DO NOT HIRE Jacob Bunn as your wedding videographer!!!!! You will wait up to 2 years to get your video. Here's my story.
Jacob had done my sister's wedding back in 2018 and I liked the video. He got the video to her in a timely manner and was one of her best vendors. So when I was planning my wedding it was a no-brainer of who I wanted to capture our special day. I contacted him through facebook introduced myself and asked if he had the date (November 10, 2022) free and he did. So a couple of months later I put down a $300 deposit to save the date, and signed the "contract". The rest of the money ($700) was paid a month or so before the wedding, so $1,000 total for the day and editing. I asked him for his timeline on when we would be receiving the finished video. He said about 6 months. During the planning of the wedding, he was very understanding of date changes and time-line changes. I thought I didn't have to worry about him. The day arrived he was professional and per our previous conversations he had total creative control. Throughout the day I saw him get some beautiful shots, like the dress, walking around the venue, getting our rustic table decor, and while the photographer was getting her shots of us outside he took the opportunity to get creative shots with the fallen leafs. After the photos he came to us individually and got a recording of our vows just incase the mics didnt pick it up in the moment.
After the ceremony he pulled us aside and told us that the 6 month guesstimate of when we would get our video would have to be pushed to 8 months. He said that he was backed up with the previous summer videos. That should have been my first clue. But we would be the top priority. And how he said it sounded like he was at the end of editing and had 1 person in front of us in the queue. We told him that was okay, the people in front of us have been waiting longer so should be the priority. He got a little of the after party, a surprise dinosaur on the dancefloor and left.
This is where everything goes to shit. In June, seven months after the wedding, I messaged him on messenger (our main source of contact thus far) he responded 10 days later with " your video is beautiful and I will be done by July 20th". The next 4 months pass (I was busy so I didnt have time to message him). October to November 10th (1 year) no response. Then he finally responds with a half-assed explanation of "I was overbooked, the sound is the only thing I need to do and your video is done." I thought "okay I'll give him a few more months". From that moment on I only used email so that he would get EVERY message I sent... and for the paper tail. Over the next couple months I "checked in" with no response. February of this year I emailed him and he gave me the same shit as before, April comes around, no response. During that time I found a review about him, showing that we wernt the only couple that he has done this to. That there was about 15 other couples that he had done this to. To be honest it makes me sick. That leads me to present day Ive emailed him multiple times ALL without a responses. He was the one thing that left a stain on the day. My most recent email I told him that we wanted a full refund and the any raw footage that he has. I'm done messing around with this. We dont have the time or money to pursue legal action. I just dont want him to cause anymore couples the frustration that he caused us. read more
