I was placed on an assignment with an engineering company and was let go. I was initially told by Regina AND the engineering company that it was due to lack of work. My days with the engineering company consisted of me asking for work to do and waiting around all day/week for work. I've reached out to Regina to ask for a new assignment but was told to stay with the company because they "really liked me" and "they're a great company". However, I'm now being told otherwise. After my departure from the Engineering company, I applied for EDD benefits, reason being: lack of work. Now I am told I will be losing my benefits as it was not due to lack of work as I was told. It's due to my performance. I reached back to Regina and was told "she had reached out to the company again after my assignment ended and was told they've changed their reasoning from lack of work to performance issues." All this which I was not notified of. Not from Regina, not from the engineering company while I was there. I find this very unprofessional as someone, ANYONE could've told me the truth but here we are going back and forth playing the blame game. Don't get me wrong, Regina is VERY nice and attentive but this whole situation is unacceptable and unprofessional. As Regina being my recruiter, I would've expected to be updated about this information and now I'll be losing my benefits and having to reimburse unemployment all because I wasn't told "they've changed their mind on their reason" whether it's the truth or not, I DON'T KNOW.

Well, I realized that I was covering for maternity leave so I wanted to clarify when my contract was up and if maybe I could extend it. Neither my direct boss or Searchpros had a clue what the contract between the two of them said. It took several emails and a phone call to get it figured out. The contract was for 6 months but I only worked 4 months because the gal had been out for two months already and returned by her 6 months. I thought Searchpros would provide me with a new assignment...nope. I pestered them weekly. Finally, I realized a month before the end of my contract I was screwed and needed to hustle up another job. Well, in this economy, it has been tough. I sent 78 resumes and got 4 interviews. I even applied with Searchpros for two positions and got no response. I have no job. I applied for unemployment, which covers some bills but not rent. I applied for food stamps. I am just really disappointed that I didn't get another assignment like other agencies do. I am panicking. I have not slept for days. All I do is search for work and look at my dwindling bank account. Considering temp work - check to see if they will actually give you another assignment once the first one is up.

I just had one of the most awkward and uncomfortable interactions with a recruiter from Pacific…read moreStaffing, specifically Elizabeth Mann. I applied for a position and received an email from her asking if I was looking for work and to call her to discuss opportunities. When I did call, it went to voicemail, but she returned the call within a few minutes. From the start, the conversation felt off. She told me her "team" received my résumé for an HR Coordinator position but that they already had two candidates in the final stages. That was confusing, since she was the one who reached out to me. She then began asking about my professional experience, my current role, and my previous roles. The questions themselves were fine, but the way she handled the conversation was not. Each time I tried to answer, I was either cut off mid-sentence or met with long, uncomfortable silence that she tried to down play by saying she was looking into other positions. It didn't feel like she was actively listening or genuinely interested. It also didn't seem like she had taken the time to review my résumé before calling, despite being the one who initiated the contact. I also asked her what OTHER roles they might have available, for instance; Customer Service, Administrative/Clerical, Data Entry, etc. she stillllll wanted to discuss HR Coordinator roles. If you're going to ask me questions about my resume, ask them in the manner of which you have first done your due diligence to review it fully, so you can properly ask me questions that relate to my experience and the variety of jobs posted available. Side note: I have 8 years of experience across training and organizational development, Non-profit sector administrative roles, HR Contact Center experience, and Executive Level Onboarding. So please cut the BS when you call people and act as though their experience isn't a fit, maybe learn how to ask proper screening questions. She mentioned having three HR Coordinator openings, but the way she described them didn't sound genuine, nor did it sound like she had any interest in assisting with finding an appropriate fit. She said she would reach out about one position only if the two candidates currently in the final stage didn't work out -- which felt unnecessary to say and was very passive. She also mentioned another role in Auburn, CA, but by that point, the tone of the call made it clear to me that continuing the conversation wasn't productive and truthfully a waste of my time so yes, I cut it very short and practically laughed at her because WTH why even call? or why keep asking questions if you're not even interested in doing YOUR job. Silly. Overall, the call was rushed, disorganized, and dismissive. Based on this experience alone, I'm not interested in pursuing any opportunities through Pacific Staffing, just like I told her over the phone. I ended the call respectfully, but it was enough for me to decide I would not recommend this agency.

Friday before a Monday start, they call to tell us the hire leveraged our offer for a pay raise! Incredibly un-professional company.
