of all the videographers we saw. Every single word and laugh and tear of joy came across crisp and clean. Even though it was pouring rain during some parts of the celebration and the music was blasting throughout the reception, it didn't compromise the sound.) (5) **Jacob is fantastic at capturing each individual's emotions on screen and the feelings of the moment.** (The joy and emotions on film are so vibrant! We truly feel like we are reliving it every time we watch the film. Our family and friends who weren't able to make the event even commented how they felt like they were actually there.) (6) **Jacob is a ninja!** (Most of our guests actually didn't realize we had hired videographers even though they managed to capture everything that happened that day. We barely noticed him or his assistant Ashley even though they had multiple cameras set up around the venue for time-lapse and speedup videos, close ups, wideshots, and overhead drone shots!) It reminded me how great it was being a guest that evening! That's when I discovered Focused Journey Media... and realized I wanted a videographer at my wedding (haha). FJM has this way of helping you relive a memory through their work that is 10000% better than your iPhone. David & Aaron are amazing communicators, super adaptable, and incredibly chill! They helped review our wedding timeline before the big day and were truly reliable on the day itself. They don't feel like another one of your vendors on your wedding day, they feel like your great friends coming to support you on your big day and we truly appreciated that! My friends and family also felt the same when David & Aaron were coordinating with them through the group photos, wedding entrance, and speeches. It takes real talent and experience to capture the moment seamlessly. David & Aaron made my husband and I feel completely at ease, and we're so happy with the photos and videos that prove it! Don't sleep on hiring Focused Journey Media for your big day - you won't be disappointed!! They will book up quick, so inquire ASAP!!!! Thank you again, David, Aaron, Chase & Brian! Just, WOW…read more Photography & videography is something that you just can't mess with on your wedding day, and I'm so glad we went with Focused Journey Media. From the very first questionnaire and zoom intro call to the closing presentation of the videos and photos, the entire process was so seamless. 5 stars all around. I could go on and on about why FJM was so excellent throughout the wedding process but this review would frankly be too long. So let me just highlight some key parts: + David & Victorio are just all around chill people that make the entire process so comfortable. It's actually a huge reason why we picked them - compared to others we talked to, we just really felt like we'd get along with them and that they'd make our wedding day even more fun. They even made our engagement session super fun with music, jokes, and helpful coaching to keep us laughing and having a good time. (We had two engagement sessions with two different photographers and when we were with the other - we could *tell* the difference. David and Victorio are pros at making couples feel comfortable!) + Not only that, they're so patient and understanding. They worked with us to figure out a package that fit our budget + what we were looking for.... and they were super patient with us when we ran really late to our engagement session (sorry sorry sorry!). They also were really generous and kind about staying a little later on our wedding day when our timeline ran long. + The results are STUNNING. The videos we received are so beautifully shot and captured all the things we wanted to see: our love and all of our friends and family having a great time. The photos were so beautiful and gave such a great variety of looks and styles - all highlighting the fun and memories we'll always love looking back on. Now I'm not gonna lie, we did go a little over our budget in hiring them, but trust me when I say - every penny you spend on FJM is so WORTH IT. Photos + videos are some of the only tangible things you'll have to remember your wedding so if you're gonna splurge on something, splurge on this. And if you have the means and need a team that just *gets you*, hire Focused Journey Media. Thank me later.

Judging by the way Tom presented his work and his business, we could tell he put a lot of time and effort into what he does. After the fair we set up a consultation to go over the different package options and to review his portfolio. We were impressed! Good photography is expensive, but we found Tom Vo to be an extreme value for what you get. We researched many other photographers and didn't find anything of remotely the same quality for the same prices. There are so many "trendy" photographers these days who charge way more and you end up with photos that look "Instagramed." It might be cool now, but Tom's style is both modern and timeless. As far as working with Tom, he was great! In addition to photographing our wedding, we also had an engagement session last Fall. He's very personable and was good at making our guests feel at ease. His assistant Kimber was awesome too! Most importantly, we just received the files of our wedding photos (ahead of schedule to boot!) and they are fabulous! As someone who is typically very picky about photos of myself, there are so many shots that I love! I know my husband and I will always have fond memories of our wedding day and are so glad that we picked Tom Vo as our photographer.
