Lazy staff, not interested in finding jobs for people. Probably sit there all day long talking with each other. Wish I could have their jobs

I had originally applied to a different position and Michelle really worked hard with me to find a role that best fits my experience and career path. I couldn't be happier!! Thank you Michelle for being so amazing and really doing your absolute, to make sure that I am placed with the best possible company and experience. I haven't worked Temp work before but Sedona really makes it so easy and efficient that my experience has been so easy and simple. Thank you Sedona and Thank You thank you thank you Michelle!! You are the BEST!!

Theresa Gutierrez wrote:…read more Thank you, MICHELLE, for working from the heart! This was my 1st 'temp agency' experience and I must admit, I was a little hesitant, because I've heard how "sales'y" some can be. However, Michelle never made me feel like she had a quota to meet. She took me in and met with me privately, and began asking questions, allowing me to explain the type of work environment I needed to be in, which would align with my personal life. Michelle listened intently - showing empathy. She even put her pen down a moment to look at me and connect - human to human. She didn't just run down my resume' of qualifications, which would have easily allowed her to place me in many roles, but instead, Michelle paid close attention to what I truly needed, and why. What I was looking for: I didn't want to jump around - I needed my next employer to be a fit that would last - with a growing organization who cares about people more than numbers. I needed something close enough to home, so I could walk my son's dog on my lunch breaks, and an employer who could match my qualifying salary. It wasn't necessary, but I was hoping to be placed with a "low-pressure type office environment, where I could thrive independently." Michelle met all my needs, including my unnecessary preferences! She brainstormed, then described the company to me. After I agreed, she moved quickly in terms of scheduling my zoom interview and providing me with onboarding paperwork. Most importantly, Michelle delivered with honesty and integrity. I look forward to coming into work each day, knowing I'll be among some really good people, who truly care about people. The President/CEO has even stopped by my office to see if there was anything I needed. I push myself to excellence, and my employer has already mentioned recognition of my efforts, which feels pretty darn good. I am so grateful to you, Michelle. True success only comes when you have a hand in helping others become successful, as well, and none of it is possible, unless you're working from the heart. Sincerely, Thank you, Michelle!

It's a decent way to get out of the house and perhaps escape the paralysis that comes with the meager prospects which most of the long-term unemployed face. Just don't expect that anyone's going to actually help you find a job, or even that these people are here to help anyone except themselves keep their own jobs. From what I can tell, they go through the motions in order to keep up appearances so the government funding continues. Compared to the truly effective approach of FDR in the Great Depression in creating actual jobs for people, this is a cruel joke of the current corporatocracy. Government gives lip service to the "general welfare" clause of the Constitution while awarding contracts to the Good-ol-boys club. If you do happen to jump through all the hoops to get a 1-on-1 with a counselor, as I did, be prepared for unexpected obstacles. I was interested in OJT and never got a satisfactory response or followup. I finally gave up in disgust. BTW, I just noticed that their phone number has changed in the last year or so. Perhaps a new company is running it, now. It used to be Arbor. I called at 4:30 today to get an answering machine...

