I've been coming here for years and can't believe I've not left a review yet. Today I stopped in by myself and had lunch. The fajita taco salad was magnificent. I was not expecting such a great creation. I would definitely order it again. In the past, I've had the beef and chicken enchiladas, which have been delightful. The chicken Colorado was very spicy and I loved every bit of it! We have had many celebrations here and the service is always spot on! I have even brought my dog and sat on the porch. Horrible experience at lunch today Monday Nov 4th. Female server could not be found, I needed more salsa, more torts, had to get up and find her. I also got a little small dot of sour cream on the fajaita set and asked for more and she charged me a buck. Then I finished and had to go and could not find her to get my check and after I did she never came back with my bill so I had to get up a 3rd time and ask her to please process my bill. Horrible, I say. Just Horrible I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it was a complete disappointment. The food looked and tasted awful. This was my first and last visit to Peppers Mexican Grill. I ordered the Fajitas Mexico with grilled steak, chicken and fresh shrimp sautéed with onions, bell peppers and tomatoes, served with pico de gallo, sour cream, our homemade guacamole, flour tortillas, rice and refried beans. My order took about .20 minutes to prepare and serve. Fajitas are supposed to be sizzling, and the aroma of the cooked proteins and vegetables should be noticeable and smelled before they get to the table. A light of mist of smoke from the hot skillet should be seen in the distance as the server approaches the table. These Fajitas had NO characteristics of Mexican prepared Fajitas. NO sizzle, NO aroma, and No life. The appearance and food presentation were poor, unsightly, and unpresentable being served at a Mexican Restaurant. The Fajitas looked like everything was cooked together in a skillet / pot, poured on a cast iron skillet, and served. The chicken, which lacked color and texture didn't look like chicken, looked like some mystery meat was dry, unappealing, and flavorless. The steak was also lacking in color and texture was very dry, extremely tough, and had no flavor. The shrimp was large, overcooked, and bland. The food was just awful. The condiment plate with rice, bean, sour cream, and guacamole wasn't well presented either, but the rice and beans tasted good. The chips and salas were also good. The chips were HOT and tasted very good. The salsa was perfectly tempered, had a very good flavor, and well prepared. Oh yea, the bottled Bud Light was very cold. I told my sever that I was not happy with the look and taste of the food. She apologized and called another male employee over. He asked what was wrong with the Fajitas. I said the Fajitas are awful, dry, not eye appealing, and uneatable. He apologized and asked if I wanted to try something else from the menu, but he didn't look surprised that I didn't like the Fajitas. The hallway to the bathrooms is lined with rugs and wet floor signs. Passing by the kitchen, met with a terrible odor! No one wants food coming out of a foul smelling kitchen. The back of the hallway nearest the bathrooms smells of urine. I watch a male employee unzip his pants as he approached the bathroom, if he is in that much of a hurry can I feel assured he will wash his hands? All the ac vents in the bar were dripping, visible water collecting on the floor, and a wet floor sign. Our chip basket was 2/3 broken useless, non-dipable chips. The food arrived and 1 of the two orders was not even the correct meal. Somehow they managed to exchange it for the correct meal in mere minutes, however the quesadilla cheese was hardly even melted! The other meal, enchiladas mexicanas, was sent back for being cold (mind you when the waiter put the plate down he warned !HOT PLATE! no, literally refried beans were COLD! Meal was taken back, heated? and brought back, still with cold beans. After essentially 4 failed meals we decided to speak with the manager, pay for our beer, and take our leave. The one positive I can give is our waitress. She tried to fix the problems, she was polite and waited on us well. read more

The dining area had quite a few folks, but it was not packed, and it was early at just after 6:00 and relatively quiet. My husband and I were seated and I requested a child's menu. The waitress questioned me and I explained it was for a to go order. I found our server to be rude and dismissive, almost irritated. We ordered and our plates arrived in 5 minutes tops! She then brought the to go order within the next five minutes... and there it sat while we ate. She didn't include the drink in our to go order and it was cold by the time we got home. Arroz con pollo had at least twice as much chicken as there was rice and it did not come out with queso on it, Have never ordered that dish anywhere where it did not include queso. Waiter seemed to know it was missing because he finished my sentence before I got the word queso out. We were then charged $5.99 for a side of queso. My first choice was street tacos but they would not allow me to choose different meats for the three tacos, they said they all had to be the same,like they did not have all the meat prepared in the back anyway??? Before I could even get comfortable in my seat they were already placing chips and salsa on the table. The chips were so fresh and the salsa was tasty! I ordered the Supreme Enchiladas but I should have ordered regular enchiladas. The supreme came with a bean, beef, chicken and queso enchilada which was topped with lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. Each enchilada was equally delicious and had its own flavor profile. My partner ordered the Chile Colorado and the beef was so tender I could cut it with my fork! Everything took less than 10 minutes to hit our table after we ordered and it was piping hot and fresh. I couldn't believe it. This is the taco salad with ground beef. I placed an order to go and waited for it. It was ready in minutes. I only live a half mile away and unpacked it right away. When I lifted it out if the foil wrap it was in, I found a huge puddle of grease underneath. It was like they didn't use a slotted spoon to scoop the ground beef with so there was as much grease as there was beef. The taste was good and it was a good size. When I finished it, again, there was a puddle of grease on the plate. I also got a bag of chips and a cup of salsa complimentary with my order. These seemed to be premade and sitting on the griddle to be placed on a cast iron plate. The flour tortillas were thick and heavy. Ordered a dosxx and wasn't questioned about ii I wanted a bottle of beer or draft but was served a 2/1 21 ounce beer. So was served the 2ffer for $10.50. Didn't really want that much beer. I have seen a few Pepper's spread across the Southeast. I was considering Tijuana Flats, which I love, but started looking at Pepper's menu. I decided to give it a try. There was no one at the bar so I was able to sit myself immediately. However, it was sweet tea for me, which was sweet and refreshing like it is at most every Mexican restaurant. The salsa was mild and bland. On a scale of 1 to 10 for heat, it was a 0.5. I ordered a cheese dip. It was pepper jack based and I enjoyed it more than the salsa. The burrito that caught my eye was the Fiesta Burrito. It came covered with 3 sauces - verde, cheese dip, and ranchero. I asked if my burrito could come with carnitas and not the chicken or steak option. The bartender made it happen and didn't charge me extra. The carnitas was the right choice in my opinion. They were tender and marinated in Mexican spices. Pepper's is a solid choice for Mexican in Tallahassee. read more

