What do u think about this-…read more My daughter has danced at this studio for 10 years now. Over time, my daughter has not only learned how to dance, but she has learned responsibility, time management, and the importance of "showing up." I do not sugar coat anything and can say that this studio is not perfect...but this is because none of them are. It is about finding the right fit for each dance family. All parents have their frustrations, at any studio. This studio, like so many others, has rules and policies in place for a reason. We are glad they do. Also find comfort in knowing they keep the best interest of our dance community top of mind.

As a long standing member of this dance studio community I feel compelled to share my perspective…read morein response to the recent one star review. We are a multiracial, interfaith and interabled family and we have always found an inclusive atmosphere. Every experience is different, but we have not encountered any instances of racial or religious insensitivity. I would be thoroughly surprised if we did. This does not reflect the identity or values of this studio. The dance family at this studio, which not only includes staff but also the fellow dance moms/dads, have always been helpful and compassionate despite the personal challenges faced by our family. It's disheartening to see such negativity towards a studio that is a second home for our daughter. My daughter has not only grown as a dancer but has developed a strong sense of confidence and resilience from being on a dance team. Any concerns or difficulties we have encountered along the way have been met with a willingness to listen. I urge readers to not allow one negative review to overshadow the positive impact this studio brings.

After the first six weeks of classes they started practicing the routine and then 75% of the time most of the girls stood around watching other girls practice their parts of the routine for the recital. My daughter, as well as other girls there I know, got very bored and did not even want to go to class. She had the size of this class way to big! I was told there would not be that many in the class. And let me tell you about the obscenely long FOUR hour recital she scheduled. What other dance studio does that??? That was brutal on many levels for both students and the family members there watching. Several people left after intermision, which at a normal studio would have actually been the time a recital would end. Not to mention the unorganization of it. She also overbooked seating for that auditorium. So Bridget threw some folding chairs in the aisle, in front of a safety bar,so not only were we in awful folding chairs but also could not see without looking under or over the bar. We paid $120 for folding chair seats in the isle with an obstructed view. Had to put your head under or stand up to see kids on stage. Overall I have to say I was very dissapointed with Bridget's on several levels. I would NEVER recommend anyone go to that dance studio. I will be trying Amy's Dance in Braintree.

They are amazing with children. They can pull the shyest child out of their shell. They know how to build confidence in the children so they are not only better dancers but better people. They try to make every single student feel special. Terri and Corrine pour their heart and soul into their profession. All of their time is either spent teaching, mixing the music for classes, buying/making costumes, and on the rare occasion sleeping. They produce 5-6 recitals every year between the gym show, solo shows, and dance recitals. Over the years Terry and Corrine have worked at making recital more cost efficient for parents but trying to make most of them instead of buying them from costume companies. Terry has an amazing eye, she can buy a plain dress and make it into an elegant sparkling costume. It's inspiration like this that has sparked my creative side. Without Dance Academy, Hyde Park would not have had a parade for as long as it did. The teachers fought hard every year to organize it. Unfortunately the parade has come to an end but now they help organize the tree lighting. Dance Academy is not only bringing children together (creating life long friends) but they bring the community together. Dance Academy is not just a business, it is the heart of Hyde Park. The teachers have taught me love, friendship, confidence, strength, and helped with that balance issue I had as a toddler, haha. My daughter is too young right now, but once she is old enough you can bet that my daughter will be on the stage at recital staring at the curtains as Terri and Corrine are trying to get her and her classmates to tap their toes.
