Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT GO HERE!!! A visit costs $120 and apparently some ruined…read moreclothes and pillowcases over many days, being lied to that she is not responsible for any of it, and being threatened with the police and gangbangers.
Ghetto, smells bad, Alma will say anytime you suggest is good to come in but when you arrive she says "30 minutes," 2 people are before you. Cluttered with rags hanging from angel figurines and CVS bags. No music or decor, everyone awkwardly sitting in silence. She hasn't even started your service and 2 others walk in, she lies to them, "10 minutes." She doesn't wash or brush your hair, just roughly combs and rips it, doesn't understand or speak English well, and when you say something she doesn't understand, like your hair just fell when she attempted to put it up to soak in color, she laughs and says everything's ok. When you reiterate in Spanish she simply laughs that you speak Spanish instead of listening and taking what you are saying seriously.
Because she doesn't use a cape that covers and hair fell, I later realized I left with a stained arm and dress. Upon letting her know, Alma insisted the dress be dropped off for her to clean, and afterwards said the stain, which was the same color as the hair dye and wet, was there before she colored my hair, denying responsibility and in her attempt to clean it, ruined the dress, leaving it discolored and see-through in that spot but pretending like everything is fixed and she doesn't see any issues. Never offered a refund and got upset when asked. I woke up to a pillow case stained with the red cheap dye, which is not the color I asked for. She denies that she used any reddish color although I mentioned everything looked red the whole way through and have stains to prove it. Alma offered a refund in front of a coworker and client when I was in the shop, then when calling to follow up, hung up on me, ignored my phone calls and texted refusing to refund me, calling me "Lady," telling me "I WASTED TIME AND PRODUCT ON YOUR HAIR" in all caps, that she was nice enough to clean the stain, that she has 20 years of experience therefore knows what she is doing, and threatening to file a police report because I am clearly trying to scam her. After a week of multiple showers and pillowcases being switched out, I sent her the attached photo of another stained pillowcase and she said I shouldn't be going to bed with my hair wet. Responding to her latest attempt to gaslight I explained that I didn't and that her $120 hair dye is continuing to damage my belongings. Regardless, anyone who has dyed their hair knows it can be wet a week after and shouldn't stain anything anyway. I then receive texts from her gangbanger relatives threatening to find out where I live!!! I usually dye my own hair but thought I would treat myself. No wonder she was the only hairdresser available on the day-of without an appointment in Ojai, probably the only thing keeping her in business. Do not recommend.
