Dr. Patel was great handling my severely cracked heels and calloused feet. He worked quickly and confidently, and he made sure I was comfortable, stopping when I mentioned that cutting the dead skin was hurting at one part. He was able to give me a good explanation for why I was having this problem, and came up with a plan for treatment -- all in the last half hour of his work day! Front desk was friendly and helpful, and I didn't feel rushed out the door even though I could tell I was keeping them slightly past hours. 5 stars for Performance Foot and Ankle! I had appointment with Dr. Gifford and it went as smooth as one would hope for a doctors office visit to be. Dr. Gifford was on time and packed so much in my 30-min visit. I got in depth consultation, foot x-rays on both feet, digital pics for shoe insoles and recs for running shoes to keep my puppies happy. Looking forward to trying my new insoles on for size so my feet are as comfortable as can be on my daily runs and even just day to day walking. Def would recommend seeing Dr. Gifford. The office staff was amazing...... The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. My daughter has been having issues with her heel and started off with ortho, MRI and was told she had plantar fasciitis so we were referred to Performance Foot and Ankle. Dr Gifford looked at the MRI results and confirmed it was not plantar fasciitis and explained what my daughter's issues was..... She recommended different options of treatments including laser therapy but was not pushy at all. I would highly recommend them. A very professional office and friendly staff. read more

2 months after a trip to Europe, my puppies (feet) were still in pain. That's what walking 15000-18000 steps per day will do to you if you wear stupid-stinkin-fricken-fracken converse. But yes, they are cute. Two minutes into my session with Dr Patel I was diagnosed with tendonitis, and worsened by early signs of flat feet. A quick and painless cortisone shot, optional, but immediate relief and the next step, near nothing. The office is new, the staff is very nice and helpful, and Dr Patel, well, he's my new best friend. -- Note: I donated 3 of my 6 pairs of Converse, and bought special insoles that are firm and have arch support, then bought some more for all my dress shoes and new adidas running shoes that are WAY better for me to wear. read more

I had really bad toenail fungus and had been treating it with over-the-counter treatments for more than a year. It only got worse. Dr. Patel gave me the options, costs, and expected outcomes. I had an issue with my foot so I asked my circle of friends and was referred here. I called and made an appointment after verifying my insurance. On appointment day, the office wasn't busy (covid) and the receptionist was friendly. Once in the exam room, I waited around 5 minutes for Dr Patel (if you have been to a doctors office, you know this is lightning fast). He was friendly, informative and to my great surprise and relief, he took care of my issue right then and there. I was sure I'd have to come back for multiple visits (and copays) but no, he explained what my problem was and helped resolve it. To top it off, he gave me a complimentary foot cream to apply to the area (even though the pain was gone). Overall, highly recommended. read more

