These were no surprise costs and we ended up paying exactly what they quoted us, which is rare in the contractor world! And they were quick and stuck to their promised timeline. He helped us coordinate with the insurance company, and got to work almost immediately. I was shocked by how efficient he was at coordinating the different subcontractors who installed the floors, cabinets, counters, tile backsplash, painters, etc. It was like a well oiled machine with almost no days where work wasn't being conducted, including Saturdays. My wife and I went into the process of looking for contractors expecting we could be without a kitchen for months. Turned out, with Palatin, the whole renovation only took about 4 weeks! If anyone has been through a major renovation, and had to get temporary housing, you know there is nothing more valuable than limiting the time away from home... except the quality of the work. Luckily, Palatin did not disappoint in quality either. We LOVE our new kitchen. The cabinets are great quality and look amazing. The counters are beautiful. The backsplash is pure art, and the floors and moulding are exactly what we wanted.

Gary is not just a great handyman/contractor, he has truly been a godsend for me…read more I was in the process of renting out a house and had a decent list of tasks that I still needed to get done quickly, and of course as things go, more issues started to pop-up. Gary was able to fix everything not only in a timely, competent manner, but he and his painter Salvador went above and beyond to make everything look even better than I expected, at a great rate. I had Gary and Salvador help me install doorstops, replace doorknobs, fix incorrectly installed door latches, replace sinks and faucets and drains, and paint various shelves and cabinets around the house. It has been the greatest pleasure working with them both, and everyone that has seen their work (prospective tenants, property managers) have commented on how high-quality their work is. In fact, I believe that I was able to quickly rent out my house due to the work that they did. They saved me a ton of headache having to fix everything individually with different trades. I also started having Gary help me with tasks in my own house, which has continued to be a great experience. You can take a look at their paint job in my photos - they really did an amazing job. Gary from Quick Care Home Repair is beyond competent, efficient, friendly, pleasant to work with, and honest with the utmost integrity. He is incredibly talented... We honestly feel lucky we got to experience how he does business. He has set the bar so high that it's going to be hard to work with anyone else now. What made him different? Clear, consistent communication: Every evening, he gave us a recap of what was done that day and what to expect the following day and for the rest of the week. Updates during the day: He kept us in the loop while he was working (for example, letting us know when he was heading to Home Depot and when he expected to be back to finish a task). He's also just a genuinely kind and honest person. We had originally requested something very specific in our bathroom, and the tile crew made a small mistake. Gary caught it, called us that night to explain, and told us he would have his team redo it so it matched what we agreed on in our initial meeting....without us even asking. That level of integrity and pride in his work is rare. He remodeled our bathroom and bedroom, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Gary is now our go-to for anything construction-related. Gary is the best!

We first hired Eden Builders for a remodel about 11 years ago (reviewed on Yelp). Oren was our…read moreproject lead then, and we made sure he was our lead this time around too. This remodel was bigger than the first job. It wasn't easy because there were many funny little issues in addition to the significant problems needing to be fixed. From the start, they made sure to go over every single detail and explain what each choice would mean. We weren't the easiest clients this time around because we changed our minds so many times, but it was never a problem. They were kind and patient throughout, and always had good workarounds for every issue, just like with the project 11 years ago. The job just concluded last week, and the work is top notch. I cannot express how much I hate doing this kind of project, but Oren and Eden Builders made this as tolerable as can be. Hopefully, it's not going to be anytime soon, but the next project will be with Eden Builders too. Thanks Oren and team for another amazing job.

We had a vision, and Mike brought it to life!…read more We've tackled our fair share of remodel projects over the years, but nothing quite prepared us for the leap into a complete, ground-up ADU build. We knew this wasn't a project to hand off to just anyone, we needed a true expert, someone who could steer us through every twist and turn with confidence. That's exactly what we found in Mike. From our very first meeting, Mike had a calm, reassuring presence that told us we were in good hands. He listened closely to our vision, asked the right questions, and laid out a clear path forward that immediately put our minds at ease. And trust us, our minds needed easing, we came to him with a steady stream of nervous, sometimes repetitive questions, and he never once made us feel like a burden. He answered every single one with patience, warmth, and genuine reassurance. Communication was a true highlight of working with Mike. He kept us updated at every stage, so we always knew exactly where things stood. What could have been an incredibly stressful, all-consuming process instead felt manageable, even exciting. He also took the reins on coordinating with city inspectors throughout the entire build, handling all the back-and-forth so we didn't have to lift a finger. That alone lifted a massive weight off our shoulders. And the icing on the cake? He finished the entire project ahead of the estimated timeline, without ever cutting corners on quality or care. If you're on the fence about a big build like this, let us save you the trouble: call Mike. He turned what could have been an overwhelming experience into one we're genuinely grateful for, and the final result speaks for itself. We couldn't recommend him more highly.

