This spot is a real hidden gem. Situated just at the corner of Pizzo's main Piazza Della Repubblica. Really clean and super hygenic (reffering to the covid situation) The owner is so funny and she does speak English too. Prices were very affordable considering the central location and the quality. We had a big antipasto(lots of cheese, salame, grilled veggies) A main course and we were already full! We got a glass each of local wine as well. We spent 55 euros. Don't get caught up in the piazza of Pizzo! This place may be a bit further than the view, but at least the food is fresh and well prepared. I've eaten at the other restaurants in the square and I can tell you they are tourist traps. If you are in the square, eat tartuffo, not lunch or dinner. Pepe Nero è un piccolo ristorante nel cuore dell'incantevole centro storico di Pizzo. In uno degli angoli più discreti di Piazza della Repubblica, e con alle spalle la chiesa matrice di San Giorgio, abbiamo creato un locale in cui i piatti della tradizione marinara vengono rivisitati ma non snaturati. Un menù ricco tra antipasti, primi fatti in casa e secondi che varia in base al pescato del giorno, così da mettere in tavola sempre il meglio del nostro territorio. Non mancano i piatti di carne, curati in ogni dettaglio. E non si possono non menzionare i dolci, di nostra produzione, per concludere in bellezza il pasto. Un locale in cui assaporare una Calabria fatta di materie prime eccellenti e profumi, il tutto in una atmosfera famigliare e giovanile.

Beautiful setting looking at the water. The service was fantastic and our food was delicious. We…read morewere starving for an early dinner (clearly American), and were the only ones there until 7pm when more people started coming in. The servers spoke great English and we loved talking to them. They made great recommendations and truly took care of us during our meal. This is a cool restaurant with a great menu. We will definitely come back if we are in the area.
