We couldn't have asked for a more thorough home inspection. I have to agree with the other yelpers.

They gave us some quick instructions if we wanted to use a DIY method, which I quickly vetoed! We spoke with BJ about the issue and were able to quickly get an appointment with him; he took 13 samples (we needed quite a few due to the scope of the work), and received the results the following week, I think. He sent us the lab reports as soon as we had them so that we could share them with the plumbing company. (Total cost came to just shy of $300.) At any rate, BJ was super-helpful, friendly, and efficient, and I'd recommend him highly!

I have found BJ to be thorough and professional and he has gone above and beyond to help me understand the inspection report and answer all my questions. I get the sense that he genuinely does care about his customers and that "caring customer service" is not just a company slogan for him. His inspection report was well-written,detailed, and contained photos of each item that needed attention so I could understand exactly what was being discussed. His attention to detail, his kind and personal customer service, and his obvious integrity, have definitely earned BJ and his company 5 stars in my book. :-)

I have only lived in apartments before, so all of this was a new experience for me. My first impression was when speaking with the dispatcher by phone. She is very knowledgeable, and answered questions to me in detail. She was clear, transparent and honest, and did not try to gouge or oversell me on anything. This is a very important point given my lack of experience in this domain. I was invited to attend the inspection, and it was a fascinating process. I have only lived in apartments, so this was my first time being exposed to the internals and sub-systems of a house. The inspector is extremely thorough, and is very knowledgeable and patient if you ask him questions during the inspection. We went through every corner of the home and he pointed out areas which could be problematic, and also aspects which were well constructed. The inspector is very knowledgeable, and these people are easy to interact with. The report I received is very detailed and included critiques, observations, and maintenance tips. I followed up with questions, and got detailed responses. I am very grateful for the expertise and quality of service provided by this company. They are highly skilled, professional, and easy to work with. I believe I got an excellent service from them.

None of these spots were identified in the report. We will be spending over $3,000 dollars to fix these boards. We hired a contractor who is very reputable in the Portland and Salem area to fix the doors and he says that this was a HUGE miss on their part. I called Pillar to Post today and claimed it wasn't their fault and we should have hired a contractor to fix these issues and they were not their responsibility to identify them, say what?! Just know if you use Pillar to Post and they make a mistake, they do nothing :(. I have a lot of friends who are real estate agents who I will be passing this along to, unfortunately. We will never work with them again.

I very rarely leave any type of feedback, but I feel that I must try to protect the consumer…read moreregarding this guy, especially young families who are purchasing a home for the first time with little knowledge of construction. Very limited knowledge of basic building codes. Tells me house doesn't need a grounding rod because "in Oregon" 4 lines enter the house with ground wire..... what! Then I notice that the ground wire from panel is grounded to the old galvanized water pipes. If he took the time to follow the pipes to the main waterline, he may have noticed that the main pipe is PVC! He is deliberately vague when describing issues. He wouldn't say "windows inoperable due to rot and being painted shut. Instead he lists a menu of "things that could be wrong!" He scoped the main drain and halfway down his camera stopped working. He tried to just shrug it off as , I'm sure it's all good!" Made him do it again so I could see the complete video. He charged $750. He is more focused on being a "realtor friendly inspector" than objectively listing the condition of the house. Don't waste your money!...... just a quick update. I removed the cover on sub panel and you can see that ground and neutral are connected- creating a bond. Also the house as previously mentioned is grounded to pipes that connect to a PVC water main. There is way more issues he missed- leaking bathroom water pipes upstairs damaging downstairs ceiling. It was obvious that homeowner had recently tried to hide leak by painting the ceiling. The poor inspection report prevents home buyers from negotiating a better price based on condition. DO NOT USE THIS GUY, he is literally learning inspection skills as he goes- AT YOUR EXPENSE. Don't be fooled by his website positive feedback- it's mostly fake.

He was fantastic! From the initial greeting he was professional, courteous, thorough and explained everything in detail. He never seemed bothered by our questions and was upfront and honest. Also the fact that you can schedule multiple types of inspections at once really is amazing and helps both the listing and the buy side so we don't have to schedule different days. It can all be done at once! The pricing is very reasonable! I would highly recommend this company!
