A couple of weeks ago my car battery died and after a few days of having friends and stranger jump me off every time I parked I decided to break down and buy a new battery. First I went to Advanced Auto and a battery there was almost $300 so I said nope, then NAPA who had the battery for a little over $200, then I called Pep Boys who sold me the battery and installed it for under $250. I am DONE! with pep boys on N tyndall pkwy! ITEMS MISSING OUT OF MY WORK VEHICLE I took my work vehicle to get a routine service this week to this location. Arrived around 2:30 in the afternoon. They seemed really busy and could not get to my vehicle by the end of the day so offered to leave it with them and pick it up first thing in the morning, "IF THEY CAN GET TO IT". So i have left my work vehicle with them overnight before on a few occasions, no problems. I give them the key, and always %100 make sure i lock the vehicle upon leaving. The mirrors fold down when you lock this vehicle, and fold open when you unlock. I arrive the next morning at 7:30 to check on the status of my vehicle. Of course its sitting in the same exact position i had parked it in the day before. Being pretty positive they hadn't even serviced my vehicle yet i asked for the keys because i could not wait and had to get to work. Upon receiving the key and walking outside towards my vehicle i notice that the mirrors are folded open, (as in somebody had unlocked the vehicle via the keyfob). as soon as i open the (mysteriously unlocked door) i noticed the center console is wide open and disheveled. At that point i knew some things were rummaged through and STOLEN. had a bag full of electrical tools that was nit picked through and also STOLEN. The story i was told by the location is this can be a bad part of town and druggies walk around at night and steal things. Yeah i get that, but who unlocked my vehicle with key fob? There was no sign of forced entry. And conveniently the place doesn't have cameras on that particular side of the building (where my vehicle was parked)...i cant prove anything, but seems fishy...either way i am never taking any of my vehicles here again. read more

Never, ever take your car here veterans and current active duty airmen & sailors. Got a "warranty" from them on a cooling system for 12 months. They refused to honor it when the gaskets went that were attached to the coolant system less than 6 months later. The value is not worth the savings. What I mean is it seems like a good deal and gosh was not as much as dealer but the warranty will not be honored nor will they do a true inspection and replace the hoses, gaskets, etc during the replacement. Then claim "the cooling system" is covered and that is how the warranty reads but refuse to honor it. read more

The people were very nice and helpful. They got us right in and provided the assessment of our car within a couple hours. We found the issue was covered under warranty so we didn't get the repair there but they buttoned our car up so we could drive it over to the dealership. read more

While traveling noticed a b bc ew clunking noise from the front suspension. Work was completed in a timely fashion.

I vowed that I would not return to this location because of a tire service issue I had. The manager responded to the review asking me to reach out to him but I had already taken care of the issue. However, because he took time to show concern, I gave them another chance to do some work on my other vehicle's TPMS that one other popular repair location in town could not fix even after multiple attempts and another location quoted me an unreasonable price. I must say, Pep Boys got it done right and I am very satisfied with the work and price. They have restored my confidence in them. read more

I brought my car in for no backlit lights on on my dashboard. Jesse, the person at the counter tried a few fuses that didn't work. He suggested a diagnostic test to further investigate the issue. He asked if i could bring it back Friday because he had more master mechanics. I brought it in at 9am and he set up a ride to/from my house and also fixed the car. I got great service. So I read the negative reviews.....AND... my husband and I were in from our of town and got a flat on our RV. Everything but Walmart was closed and Walmart said we could "get in line" and couldn't give any idea how long the repair would take....SOOOO This pep boys was totally empty..(possibly bc of poor reviews) so we took a chance! The guys were AWESOME and fixated our tire quickly. They gave us a great price and sent us on our way! I can't speak to maintenance and I sure they attempt to up-sale a ton bc that is pretty typical of all PepBoys...but if ya need a repair I would totally go back! read more

Had a nail stuck in my tire so i had called them near to an hour before they closed, they were very polite and understanding to my situation and found a way to fit me in. I will NEVER trust Pep Boys with my car again it doesn't matter which location it is, the one I took my car to has made me untrusting of them all! As I was preparing to go out of town with two of my children and two of my grand babies, I stopped to get an oil change and brakes. Upon leaving and having to come to a stop, I had no brakes!! Luckily I was able to slow down enough as not to hit anyone or get hit and immediately turned around to go back to Pep boys. I was told that they didn't bleed the brakes . This could have been a very bad out come for myself and my family ( I'm thankful to God that it wasn't) but I will never trust them to service my vehicle ever again. As far as setting the appointment up, everything was easy but my coupon I was supposed to get at the end and print out never came. Then when my husband got there they charged more than what it had said online. Not only that, we scheduled for 11am-and he got there right on time and was told there are a lot of cars ahead of him. What's the point of an appointment then? My husbands been waiting two hours already for an oil change and inspection and we don't even know if our car was seen yet! Very very slow service. After waiting one hour for the attendant to contact card services and get approval the entire shop decides to eat pizza after taking the tire off the car. Two hours of my life waiting on one tire to be replaced. Next time I'm going to Good Year across the street. read more

I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. When I go to pick up my car I asked about the balance and rotation because my car had been shaking when it got up to a certain mph. The manager then informed me that a balance doesn't come with a tire rotation. WHAT??? They then reported that they recommend I change my transmission fluid. I literally have a brand new transmission (3 months old). After I left the place I noticed my car was pulling to the right. When I got home I look at my front tire and it was low on air. I called the manager back he then informed me that his guy probably only halfway done his job!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! How do you rotate the tires and not balance or check the air!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. HORRIBLE SERVICE, RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES!! read more

