Be sure to ask for the homemade hot pepper if you like it hot, and do not hesitate to order the lasagne if you are very hungry. Everything is amazing, cozy, clean and friendly. On this particular evening, my wife and I went with my Brother-In-Law to Antik-Lokales. On the way to the restaurant, my B-I-L was telling me how it was Antik-Lokales who brought widespread pizza delivery to the Darmstadt area. Consequently, I was absolutely obliged to order pizza! Of course, I don't really need an excuse to order pizza!! And, on that note... I ordered the Lokales Pizza. My wife ordered the Lokales Salad with an added portion of Fried Chicken Breast. My B-I-L also ordered pizza; something spicy I think!? Anyhoo, we were all very happy with our food. It all arrived to our table hot and fresh and was all delicious!! In fact, I can honestly say that the Lokales Pizza I had was literally one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten!! As advertised, Antik-Lokales has a very rustic vibe going on; lots of dark, heavy wood architecture and dark lighting with candlelight flickering on tables. A really great place to settle-in and snuggle in a bench seat and have a hot coffee or even a good, perfectly chilled Pilsner. As a soldier, I served six years in Darmstadt and sadly, this was only my first visit to Antik-Lokales. I'm quite upset at my wife and B-I-L, because of this! Had I eaten in this restaurant during my time in Darmstadt, I would have certainly become a regular patron!! Great ambiance! Great service! And, great food!!! It was a Saturday evening and we booked the restaurant for a large group of about 25 guests. We had not eaten at Sole D'Oro before but were briefed beforehand that their food was really good. So, we had somewhat high expectations going in. Our entire party ordered from the restaurant's regular menu. The staff really went the extra mile to making the night a success. They prepared special appetizer trays for each table and brought out baskets of fresh pizza bread. All of the food was prepared timely and meals came out quite quickly given the large volume of simultaneous orders going in. Everything was hot and fresh! Everything also tasted very good! In fact, had I not within a few days prior to eating at Sole D'Oro, ate probably the best pizza I've ever eaten, I would be rating Sole D'Oro Five Stars. But, because Sole D'Oro is a "Pizzeria," and I must rate it against the other Five Star gem, I am giving it a solid Four Stars! Sole D'Oro is very good, but as far as pizza goes the other place won that battle, hands-down! It was clean and well stocked but man, IT. WAS. TINY! All things considered, I would definitely eat at Sole D'Oro any day of the week!