I went to Peppers Mexican Grill last night (Friday at around 5:45 PM). Although we arrived pretty early, the whole patio was full - so make sure to show up earlier or be ready to wait if you want to sit outside. We were happy with an indoor table, so we were seated immediately. The menu is HUGE and provides many options. I ended up getting the chicken burrito bowl and it was absolutely delicious and VERY filling. The food isn't cheap (about 12-16$ per plate), but the portions are generous. Overall, I would definitely come back to Peppers and would recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for some tasty tex mex! read more

After a long day at work it was great to stop in at Peppers and enjoy the festive ambience. It was almost full with a slight wait but when it was our turn to be seated, they managed a booth and had chips and salsa out pretty quick. I ordered the Peppers Burrito but asked for it al a carte because I don't like beans and rice, my husband ordered the fajita. Both were served fresh, hot and delicious. Ordering al a carte, the burrito came with a sauce that was very tasty and stuffed with flavorful ground beef but I was kind of surprised that it was missing the lettuce tomato and sour cream that comes with it on the dinner menu. They were more than happy to offer anything I wanted and showed me how to order it with the salad on top for next time. Great food, not great service. Came here for a special occasion only to self seat my group of 4 and then be ignored. The salsa guys dropped chips and salsa off but ordering drinks and waters i had to go up to the bar be no one helped us for over 10 minutes. They seem short staffed here or just not on it. We live this place, we started going at their 1st location over by Sam's Club. Their service has always been 5 stars and the speed of the food coming out is over 5 stars. They are great with our daughter which is a huge plus for us, being a family friendly restaurant is very important to us. My daughter requested to meet here for dinner, but since I have had less than awesome experiences here in the past, I was hesitant but agreed. We were seated quickly and the server took our drink orders and brought out the drinks and chips lightning fast. Chips and salsa were decent. While the food here was tasty and satisfying (7/2/2022), today (7/4/2022), 3 additional and clearly fraudulent charges were on the credit card used to pay for the bill. Our server, Malia, took the card and returned after pretty mediocre service to the table, 2 days later the charges showed up. I don't know if it was our server or another staff member that finalized the credit card transaction but I would avoid this place like the plague. I can get past the service provided, and we were looking forward to returning after the food was delightful but this experience has soured our taste for Pepper's Mexican Grill. I cannot say enough good things about Peppers! The food is always on point and service is great! Went with my family on Saturday night and we were seated right away. Within a few minutes of sitting we has chips and salsa and our drink orders were taken. We ordered guacamole, nachos, chorizo dip and and chimichangas. It was a ton of food for the 4 of us! I love that they give everyone individual salsa so if one person wants to add salt or hot sauce they can. Our server was on top of refills and we were never without drinks. I think peppers is great for a date night or family meal. They have the option to sit outside on their patio which is really nice. You have to check them out! read more

We had extra large portions ( actually it's the regular size ) husband had the Pelusa Texana with shrimp So large you needed to cut them in half tender beef and chicken. I've been to a few Mexican restaurants in Tallahassee now, and two of them being Peppers locations. Both have been very good. I went to this Peppers on a Sunday evening with some friends. The place wasn't very packed at the time, so we were able to be seated immediately and got our orders going. They were attentive and kept us checked on. Our waiter was especially nice, he seemed like he was doing his best to keep us satisfied. I ordered the Burrito Fajita. It was really good. It came covered in all of the usual sides that Mexican dishes usually have, and it was filled with all of the things a fajita has. It was pretty big too, so it filled me up! The restaurant was clean and had nice scenery due to all of the windows there too. Overall, if I'm back in the area, and wanting some good Mexican food, I'll give it another go! read more
