Doctor Sam's Eye Care

Doctor Sam's Eye Care

They were to busy with their cell phones. All their frames are double the price of the shops in concord. I got myself and daughter a pair of glasses for under the price of just the lens prescription ($498) at Dr. Sams, from Vision Works. And for reference I'm 52 years old and have had corrected vision since age 5, so I've been to many optometrists in my life. This has to be one of the worst experiences I've had trying to get glasses for my myself and daughter. Buyer beware. You'd probably get better service and more affordable glasses at Wal Mart.

I have been wearing glasses for over 35 years and the set up was extremely unusual, prior to seeing Dr Sam. I sat in their waiting room for over an hour for my appointment. Prior to seeing Dr Sam, I saw 3 techs. Finally, when I saw Dr Sam for about 5 minutes, which was a minute was he washing his hands, he did not check my prescription to see if it was correct. Though he did do is look at the health of my eyes. Never have I had an optometrist not check the prescription or give me the exam themselves and just look at the health of my eyes. My prescription was incorrect, and I purchased glasses and sunglasses (the sunglasses and lenses cost over $900). Then I stupidly took my fancy frames and had the prescription by Dr Sam's installed in my expensive glasses frame costing over $900. I cannot see across the living room with the prescription in my expensive frames. Dr Sam's is not the place to have your eyes checked. Also, Dr Sam himself called to fire me as a client telling me I need to go to Dartmouth-Hitchcock for my eye care needs. I have no health issues with my eyes and require glasses to be able to see which is supposed to be what Dr Sam's bread and butter. Avoid this medical practice because they stack up patients for their gain and disregard the patients' needs.

I am deeply disappointed with highly unethical and unprofessional treatment my wife and I received…read morefrom Reed Optical https://www.reedoptical.com/ at both Clermont Office and the Sunapee Office. We first visited the Claremont Office in May, the examination was extremely quick and hasty. It was definitely the least thorough examination we have ever experienced. When we arrived to pickup the glasses (4 pairs in total) they were all wrong - they were definitely worse than our old pairs! We were advised to try them which we did but after a few days it was even more clear that they were all wrong. We requested another visit with the doctor to fix the problem. That time we went to the Sunapee Office. The examination was much longer. We pickup up the glasses two weeks later. My wife's glasses were not perfect but there was an improvement over the previous pairs and my wife decided to keep them. I got two pairs - one was OK but the other one, for driving, was terrible, much worse than the previous one. The prism correction was set incorrectly and I saw double image! They advised me to still try them at home which I hesitantly agreed to, but after a few days, it was clear they did not work at all. They finally agreed to partially (70% rather than 100%) reimburse me for the wrong pair of glasses. I also used my vision and medical insurance allowance, which means that now I am not eligible for insurance coverage for the next two years! Highly unfair, basically cheating I have no driving glasses but they costs me hundreds.
