On Saturday I went on line to order a pizza but could not edit the time for pick up....no big deal,…read moreso I phoned the order in. Requested a large, thin crust pizza with onions only on 1/3 and a greek salad. I got a call back 10 minutes later saying the "chef" says she can only do 1/2 with no onions.....really! I told them to leave off the onions completely. Arrived to pick up my pizza but the power had just shut down. I was told by the manager than she would only accept cash or an E-transfer. First I do not carry cash and second I do not have a bank mobile app. She said "there are lots of ATM's around". Keep in mind my pizza is sitting there getting cold. I am in my late 70's, dressed properly and do not look homeless. I asked her to trust me and I would E-transfer when I get home. They already have my name and number. She said " I don't know you so why should I trust you. Their cost is around $10.00 to make and she was willing to let a $40.00 order go to waste. After all of this she finally said that maybe the credit machine would still be working, which is was, and I managed to pay. When I got home the pizza was regular crust, not thin as I had ordered. The manager was rude, arrogant and had no concern for customer service. I have always ordered my pizza from them but this is the last time. Saffron now has my business going forward. Awesome staff there.

So I went to Saffron in 2019 and had Butter Chicken so sweet I didn't eat it and left. (No one…read moreasked me if another dish might suit me better.) Six years later my wife and I decided to try again. Me: I was here years ago and I found the dish I ate too sweet. Is it possible to get my food without sugar? Sweet Waitress What was the dish? Me: I think it was Butter Chicken Sweet: There's no sugar in our Butter Chicken. It's made with tomato paste, ketchup... Me: (after she had finished listing ingredients.) Ketchup is almost pure sugar. I've been eating Indian cuisine for the large part of two centuries and in many cities on two continents. I cook northern and southern Indian dishes. I've taken classes, have several cookbooks and subscribe to the better you tube channels (I recommend Swasthi's.) Ketchup is not an ingredient in Indian food. I asked if there was ketchup in several other dishes and was basically told that the Korma was my best and only choice. There was ketchup even in the tandoori chicken. (There is an exception. There is a little chopped onion salad that is often made with either tomato chutney or ketchup.) Korma is a light sauce usually made with yoghurt and maybe a little cream. This was thickened with flour. So much flour that it reminded me of the time I tasted the paste in nursery school. The best word to describe it is "glop." To the many people who wrote rave reviews I beg you to take the ferry to the city and go to one of the many fabulous Indian restaurants there. Swad in West Vancouver is closest and the best. Vij's is amazing but very pricey. Sula and East is East are both terrific and you will pay the same as Saffron, maybe a tad less. My wife had the dahl. A lentil dish. It had a very strong flavour of...you guessed it---ketchup. We asked and, yes, it was, in fact, ketchup. The service was lovely. The naan bread was very good. Neither of them contained ketchup. We were pleasantly impressed by the wonderful view from the patio overlooking Porpoise Bay. The service was very welcoming and friendly. We ordered the fish and chips that we noticed other customers were enjoying as well as a glass of white wine. While waiting for our meal we enjoyed the lovely view of the mountains, bay and boats while sipping on our glass of wine. Everything was perfect! The meal arrived and it was beyond my expectations. I rarely order fish and chips and I would definitely order it again at the lighthouse pub. The fish was delicious and the fries were perfectly crispy. The portions were great for me and my big appetite. The price was reasonable for such a lovely meal and atmosphere. I look forward to going back to eat there again on my next visit.

Lovely pub located on the Sechelt Inlet wharf, right next to the seaplane airport…read more Amazing views of the Inlet, especially at sunset. The menu is quite large, lots of mains and handhelds to choose from. Our group ordered the salmon burger, beef burger, beef quesadilla and pasta carbonara. All was good and tasty. Especially loved the yam fries!! Our only complaint was the wait. It took a while to get our drinks, and also to order the food. For drinks I ordered a lavender coconut margarita, it was quite strong and a bit too salty. The others had different beers so no issues on that side. Overall a good place to have a relaxed meal.

I love Greek food and have wanted to try this restaurant for years. It's got a nice dining area…read moreinside and outdoor patio. We ordered takeout. Service was prompt, everything was ready on time. The calamari was good, everything else was only ok. The dolmathes had an odd-looking sauce on them and didn't taste like others I've tried. Chicken souvlaki was ok but the roasted potatoes were barely browned. The Greek salad needed more dressing or more zingy dressing, and it would have been better if the feta had been left in bigger pieces: it was finely cut up and added an almost grainy texture. The baklava was disappointingly soggy and it seemed like a simple syrup was used rather than honey. Know before you go: a gratuity is added on takeout. I don't like giving a bad review but with just a few small changes this restaurant could be so much better.

Leo's Tapas & Grill blew me away…read more My daughter and I went for my birthday dinner - our first time at Leo's, even though we've lived in Gibsons almost a year. What a mistake waiting so long! We had the seafood platter (divine), several tapas (delicious), drinks (fantastic), and dessert (perfect ending). The portions were generous, the food was fresh and bursting with flavour, and everything was beautifully presented. What truly made this night unforgettable was the service. It was honestly some of the best I've ever experienced - from our server, to the hostess and even the manager ... everyone was genuinely kind, professional, and attentive. The atmosphere was cozy and clean, with a relaxed, family-run charm that made us feel totally at home. I'm officially obsessed. Do yourself a favour and eat here!
