I'm not sure it's fair to leave this rate since this is not the the location I dined at. I visited the location in Governor Square, Mall. The young lady who took my order and the one who put it together did not seem to want to be working or that they valued my business. Now onto the food itself the flavors were fine. They were all there. The guacamole tasted good, but I did not like how it was just heaped on top of the chips which were also tasty in their own right. But I tossed several because they were so soggy based on how the guacamole was presented. The sign also did not indicate that the tacos came with sour cream. I did not want to ask her to prepare it again so I just ate around it. I didn't get to try the Elote but I wish it was served off the cob, or at least given that option. Stopped by due to a recommendation. Ordered Tacos de Asada, Pozole, and a Shrimp Quesadilla. The pozole was delicious, served with three hard tortillas for dipping and a spicy chili sauce. I did add some of the chili sauce to the soup and it gave it an edge. Tacos de Asada were pretty good. I have personally had better, but they did the job. Tortilla was almost a mixture of corn and flour? Salsa was not spicy but could've been the batch of jalepenos. Husband did not care for Shrimp Quesadilla because the shrimp was not fresh (previously frozen), but he still finished it. Would definitely come back to try more soups. read more

I visited for the first time today and I got the horchata, a birria pizza, a carne asada burrito and a tres leches cake to try a few things. the best thing was the horchata, it came in a huge cup! it was creamy and not too sweet. unfortunately, I did not like the tres leches cake :/ I took a little bite and the whipped icing was good but the cake itself tasted like it had been in the freezer. the birria pizza was okay. i think I'd like it more if there were some more additions to it. but it was better than the carne asada burrito. i didn't taste much in it besides the meat and rice, I didn't get a lot of flavor from the pico. their green sauce is pretty good. the cashier was nice and it was about a 20 minute wait, not so bad! This colorful set of food trucks alongside a gas station parking lot has some of the best Mexican food I've ever had in Florida. You sit outside on picnic tables in at atmosphere reminiscent of a state fair as Mexican music plays, waiting for your order number to be announced in English and Spanish. We've had tacos with beef, chicken and birria, burritos that are overstuffed with meats and veggies, and nachos. The meats are succulent and spiced to perfection. I have finally found the authentic Mexican food in Tallahassee that I've been looking for. Let the church say "Amen!" There aren't a lot of food joints out here that boast "authentic" Mexican cuisine however, the few I've had were good. Nothing really to go crazy over, in my opinion. And then, I made my way on over to Chile & Chili's. I tried their Pastor Pork, Barbacoa Beef and Cachete (Beef Cheek) tacos. I have never tasted such well-seasoned meat on a street taco before in my life. I didn't need to add salt, any other seasonings nor any salsa or sauces. They were surprisingly chock-full of flavor all on their own! To say I'm looking forward to my next visit would be an understatement. My previous favorite was a spot out in Pensacola. They're AMAZING (if you're ever out in Pensacola, trust......there's only one place the locals go for authentic Mexican food). But now.......I've found my own little slice of Mexican Heaven.....and it resides right here in the Capital City. read more

I pass this place twice a day almost every day and I've wanted to try it since I see all the cars and read the reviews. I ordered the Veggie Burrito and 2 tacos. It was ready very quickly. The burrito was HUGE and stuffed full of veggies. The 2 tacos were soft tacos. It was a bit spicier than I'm used to but not enough not to eat it. There is always a line this morning around lunch or dinner outside of this truck, so today I decided this would be my lunch stop. As expected, there was a line get my food. I placed my order of two papusas and two tacos and patiently waited. The food back to me in a relatively fast matter. There are outside benches around this food truck, but I have to eat lunch in my car. In addition to the cilantro and onion, they also included some grilled onions with the tacos. That was a nice touch. I had an asada taco and the cachete taco in addition to the two papusas. They gave a decent amount of meat in the tacos mama but honestly they were not that good. The cachete taco was a clump of fat with practically no meat. The asada taco was just bland. The papusas were a bit better, but they were mediocre at best. The accompanying cabbage was mediocre, as well. Service was friendly and even with the long line was relatively fast. Got tacos & Eloté. The Eloté was NOT Eloté so don't bother. It was a very small styrofoam cup of canned corn w slices, mayo & cotija. It wasn't bad but it wasn't Eloté nor was it worth 4$!? Pastor tacos were dry. The onions are grilled and they're stingy with the cilantro. The tortillas were delicious though. The asada tacos were better, great flavor- but the same amount of cilantro. The two hot sauces are green and red. The green has no heat but is yummy. It's got a limey tang that adds a lot to the tacos. The red one lacked flavor but was very hot. So I added a little red to a lot of green. Probably won't be back to this place since the tacos across the street are cheaper and taste better. read more

Everything here is perfect. Just absolutely perfect. My favorite, but not pictured, Is the carne asada burrito. Not only is the meat extremely juicy, tender, and flavorful, but the attention to the burritos assembly is amazing. Instead of wrapping it like a traditional chipotle burrito where they fold in the ends, this place lays the tortilla flat and layers all the fillings-with perfect ratios. They then proceed to pull each side in leaving both ends open and wrap the bottom in foil. This ensures u get a bite of everything without having to take a bite of each side. To top it off the tortilla they use is my fav kind. Is slightly thick and perfectly grilled. You just can't beat this place. The final cherry on top is the burrito was just under $9! read more

I was visiting Tallahassee and was very hungry so I opened my Yelp app like always and this restaurant came up. Anyone that knows me or if u look at all my reviews you'll see ya that Mexican food is my favorite food so when I saw the pictures for this place I had to try it out. I love the birria tacos and I hadn't had any in forever. I took my mom and granny there and we all ordered some tacos. We all loved them. The meat was so tender in birria tacos and I also got a couple of chicken tacos and a Cow tongue taco for my mom. We love them all! Finally made it to try their tacos. Heard so much about the birria tacos, so I got two plus two chorizo tacos. There was a line , but I still got my food quickly. I took the food back home to eat and that may have been a slight mistake. The tacos fell apart while I ate them. I know that sometimes places will double the tortilla for that reason. As far as taste, the birria tacos live up to their reputation. The broth that you dunk the taco in tastes like a delicious beef broth with some herbs added. I was annoyed by the taco falling apart, but pieces of meat soaked in beef broth is not a bad thing. I always love chorizo, so the chorizo taco was tasty. Lean on toppings, and again, fell apart while I ate it. Overall, it's definitely worth going. Next time I'll eat there. read more

One year later and this food truck is still one of the best and authentic foods in Tallahassee! They do not get enough recognition for how fresh, affordable, and flavorful their food is! I love how almost each menu item comes with caramelized onions on the side. They aren't too cooked and they aren't too raw, they give a perfect balance to the food. The pupusa's are great and I love that they come with a side of fermented cabbage that adds tons of flavor and crunch to the meal. I came with a friend of mine and there weren't many people here. Once we placed our order we had to wait a little while but we were completely fine with that because we knew the food was going to be fresh and it was worth the wait! The chicken sope was full of flavor! It was my first time trying it and I love how they are generous with the food servings.