It was open, modern and made for entertaining. We just didn't know whether anyone could deliver it. Mike did. He redesigned the whole layout around how we live. Today it's a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with an open floor plan, a real laundry room and the ensuite master we always wanted. Every time I walk through it, I'm amazed at how different it feels. One thing that set Mike apart was the 3D renderings. That was a step above what we expected. We could see the layout before anything was built, and Mike could make any adjustment we asked for with seeming ease. We reviewed the changes quickly and landed on the perfect layout. We never had to guess what the finished home would look like. We were nervous about hiring a contractor. We'd heard the horror stories about unreliability, poor work and overpaying. Mike put those fears to rest early. He listened closely, answered every question patiently, and never made us feel like we were asking too much. We felt like partners with him, not just customers. He cared about the outcome as much as we did, and he kept working until we were happy. If you have a vision for your home and need someone who can design it and build it, call Mike. He was a blessing to work with, and we now have our dream house. We were so impressed with the process that we immediately started a 1000sqft ADU with MDM that was just completed. We recommend him without hesitation.

(Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!

I was first referred to Preferred Builders by my tax preparer, Happily, my first repair/remodel turned out wonderfully so I immediately started a remodel on my own home. Scope of work: remove all the carpeting in the house and install laminate plank flooring in those areas. The travertine flooring in the entry, kitchen and hallway had large craters which collected dirt and water residue after washing. I had the floor steamed, the craters filled and the whole floor resealed. I had a gasline installed in the kitchen and a new gas oven installed. I also had a complete bathroom remodel which included removing a huge jacuzzi tub and installing an elegant and safe walk in shower. For the bathroom Nir listened to my concerns and needs and then gave me two 3-D renderings of my options. Elba was fabulous and fast with permits, a purchase list and provided weekly job schedules and updates. I have now completed this remodel and I can't be happier. My Preferred Builders team was pure gold! I highly recommend Nir, Elba and Orel, the Foreman. Orel was caring and his experience was invaluable, Roman, (drywall, moldings, paint, flooring) Carlo (beautiful tile work) and Abnir were all professional, caring and kind. My remodel was reasonable and fast. I definitely recommend Preferred and I already have.

Later, "Jacob" called me back later and expressed condescending concern that I had ONLY a $150K budget. I told him that's where the budget starts, not ends and asked him what the true cost was. He responded back that it's between $300 and $450 a square foot. So I told him, "Okay, if my calculations are correct, if I go with $350 a square foot so I'm not at the rock bottom, and I multiply that by 600 sq ft for a small ADU, that is roughly $210K for a price starting point with your company?" "Well no it's not exactly... "Then what did I miss?" "Well there's all sorts of other things blah blah blah..." Overall the tone was condescending and he made it clear that I didn't know what I was talking about, when in fact I have 15 years experience as a home designer that designs and budgets facelifts on houses that are about to go up for sale. I have dealt with contractors for many, many years. Eventually I got fed up with his tone and told him to cancel the appointment. Roy and his team…read morewere very friendly and professional, they cleaned up at the end of each day, and they went above and beyond my expectations. A little backstory...My entire house had been under a massive reconstruction for over a year-and-a-half. During that time the water had to be turned off, killing all of the grass and most of the plants, and turning my entire yard into a dirt lot with overgrown weeds. It was a hot mess. I wanted new drought-resistant plants and artificial grass with a drip system instead of sod grass with a sprinkler system like I had before, but Roy also made some great recommendations that I hadn't even considered. The most significant was replacing my old concrete patio with a bigger patio made of sand-colored pavers. What a difference that made! I couldn't believe that the entire landscaping job was done in just five days, and Roy let me know he was also available afterwards for any questions I might have. Six weeks later, when I had questions about my new drip system controller and wanted to make sure my plants were getting enough water, Roy personally came back out to my house and walked me through all of it. When he left he told me, "Just reach out if you need anything else. I'm here." And Roy means it. He truly wants you to be happy with the work they do and will go the distance to make sure you are. Also, if there is something you'd like done that they don't do (like trimming very tall trees), Roy will have a referral for you. I'm so happy I found Home Sweet Home. Not only did they turn my ugly dirt lot into a beautiful yard again, but it looks 10 times better than it did when I first bought my house in 2007! Thanks, guys!
