He was happy to help with my task--I didn't actually want to hire a live videographer, I just wanted to pay someone to show me exactly how to create a terrific setup in my home office with tripods and mics and a lighting kit. Not only was Keith game to help, but he gave me loads of free advice on the phone and he was willing to charge a very reasonable rate to come on site and show me how to do everything myself, so I could set things up for a great shot each time I recorded. Like seriously I think I researched around 70 different videographers (yes, I know). When my partner and I originally decided to invest into documenting our day with video, we wanted to make sure we picked the right videographer to capture everything and create a fun, exciting video that we would love to watch over and over. And, most importantly, we needed a videographer that we trusted so we weren't stressed about video on the day of the wedding. We were SO HAPPY that Emerald Media was available on our wedding date when we reached out to them - we didn't have a backup option in mind! At first my partner was a little bit worried that there would be too many people around us throughout the day (two videographers plus two photographers that we'd also hired) but honestly, Tamara and Lindsay did such a great job of blending into the background that we hardly even noticed them during the wedding and reception. Maybe that statement alone speaks of how talented he is. He was able to capture a day filled with so much love and emotion that you can't even describe it with words and perfectly represent it in a film that you can watch over and over to relive that marvelous day. He even flew all the way from Seattle to Santa Barbara for our wedding and stayed late so he could capture footage of us on the beach that he knew would be beautiful in the film. We met Ben through one of our friends' wedding. From seeing his work ethics first hand, our…read morefriends' recommendation, and his final work product, we booked Ben for our own wedding! We got married in Maui and Ben flew out to capture our days. I said days in this case as we had asked Ben to film a sunrise session and he was all up for it! Note that this session is the morning after our wedding (it seemed like a good idea during the planning phase - not so much when we had to wake up super early from an already long day before:) ) and Ben stayed about an hour away from where we were shooting. We met at 5am which meant he got little to no sleep the night before. But he was very energetic and enthused on the shoot. The day before the sunrise shoot was our wedding day, and he was there from the beginning (9am was when we started for the traditional tea ceremony and we ended at 10pm). So it was quite a long day! And it was hot! Every time and everywhere we looked, we see Ben hard at work. So we knew all the special moments on our big day was captured.
