Highly recommended. I've been on four trips this year and there are days that you don't catch fish but that's not because the crew isn't working for you. I've had a lot of fun and they taught me a lot that I used elsewhere. read more

Took my family out with Captain John and first mate Jake today. We boarded the boat at 2:30 and left promptly at 3. After about 20 minute ride we were on fish. It was my step daughters first time on a charter and the had great time. Capt John made moves when the action slowed and kept trying to find fish when we hit a slow period. Both he and Jake did a great job netting fish keeping track of everyone's catch. Jake did great job filleting our fish. Walleye had good size and caught a couple really nice ones. Boat was clean and ran without issues. Would not hesitate to bring my family back. Recommended the perch pirate to a couple in our hotel we were staying at. Thank you to the crew!! read more

Hands down the worst experience fishing I've ever had... And it's not just because the fishing was slow. The mate did NOTHING but distribute poles and bait and land the occasional fish. Most of the time he spent on one side of the boat, fishing with the old-timers, none if whom were catching anything either. the first rod he gave me was defective. Before I cast out for the first time it broke again, and he pounded it back together and told me I'd it happened 3 more times he'd give me another. After it happened a second time I told him I wanted a different rod/reel, which he begrudgingly gave me. But the rig was bad... Had no weight, and any attempt to rectify this was ignored. The second reel was also defective as the bale kept getting stuck open. It was all just a hot mess. When we weren't catching a thing the owner came on the PA system and tried to take a vote to see if anyone wanted to "call it a day" at 11:40... We were supposed to be out until 2. Everyone wanted to stay out, but he started to head in anyway, stopped again over the "dump" and then HE decided that we were just going back in at noon... Cutting our time two hours short. The mate on the way back passed his tip bucket before he cleaned up anything. We passed it, too... When he took my rod out of the holder to put it away, the line... Sans correct rigging and weight, snapped on his hand. Great equipment. We had to pay to go out, pay for bait, pay for our tackle, and pay for two hours less than what we were promised. Talk about piracy!! NEVER again. Use Edward John or A&A Charters. We went with A&A yesterday (8/12) and KILLED it with the walleye catch. The fish are there, but these pirates are lost at sea. read more

The water is kind of murky but it's apparently safe. Along with the beach is the park. There's some great views. It seems like a safe area. There's usually someone on patrol. It has a public bathroom. It doesn't reek of piss. They charge for parking but you can park for free on a side street.

So in order to ride Ravine Flyer ll you must have one of the point cards as this coaster requires 4.5 credits for each rider to join in on the fun! The coaster starts off just like anyone other one with a short ride over the transfer track to the lift hill that provides a stunning view of Lake Erie just as your about to drop to head straight into the bridge that crosses the 4 lane state highway 832 right after you cross you do a good turn around and head back over the highway again for some more coaster action that's complete with a tunnel or two to keep things even more interesting! This really is up there with some of the best wooden coasters I've ridden across the country as you get a good amount of airtime throughout the entire ride it's super smooth for a wooden coaster and the fact you cross over a 4 lane highway is just awesome! Went on the 2 PM until dark evening run. Boat capacity is limited to 17 anglers. 6 foot social distancing was clearly marked on boat safety railing. I felt there was plenty of room to cast and boat was well suited for the task. Instructions for success were broadcast over the intercom and also demonstrated by the crew. Equipment was optional. I elected to use the gear and bait provided. Following the crew instructions, with some practice, I was able to cast fairly well. Rod, reel, and rig provided performed great as I was able to land 3 walleyes my 1st time on Lake Erie. I highly recommend giving walleye drift fishing a try and I will be back on the Perch Pirate, for sure. read more