At my in-person Interview with Carla Litton, at Advanced Financial, she asked me, what they told me my salary would be.  I reviewed my notes from my phone call with Evan and told her what he told me, $24.00, hourly. Carla Litton told me, it's actually $21 hourly- I asked Carla, "Is this still a work from home position?"  She assured me it was, after completing my 2-week training, I would have to be on the collection floor for 30 days and then I could work from home.  Then she turned around and pointed out to the empty desks and told me, "See, look, we have a lot of people working from home."  I asked her, "Why are those few working here?"  She told me, "Those are the ones who have had some challenges working from home." On day 3 - Training with Delbert Reed, he stated, "This is NOT a work from home job." He suggested I stay late that day to discuss it with Carla, and so I did.  Carla told me, "The boss wants us in now, we won't be allowed to work from home anymore."  I asked her, "Are there usually this many inconsistencies, or miscommunications, when hiring through Aerotek, because it seems like the most important aspects to consider, when finding a job is, 1) Salary & 2) Location."  Carla just brushed over my question by offering me more of a demotion, from Account Representative, to Customer Service, and then that way I could work from home after training, but then the pay drops even more, to $17.00, hourly. At that point, I wanted to be done there, but I planned to hang in there until I found another place to work. We, (myself and two other girls) sat through training with one of Advanced Financial's drunk employees. I mean, this lady was plastered and even spilled her alcohol on the training room table, from her "water bottle," then she stepped out to take a call, but instead took a 2-hour nap and never returned to the training room. The next day, our Trainer, Delbert Reed told us all about the drunk woman's issues and why they had to let her go. Mind you, this is Day-4 with Advanced Financial. Carla, Delbert and Danine, all Managers at Advanced Financial, spent at least half an hour complaining about some guy Aerotek hired, who used to work with them, (Advanced Financial,) some guy by the name of Aaron, or something like that - Who knows, it could have been Evan, or Ervin, or something like that.  Advanced Financial stated, we had to fire him for being a no call/no show and now he's working over there for Aerotek. On day 4, I was terminated for stepping out of training for an emergency call, because my son was hit by a car, off his skateboard. I even told Delbert after training, I had to take an emergency call - I apologized and I thanked him for his understanding.  Delbert said, he understands, life happens. That day, Evan Johnston called me to tell me Advanced Financial let me go, for taking that call. He asked me to email him my final hours, so I did, for 2 days of pay, June 15 & 16, 2021, at $21.00 10.25 hours, total and I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY FINAL PAY.  Today is June 22, 2021. It has been over a week and Evan Johnston, with Aerotek, has yet to submit my final pay: California State law governs, an employer must pay final wages to an employee who separates from employment, either voluntarily or involuntarily. I sent Aerotek my FINAL DEMAND for my final pay.  My next step is to reach out to my Attorney, to seek civil and criminal penalties for failure to comply with California Labor Laws, but also to collect my penalty interest payments, which California calculates at the employee's daily rate of pay and is calculated by multiplying the daily wage by the number of days that the employee was not paid. I have not been paid for the two (2) final days I actually worked, which were Tuesday & Wednesday, June 15 & 16, 2021 PLUS the four (4 ) days Aerotek has let pass by, without giving me my final pay.  The four (4) additional days are: Th, Fri & Mon, Tues, June 17, 18, 21 & 22, 2021. $21.00 at 5 hours per day, for two (2) days worked:  6/15 & 16., PLUS 6/17, 18, 21 & 22 = 6 Days total x $21.00 hourly, at 5- hour days: So far, Aerotek is required to pay me $630.00, provided they pay me no later than 6/23/2021. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS SHADY, LOW CLASS, DECEPTIVE, MONEY DRIVEN COMPANY.  It's no wonder they are doing the hiring for a sneaky, deceptive, collection agency, called Advanced Financial, which is under the umbrella of Grand Pacific Resorts. YES!!! That crooked, suffering, grimy, timeshare agency.  They're still at it, trying to sell timeshares, as if anyone needs one in this century. smh Questions, or concerns, I am here to help anyone from jumping into the coals of these two companys. It's unfortunate, but there are a few unethical recruiters out there. I can say that I've known and worked with Christine for over 7 years and she's the best I've experienced ( as a job seeker and as a hiring manager). She's usually the first person I recommend when a friend had recently been laid off. As a hiring manager I've found that Christine provides all the details you need to make an informed decision on a candidate. My most recent hire came from Staff Smart. - Christine is relentless. You'd be surprised how quickly other recruiters will give up on you.

In theory, corporate recruiters focus both on supply (individuals; prospective employees) and…read moredemand (contracting organizations). In reality, that focus feels overwhelmingly weighted toward the organization. To the point where if an individual meets a recruiter and isn't the immediate fit they are quickly forgotten. Such staffing thinking is short-sighted -- not only for the individual but for organizations as well. No such worries with Taylur. She's the real deal: sharp, substantive, and sensitive. While I didn't pan out for an immediate position, she has kept in touch with me and been responsive to my queries. In such a way she's being kind to me, yes; but she's also learning from my experiences as well, demonstrating she keeps pace with the market through every data point she can find. I highly recommend organizations work with her for tech leadership positions in SD -- and that individuals trust they are in good hands working with her.
