i have been going to Dr. Lucas for years, but sadly, i will have to find another dermatologist…read more 2 weeks ago i talked to her and the medical esthetician (Mary) about creating a skin regime (now that i'm 30) for me and i left with purchasing $250 worth of serums, creams and sunscreen. after trying all of them, the sunscreen did not work for me. it was like schmearing cream cheese on my face and left me looking like a kabuki character. yesterday, i attempted to return the sunscreen (i had purchased 2 b/c they were on special) and i was not allowed to because i had not had an adverse reaction to the product. the only way you can return products is if you have a reaction to them! i am a hairstylist and i sell people professional products everyday. how would you feel if i sold you some shampoo that you didn't care for and i would not let you return it b/c your hair didn't fall out? that is absurd, especially since professional products are backed by the manufacturer. i cannot support a practice who rips off their patients. PS - the questionable sunscreen is La Roche-Posay Anthelios SPF 40. its like cream cheese!

Let's just say that I don't think I've ever left a doctor's office more stressed. Also, let's say…read morethat Dr.Roberta Lucas is a quack. Again, I'll say that their billing department is so stupid that they sent me a bill for 300 dollars since they forgot to ask my birth date which according to them makes them unable to bill my insurance. I made an appointment here to get facial acne and some warts taken care of. I left without having gotten rid of either. When I told Dr. Roberta Lucas about my acne problem she launched into a LONG rant about how pasteurized milk, unfermented soy, and sugar causes acne and "according to her theory" warts. So she told me I could not eat any sugar, dairy or unfermented soy. Before I conformed to this lifestyle changing diet I did my research. None of what she said was based on ANY credible research that I could find. So I went the place SHE told me to look for information which was Weston A. Price Foundation. The Weston A. Price Foundation is headed by a PhD nutritionist (doesn't sound bad) and a woman with a Master's degree in...English. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Wow, I thought someone who had gone through Medical school would know a little bit more about the scientific method and scrutinizing sources of information. To top it all off, when I told her I didn't want children she stared at me and told me that I might change my mind. Ah, I love me some judgment in the morning.

I had a fantastic surgeon in David Johnstone, who left the hospital many years ago. VERY capable…read moremedical personnel. The "support" and management? Terrible, awful, unprofessional, condescending. Know this: if you dont stay on top of critical appts yourself, dont expect them to proactively get this organized for you, dont expect pending appts to be listed in the app as thry should, and be prepared for unreturned phone calls, long hold times. Things dont happened they tell you will happen. When you have to call back to push them to downstairs they're supposed to do yoy get attitude and condensension. I think the LACK of any rankings in US News Snd World report says it all. If it wasnt for Dr Gordon in gastroenterology, Id never set foot in thst hospital again. If youre having real issues, go to Boston. Some of the world's best facilities are there, and the supportive staffs are on point everyday, and all the time.

Care at Dartmouth Hitchcock, particularly specialty, emergency, and trauma are always excellent…read more The medical staff is always amenable and helpful in any way possible. That being said access to quality Care is atrocious. I have had a referral from March of 2026 to The allergy clinic the appointment has been canceled and pushed out three times the last time I was offered a new appointment to replace one on November 11th 26th with either April 16th or May 5th of 2027. earlier this week I discovered appointments that I had in my calendar which I knew I scheduled approximately 2 weeks ago we're not in my record. Reestablish appointments which I've been going to every two weeks for almost a year, required me to spend almost 45 minutes on the phone and multiple phone calls to get the appointments reestablished. This is not the first time that appointments with the physical therapy department have just disappeared. Twice I have shown up for appointments and been told they don't exist. I have also had that experience in ophthalmology when bringing my mother to regular appointments that she has every 12 weeks. I would add I have brought my mother in for scheduled appointments in ophthalmology. She is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. . On one occasion the doctor she was to see entered the department at 9:15, having been on rounds with residents that morning. We spent over 5 hours in ophthalmology and of that she spent less than 45 minutes with providers. Billing is also an ongoing issue. I am currently trying to sort out over billing issues for my mother which are looking to be in the $30,000 to $50,000 range. I am a veteran, and my billing is through the VA referrals at Hitchcock. I have had issues with their billing company billing both the VA and Medicare I have had them place me into collections even though I did not actually owe them anything. And at least several times a year I get notifications that they have not handled the billing properly and the billing has been declined even though there is a valid referral to the hospital. Despite multiple times having to deal with this, I waste a significant amount of my time making calls to try to correct these errors that are not of my doing. Considering that it's estimated they make 1.4 billion dollars per year I find it unfathomable that there level of service to their consumers outside of medicine is so atrocious. I am also aware that many of their employees feel misused and underappreciated by the administrative staff of the hospital. I do not know how that affects long-term continued excellence in care, but I can't imagine it's going to be beneficial in the long term.

Staff can be short and rude but so are most of the people they deal with. They have experts in all types of medicine and other than going to Boston one of the more complete hospitals in the area.

They gave me a resident. Ok I understand this person is learning but this person seemed to be more concerned with getting me out of there and heading on his vacation to Europe. Kid word of advice, "If you can't keep your mind on your job when you are 27 years old because you need a vacation perhaps this is not the right job for you." Very quick patient assessment, he missed parts of my body on his scan on my skin, was too concerned about documenting his findings, fought with me about the prescription the last experienced dermatologist gave me the last time, filled it, gave me the wrong prescription, gave me no instructions, forgot to have me pay for the skin tag removals and walked out of the room 2. I went to the front desk because I knew I had to pay for the cosmetic stuff, but they said, 'No you are OK" 3. 3. The billing department called me obsessively the following Monday (I had the work done on Friday) twice a day everyday till I called them back. They called me on my cell during work while I was at a client. Sorry kids not dealing with you. Word of advice to billing, "When you F up and don't collect send the patient a bill first. If they don't pay send them to collections then have collections bug the crap out of them. However, don't try to cover you own behind by unprofessionally calling literally one hour after the fact (I left at 4 PM on Friday, they started harassing me at 9 am on Monday)" Word of advice: Have the attending come in after the fact and check everything. Dartmouth you did a crappy job I would recommend avoiding the residents.

After meeting the practice lead physician briefly, his respectful approach and interaction was much appreciated. Had I known his demeanor- I would have been in for an appointment 18 months prior, when he first began. I am sad I did not recall his name. I was fit in after being placed on a cancellation list. I appreciated that Olivia asked this physician into the room to double check an area on my face that was questionable for skin cancer. I was comfortable with their explanation and appreciated the education provided to make an informed decision to go ahead with the biopsy. The office is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful and greeted me upon arrival. The entire experience was nothing less than positive. Free parking across the street was a real plus! I question the other review listed from 5 years ago- from a person who evaluated this practice residing in California??- that seems like quite the distance, however, I would recommend another visit with this new team of professionals who deliver exceptional patient care.