I had been dealing with a growth on my toe that had been there for years through multiple doctors appointments. I was looking for a non surgical solution. Let me start with stating that doctor Patel is fantastic. Unfortunately my daughter broke her ankle and Dr. Kim was the only option. She didn't set my daughters ankle properly in what was not even a cast, prematurely scared her with an urgency of needing to get surgery, told us she could "work the system" by having us jump through all kinds of hoops to bypass insurance to have the state pay for it, kept giving us her resume and why she is so great (coming from NYC), charged us for everything and tried charging us a second time for x-rays she didn't get - all while continuing to boast as to how great she is. We had to find another Dr to do the job correctly. The time wasted, trauma endured and loss of money was never compensated for nor was an apology ever given. Recently I visited Performance Foot and Ankle in Newbury Park, and was extremely impressed! Dr. Patel is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and it is a wonderful facility. I had suffered an injury to my ankle some time ago, and had previously seen another Doctor in Tarzana- after x-rays were done all he recommended was physical therapy, but I knew that I needed further treatment despite what he told me. I wanted a second opinion, and after coming to Dr. Patel, within a minute he told me that my tendon was torn and immediately informed me of what needed to be done to fix the injury. I was very relieved and glad I was able to see him in time before more damage was done! He is very knowledgeable and friendly and I'm so glad I was able to see him before any further problems to my ankle occurred. The facility is clean and tidy, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful! The front desk was great at setting up my appointments and working with my time schedule. Everything about scheduling the visit , the office reception and most of all, the Dr Patel attendance was pleasant experience. The scheduler understood urgency of my situation, she found a free spot to schedule me within 24 hours after a cancellation. The receptionist at the office was welcoming and attentive to details . Dr. Patel educated me about my problem, answered all my questions and gave me very sound advice about my treatment options, plus additional healing tips. I went to this office to get the Keryflex procedure done. Brittney was awesome as she kept her word whether it was to get back to me via email or phone. She went out of her way to find out if I would qualify for the procedure, as this office is far away from me. She is much appreciated and the only good thing about my experience. Anyways, unlike what I read online, the doctor did not apply the Keryflex- his medical assistant Yvonne did. I had to go back a few days later bc there was a sharp corner of the Keryflex that had cut into my skin. Fast forward to a couple months and I finally remove the polish that I had on my nails. I noticed it was bright green under the Keryflex nail. I scheduled an appt right away. Couple days later, Dr. Patel was to remove the nail. It was painful and I was freaking out even more as he was talking out loud saying "I don't know where your nail starts" (that was not reassuring whatsoever). And I would flinch in pain and say "that hurts" but he kept on going. I was disappointed bc I left that office with less nail that I came in with. The purpose of the Keryflex is to allow your nail to grow under it and it seems like it delayed the process even more bc now I have to start all over. I had 75% of my nail before it and now down to about 25%. read more

She answered all my questions before getting me in on the same day with Dr. Patel, who saw my daughter because she had been complaining about pain with her feet. My daughter gets nervous with doctor visits but Dr Patel was very patient and took the time to make her feel comfortable enough so he could examine her. I rarely leave reviews, but I JUST HAD TO for Dr. Patel and his team! I had some extreme pain in my foot, and It was causing my whole body to adjust just to compensate. I just picked the closest Podiatrist and hoped for the best. I WAS SO LUCKY it was performance foot & ankle. The ENTIRE staff is so nice! From the front desk, the nurse practitioner and Dr. Patel. I didn't have to wait, they had plenty of office space (great for Covid 6 feet distancing), super clean! They also have an Xray machine right there, so no waiting quick answers, which I got that day (turns out I broke a bone in my foot). He gave me all my possible remedies, and we started with the treatment plan. Dr. Patel has the best bed side manner, super patient, caring, and interested in how you are feeling, and funny. Honestly probably the nicest people to hear you have a broken bone from and all things considered it happened at the best time because we quarantining anyways so staying off my foot for a month was pretty easy to do. Anyways I digress, I waited to write this review until after my follow up, just to make sure they weren't just faking it to get me in the door. They were just as nice, no wait again, and great care. DO NOT GO TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT! Podiatrist Patel tried to charge $1520.00 for one pair of orthotics. Because he saw that I had "good insurance", as he informed me, he decided to take full advantage of my insurance company. Thankfully my insurance company refused to pay $689.61 of the bill. In spite of having "good insurance" I will be out of pocket $354.40. Here is the breakdown of his bill: New Patient Visit $220.00; Custom made orthotics $600.00; Foot impression $200.00; Cast supplies $100.00; Casting supplies $100.00; (Yes, one charge per each foot) Range of motion exam $90.00 (Separate from the patient visit for whatever reason); 2 Rear foot pads $210.00 (The rear foot pad is built into the orthotic but for some reason this was an additional charge.) Additionally, he tried to persuade me to have a very complex surgery to correct my bunion. I was skeptical and therefore sought a second opinion with Southern California Orthopedic Institute and was told I do not need surgery and that physical therapy would be a much better solution for my problem.
