It's mostly middle age ladies which is nice because we all issues! Can't stretch as well as we used too! But the instructor always offers many options to do the stretches. Very happy I found such a beautiful space.

I am so happy this studio opened in my town! I have never done yoga before (I have always been a…read morerunner.) but after moving to Skillman I wanted to try something new indoors for the winter instead of the traditional treadmill at the gym. This studio offers all types of classes for yoga, barre, meditation, etc. Lindsey and her staff were very helpful and walked me through which each class offered before I began. I didn't know anything about yoga or what anything meant! I started with the heated slow flow, but have been attending Vinyasa and heated power flow as well! I love the heated classes, they are so comforting (and they are a pretty dry heat.) You can really work up a sweat in some of these classes! There are always candles (fake of course for safety) and essential oils running, so the ambiance is very nice and relaxing. Booking and scheduling is very easy, can be done either through the website or through the MINDBODY App. You can schedule or cancel at any time without a penalty, which is nice when my personal schedule is not consistent. The classes can be purchased in bulk for a discount, individually, or as an unlimited package. I first tried the two week unlimited trial period, which was great. It allowed me to give it a fair chance without an expensive and long term commitment to see if I really enjoyed it. Here we are , 2 months later and I go between 2-3 times per week! I'm so happy I tried yoga and at such an awesome studio! Thank you! :)

The intro class was about 30 -40 mins and took us through a basic mini work out. By no means did I feel like we were given a easy work out to make us feel a certain way but a true taste of what a real class is like. It's a low impact work out which engages your core throughout as well as every other muscle group, at least I felt like it did 2 days after. This morning I had my first official class. And I loved it! By no means am I an athlete or athletic, but at no point did I feel like it was unattainable for me to complete. Was it easy? No. I struggled at points my muscles were shaking at certain tasks. Everything worth doing is a challenge. Both instructors I encountered Gabriella for intro and Laura for my class today reformer 1. Both were kind and professional and very helpful for a newbie like me. I signed up for 3 months but wouldn't be surprised if I stay a lifetime! Price points. I will say before club pilates came to town I had researched other studios in the area and the reason I had never gone was the cost. Although club pilates is still more expensive then a monthly gym membership, I know plenty of people who pay monthly and never go, I have done it. I would rather pay for something I know I enjoy and will do. So there are membership tiers 4 classes a month, 8 a month, unlimited. Or you can pay per class. They are franchises and I'm not sure if prices vary per franchise. But for 4 x month I believe I'm paying 109. A single class was 29? I think. If I'm wrong correct me and I'll update it.

Gemma's vinyasa classes are hard, including her "gentle vinyasa" class. You will sweat buckets, and that's no exaggeration. Maybe there are a handful of people who don't break a sweat in her extremely popular classes, but I'm not one of them. Some things to keep in mind: 1. Show up 5-10 minutes early to get your spot, it will fill up. 2. The class might start a few minutes late, end 10-20 minutes later than scheduled--important if you're feeding a meter. 3. Check your ego & anxiety at the door. There will be people more fit than you, at 1/3 or 2x your age--we are each going for the same reasons: mental & physical health. Do your modifications, take a breather, it's all cool, no judgement. If someone does judge you, it's their problem, not yours, so who cares? 4. Take your time. I'm no weakling & have taken well over a thousand yoga classes during the past 3 years, in addition to my other fitness routines, and these classes are still hard. 5. Drink plenty of water 6. Enjoy the happy glow that can last at least another full day Bonus: my husband is happy that I'm enjoying yoga again, instead of feeling grumpy due to issues at another studio. There's no sink, so bring a spray bottle & wash cloth to mop up yourself afterwards. Single classes are $12, a 20 pass is $200, unlimited is $95; prices cheaper if you're a student. Entrance on Tulane.
