I just had one of the most awkward and uncomfortable interactions with a recruiter from Pacific…read moreStaffing, specifically Elizabeth Mann. I applied for a position and received an email from her asking if I was looking for work and to call her to discuss opportunities. When I did call, it went to voicemail, but she returned the call within a few minutes. From the start, the conversation felt off. She told me her "team" received my résumé for an HR Coordinator position but that they already had two candidates in the final stages. That was confusing, since she was the one who reached out to me. She then began asking about my professional experience, my current role, and my previous roles. The questions themselves were fine, but the way she handled the conversation was not. Each time I tried to answer, I was either cut off mid-sentence or met with long, uncomfortable silence that she tried to down play by saying she was looking into other positions. It didn't feel like she was actively listening or genuinely interested. It also didn't seem like she had taken the time to review my résumé before calling, despite being the one who initiated the contact. I also asked her what OTHER roles they might have available, for instance; Customer Service, Administrative/Clerical, Data Entry, etc. she stillllll wanted to discuss HR Coordinator roles. If you're going to ask me questions about my resume, ask them in the manner of which you have first done your due diligence to review it fully, so you can properly ask me questions that relate to my experience and the variety of jobs posted available. Side note: I have 8 years of experience across training and organizational development, Non-profit sector administrative roles, HR Contact Center experience, and Executive Level Onboarding. So please cut the BS when you call people and act as though their experience isn't a fit, maybe learn how to ask proper screening questions. She mentioned having three HR Coordinator openings, but the way she described them didn't sound genuine, nor did it sound like she had any interest in assisting with finding an appropriate fit. She said she would reach out about one position only if the two candidates currently in the final stage didn't work out -- which felt unnecessary to say and was very passive. She also mentioned another role in Auburn, CA, but by that point, the tone of the call made it clear to me that continuing the conversation wasn't productive and truthfully a waste of my time so yes, I cut it very short and practically laughed at her because WTH why even call? or why keep asking questions if you're not even interested in doing YOUR job. Silly. Overall, the call was rushed, disorganized, and dismissive. Based on this experience alone, I'm not interested in pursuing any opportunities through Pacific Staffing, just like I told her over the phone. I ended the call respectfully, but it was enough for me to decide I would not recommend this agency.

Friday before a Monday start, they call to tell us the hire leveraged our offer for a pay raise! Incredibly un-professional company. Couldn't be bothered to let us know this had happened more than a week ago! And for this "service" they expected to be paid nearly $30K. Unbelievable!

Leslie helped me throughout the hiring process and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to work with a recruiter.   From our very first meeting, I felt confident that Leslie had my best intentions in mind. Leslie is well-connected in the community and puts her heart into her work. She listened to my goals and what I was looking for in a firm. My connection with her was instant. I knew she actually cared about my skills and attributes, as well as what I needed in my next job. Leslie was able to provide me with several leads during our first conversation. This process can be very stressful and it meant a lot to me to have her guidance. I never once felt pressured to make a premature decision. Leslie is frank, sincere, and has a positive personality. These traits helped me tremendously throughout the process.

HR Director and the team frequently quit, which should let anyone know the company is doing something illegal. Facilities are HORRIBLE. Classrooms flood, and roofs leak whenever it rains. Wasps are in the ceiling. In one classroom, there was so much dry rot a student put their foot through the floor. Worst of all, it is a step up from prison. For example, students make shives in the dorms. Very easy to get drugs in the facility, and one student recently died of a fentanyl overdose. Another red flag! AVOID ENROLLING HERE AT ALL COSTS! You are better off going to a community college or an adult school.

They don't follow rules for people with disabilities. They don't do their job at all. They only care about the money they make. They don't follow your IEP. They screw you over. They lie to you the day you come here. They're not concerned about your safety. Minors have to sign a paper every two hours. They hide cameras in the dorm rooms, and in the dorms. They closed half of the girls dorms due to mold. They're understaffed. They don't care about their job. The kitchen staff don't wear gloves or hairnets when making food, they clean the dishes and then make people's food with their bare hands. Asthmatic people are not able to have allergy medicine to help reduce their asthma. They restrict your appointments on your first day they don't even remember you have appointments with the Wellness Center. They make you jump through constant hoops. I didn't start high school until 2 months later. They put me in distress this week due to the problems they caused on me coming back from campus after I left for an off-site appointment. This was ridiculous. The fact they will not allow you to have Ibuprofen or even allergy medicine for the people who have severe allergies that have a hard time breathing, half of the students have both asthma and allergies and they don't want to help us. The counselors, only 2 of them know what they're doing. They do not keep up with their stuff. They don't keep up with the students, they don't keep up with their work. Do not send your kid here or if you're an adult, stay away from here. This place is a literal hell on earth.
