Another thing, he's very thorough in his explanation as to the issue(s) your clock is having, the cost to fix and the subsequent maintenance and care that the clock owner can do do prevent or forestall future repair requirements. We unfortunately, tried another clock "specialist" (in Riverview, MI.) in the past year and it was quickly apparent that his repair skills were questionable... three times he was out to our house and still our clock didn't chime or keep time correctly and our monies were wasted. As we all know, In todays world having great Neighbors is somewhat of a blessing. We had the best neighbors anyone can hope for. Unfortunately their time with us was shorten over the last 5 years. As their children were packing their house and memories they asked us if we were interested in a Grandfather Clock that the Family had for 45+ Years. With out a doubt we said yes, however they did tell us it has been dormant for at least 25 years maybe more. We looked all over for a reputable repair business and surprisingly allot of the response was "It probably needs a full rebuild" - "If it sat that long chances are it wont work" etc. etc. My wife's Mom called one day and said try Perfect Time Clock Repair they did a great job for her. So we called and Eric showed up for the appointment. Extremally pleasant / professional and was very honest with us. He said well its an old one very dusty / dirty but will proceed to operate anyway. Eric was very careful as he took the old clock apart, I walked in twice to check on progress and just kept seeing more and more parts. About an hour or so later, I heard chiming?????? My wife and I walked into the family room and sure enough the old Clock came back to life. In all honesty I had my doubts but what a surgeon!!! Eric also took the time to explain how everything works, how to set the time, the moon time and winding after the 7 day stretch. Before leaving we gave Eric a smaller version of a clock that is 50 years old and made its way here from Germany. I have absolutely no doubts it will be working just as well as the Grandfather. Appreciate the up front honesty We have a circa 1930 Herman Miller mantel clock that was my in-laws and doesn't work. We are remodeling and thought if we could get it to work, it could be part of the plan for the room. Eric was great. We dropped it off and he called that day to give us the prognosis. Unfortunately, it would take a hundred hours of his time and a whole lotta $$$ to do a repair that will last. He even said he/someone could do a cheap fix, but that it wouldn't last and we wouldn't be happy. While it wasn't the result we wanted, it was great to have the timely, honest service. I just had a home visit to repair my grandfather clock by perfect time all clock repair. Eric was respectful of my home and wore booties over his shoes as to not track dirt in. He did a great job. He explained everything he needed to do and why. He was upfront about the cost. He also took the time to teach me how to set and care for the clock. Our grandfather clock was in dire need of repair. It had stopped working, and hadn't been taken care of for three years. Eric came out the next day, dismantled and repaired our clock. It is 45 years old , and after reassembly, looks brand new. It's in perfect working order and looks fantastic. Eric was fabulous!! He really is an expert clock repairman. I inherited a wonderful grandfather clock that I wanted to preserve. I wasn't sure who to call to trust, but with some wonderful recommendations, I found Eric and Perfect Time. He told me the clock is very old and hadn't been maintained in a number of years. He came on time, explained everything in detail, gave me his card and said if I had ANY questions, to give him a call. He was in/out in about 1 1/2 hours and my clock is now working wonderfully. It's been a few weeks since I picked up a clock that I had Eric repair. It works flawlessly and the sound of the Westminster chime was really missed for a long time. I have a Regulator clock built by an Amish man in central PA. The wood for the clock came from a Catalpa tree out of my grandparents front yard. My clock and a grandmother clock were built in 1990 and the spare parts for them are unobtainium. During a move, the box that contained my Regulator clock was dropped, damaging the inner movement and shattering the convex glass bezel. The grandmother clock is not in existence now because my cousin couldn't find parts to repair it. I searched all over the Metro area at different clock shops and no body wanted to touch it. I was getting some other work done on a watch at Simons and asked Eric if he knew of a place to get my clock fixed. He said he was familiar with them and to bring it in. When I dropped it off he said it might be a few months to resource parts if at all possible. I dropped it off with little hope of getting it back in operation. A few months later, Eric called and said the clock was ready for pickup. I got it back fully operational and you wouldn't know it was in such sad shape at one point. My clock is priceless to me and I can't replace it with a store bought model. Eric understood that and came thru under budget. read more

Our grandfather clock hasn't worked in over 10 years, so on a whim, I checked online for repairmen with good ratings. Eric came the same day I called, patiently explained the various things he was doing to fix the mechanism, chains and weights, and carefully cleaned and oiled the clock, spending almost 3 hours on it. The result was nothing short of amazing. The clock works, has beautiful sound again, and is keeping good time (which Eric showed me how to adjust). I have an unique and beautiful grandfather clock that was a wedding gift from my Grandfather. The clock is around 13 years old, and it had not been lubricated recently, which I knew was a mistake. For the last few weeks, the pendulum would randomly stop, and the clock would run either several minutes slow or several minutes fast when I could get the pendulum to swing. Thankfully, I found Eric through a google search, and he was at my home within 2 weeks for an in-home repair. Eric is not only very knowledgeable about clocks, but he is an excellent teacher as well.