This shop is completely incapable of managing resources and personnel. The waiting room is reminiscent of a back alley doctors office without the magazines. No seats are ever available because everyone is waiting hours for this place to complete jobs that should take a tenth the time. Telling people to come back in an hour then forcing them to wait 2 more hours to repair 1 tire is ridiculous. CS reps display little interest in ensuring a positive experience and appear more focused on doing the bare minimum to collect a check. Because of the poor managing team, wait times are atrocious. As previous reviews show this shop has a habit of scheduling appointments early and delivering grotesquely late. The absolute only thing keeping this place afloat is being one of the few places open on the weekends. Don't fall victim. Wait until monday to go somewhere else. Within a 1 mile radius are other shops with better satisfaction and a higher volume of customers all while being open weekdays only. I encourage everyone who has experienced the poor service here to leave a review and force regional managers to overhaul the roster or shut the place down all together. And if you haven't been to Pep Boys you should make up a negative review to support the many that have had to stomach this garbage. read more

BEWARE OF THE SHOP FEE I received a $35.00 shop fee for Strut replacement on the rear. This is just another way of padding the bill. Everyone has operations expenses so things should be figured into the price of the job. No just an arbitrary fee or percentage. read more

Tires & alignment. One of those times when you have to use a shop that you despise. Repair time was reasonable, alignment was not performed well. Had the job righted at another shop. I tell friends and family to stay well clear - some of them too have been bitten by their shoddy work. Don't even think of taking anything other than your work/beater/cheap car here if you have to go, else you're likely to be in for further repairs to "undo" their shoddy work. Steer clear. read more

The heating/cooling system in my 06 Chevy Equinox recently stopped working. I took my truck into PepBoys for them to take a look. The estimate was very clearly explained and the pricing was thoroughly reviewed. They called to keep me informed of the progress and had the work completed within a full day's time. The guys were wonderful and very professional. I was extremely pleased with their work. The total for the repairs was below the quote, which is unheard of. They definitely impressed me. I will continue to bring my truck to their store. Late afternoon, the Saturday before Christmas, I was involved in an accident. Long story short, I was directed to PepBoys on Tyndall Parkway in Panama City. I had to get back to Atlanta on Monday... The gentlemen at PepBoys gets an A+ for customer service. My Honda Accord was given a temproary fix at no charge and he also gave me advice on contacting my insurance company. The Service Manager & all his guys were so very nice and genuinely cared for their customer which I observed while I waiting. I am writing this review as I sit here waiting. I've been here 3 HOURS for an oil change! This is absurd! When we asked how much longer, they came out with our cabin air filter and talked about how it needed to be changed. Yes, after I've sat here as one of 2 customers for 3 hours I would love to shell out more money. I have now wasted 3 hours of my day here. There was two customers in front of me I was told it would only take 45 mins after an hour I asked how long it would take they told me they just had to put tires back on and it would only be 15 mins. Buyer Beware! Normally I do not write reviews, but once in a while you have such inconsiderate service, that you feel the need to warn others. I run a fleet of vehicles and needed a place that could do weekend service. Previous manager was great and gave us a great fleet discount. We shifted all of our fleet to this location. Sadly he's no longer there, and all our service and pricing advantage went away. We continued to experience the same issues that the other poor reviews have stated. All true, regarding poor workmanship, slow service and one particular employee who turned away our business, because he insisted on putting our new tires on the rear, even though our commercial DOT rules required otherwise. We've had to get rentals, in order to accommodate the service delays, even though one was the result of their employee breaking a part and having to wait for a new one! There was no offer for compensation. You would also think that with all of our fleet business already, they wouldn't try to push unnecessary repairs or parts, but they did, and to top it off, we've had to watch our invoices closely to make sure the fleet discount was being applied, since it was often missed. There's too much good competition in the market, to tolerate this type of service and treatment. We've now decided to pull our entire fleet and now go to a competitor. Don't buy tires from Pep Boys! I needed 6 tires for my RV ($3,556.42). The RV had different size tires when I bought it so I went to the owners manual which called out tire sizes from 245/80 R 22.5 to 275/80 R 22.5 tires. When I went to the Pep Boys I gave Wes Stewart and his boss from Atlanta, Victor, that information. Wes ordered the 275/80 tires, since he could get a good price on them. When the tires arrived and they started to install them, it was obvious that the tires were much bigger than the tires that were taken off. I told them when the tires were being mounted that the tires were too big and wouldn't fit in the wheel well. Wes Stewart said not to worry that they would fit. Unfortunetly, they started on the rear wheel and the tires did fit into the wheel well, but just barely. When they got to the front tires, the tires were so big that they were rubbing on the fender well. If the tire was turned right or left and the RV swayed at all on the air suspension, the tires rubbed on the fiberglass body. Wes even gave me screws to push back the fender well so it wouldn't rub just sitting still. I drove home with the RV (less than 4 miles) and it was obvious that the tires had to come off. I call Wes and told him the problem. He said he would check with Victor to see what they could do. After almost two weeks waiting, Wes said that there was nothing they could do to exchange the tires but he could try and sell them used. Now, I didn't expect them to exchange the tires for nothing, I expected a hefty "restocking" fee, but to say that there was nothing they could do after I told them several times during the changing process that the tires were too big is not right. Any professionally operated tire store would have not installed tires that were rubbing in the their parking lot and would have taken the tires back off and ordered the correct ones, even with a restocking fee. read more
