I'd like to give a shout out to Tricia who was working the self checkout area today…read more The Michelob Ultra 24 bottles were on sale for $ 16.99 each if I bought two. When I was checking out she told me I needed the digital coupon to get that deal. While I have never had to use a coupon before when it comes to a better deal when buying two, I took her word for it. Because I've never downloaded the Jewel app before, she literally took about five minutes of her time to get it up and running on my phone for me. Excellent service. Thank you Tricia!

There was nobody in line at the deli counter and everyone looked very busy by back there. They ignored me for about 3 minutes , even though I knew they knew I was standing there . But I was fine with that . Until they said okay the next number , is this is not my main Jewel I did not know where the numbers were as it wasn't usual and I had looked around and didn't see them. By then other people had come and they had numbers , and I said excuse me I've been standing here for several minutes and the lady almost shouted I'm sorry but you have to go by the number! Even though it had been plain I've been standing there a long time. So I said thanks I've decided to go to my old Jewel where I go. I left and I'm headed to my Jewel and I'm very happy because at my Jewel they're nice and they would have instantly said oh absolutely, the person who's here first, isn't that what the numbers are for typically? Is to get the first person. When you put rules before people especially as I was being so patient and understanding , it gives you a sour taste.

This Walmart was suspiciously clean and almost too organized, like someone summoned it straight out of a suburban dream. Jaime in electronics was very nice and helpful and the night crew shuffled around w pallets like retail workhorses waiting for dawn. The real win here.... (shhh... its a secret) No 10-cent plastic bag tax (like in Cali)!! Sweet, sweet Midwestern freedom!!! THAT ALONE made us so excited!! Another plus was how empty the store was during business hours... not very much traffic, which was nice!! The parking lot, though... eerily empty!!!!!!!!! The kind of quiet that makes you wonder if the town's residents only come out after sunset. A perfect stop for restocking your mortal supplies before the vampires wake.

I have visited the Supercenters in Niles, Lake Zurich, Palatine, Waukegan, Wheeling, and this one in Gurnee. My favorite one is the Lake Zurich one followed by the Niles one. I can't remember what I went to purchase at this Supercenter on my recent visit, but the couple of times I have been here, I have found what I went to buy without any problems. Of the parts of the store I went to, I noticed that the store was clean and properly organized. The checkout process was easy. I would return to this store for my shopping needs if I am in the area.

I was here today and I was getting food from the Hot Bar and I noticed that one of the tongs used…read moreto pick up food fell into the corn (handle first). I guess this is a reasonable thing to happen and go unnoticed but my issue is that when I informed an employee, all she did was replace the tongs with a new clean one. She was about to walk away but I stopped her and told her that the entire thing of corn needs to be thrown out and replaced, fortunately she listened to me and took the entire container of corn out and brought it to the back to (I assume) be replaced with a new one but just the fact that their employees are not trained on what to do if the Hot Bar food gets contaminated like this is a major red flag. I know a lot of people do not wash their hands before touching the tongs and scoopers at the hot bar. For example, I saw someone who does construction and he had dried concrete all over his hands walking around the store as if that was normal. Also I was looking at the containers of pasta from the deli area and some of them had way too much oil put in them. They are priced by weight, not only does this make them cost more as you are paying for that oil that you cannot eat, it also makes the pasta much more unhealthy as it is not recommended to eat that oil. Also I am concerned about how often they change out the food from the hot bar because one time about a year ago, I got food here and the rice was rock hard and the potatoes were extremely stale. I went up to the service desk to speak to somebody about this issue but nobody was there. Something I do like about shopping here is that the store is much more modern than the Jewel on the South East side of the property, it looks more inviting and the employees uniforms are much better looking than Jewel's. Also some of the employees are really helpful and have nice personalities, especially the cashier named Jen or Jennifer. My favorite cashier was named Keel but I haven't seen her in over a year. Also Briana was super helpful while bagging my items.

Lewis Fresh Market certainly isn't one of those cramped little stores. Has a lot of produce and other items. The prices aren't the best but they're pretty comparable to other places. Best thing is the produce because it's all fresh. It's comparable to the Cermak Fresh Markets. There's a lot of Mexican and other Latino stuff in here along with some other countries too. Has quite a lot to go through so you can find many good items. There's a grill to order tacos and tortas. Also there's a hot bar and salad bar. Other popular areas include the bakery where they cut fresh loaves. Has even more produce outside, especially when they have pumpkins in autumn. The prices are okay for being fresh. For sure we could go here again if in the area. It's got a couple locations, including this one on Grand. The produce is considered to be the best stuff.
