Didn't find Gino, but... da Cut: Jaden sat me down 10 min. early asked a few questions and got to work. I could tell just by the way he was lining things up with a wet comb that I was gonna be good. He took his time, paused at certain points to have me check his work. Meticulous and precise he started up top w/ scissor work, combing, measuring snipping; really taking his time. Moving to the clippers, he was just as careful and line things up nice, taking 10 years off my old head! da Service: building has very little street parking, but does have a robot parking structure, supported by Valet; w/ validation, only $4!! No way you get that in Oakland. Penthouse HNL is on the 3rd floor, smooth check-in, already paid when booked online, super easy. I was a little scared, it was all young "kids" working; I'm not quite looking to be K-pop star. But Jaden had the sensibility to gauge what I was looking for and still bring me up to date a bit. Checked this place out while I was in Hawaii. The barber who cut my hair here was Hiro. It's funny because Hiro cut my hair a long time ago when I went to Mojo barbershop and it was one of my best haircuts that I had. I could never find Hiro when I came back to Hawaii on other trips but by chance he ended up being my barber at this spot! I had a complicated request: burst fade, side-comb line, de-fluff my upper back of my head while keeping the Chuck Norris mullet alive and well! (Pics courtesy and credit to @kevdabarb on IG) . Also witnessed Johnny and the crew celebrate a birthday with one of their own (name escapes me but it was an awesome scene of Aloha) topped with a cupcake and birthday song! I parked across the street but it looks like they have those sweet parking cages that house your cars via an elevator and storage algorithm! By appointment only so I went to their website and was able to book Kevin within 3 hours. It's located in 808 Sheridan St. Parking might be a pain in the butt but I park on the street or Walmart across the street, they also have an on-site valet parking but not sure if they would validate. Upon entering you'll get mesmerized by the bright all-white setting. Equipment are so modernized, from vacuum cleaner, fan, big TV, to their hairdryers. Ambience is so cool and lively, you'll never get bored, ( that is something! that's when you know they take care of their patrons and customers). Time is unpredictable, if you are making an appointment, make sure you don't have any other plans right after, or give yourself enough time until your next commitment. Although 1 hour is enough time to cut hair but some times, they would run out of time. But keep in mind that they (the barbers) would want to make you look handsome. Had my first and only haircut from Gavin. "Thought" I wanted a line up on my sides and on one side of the top of my hair...all I asked for was a medium skin fade. Real evident when I saw this circular grey spot on my head...no sun touches that area as it has hair to cover it and because that's where my hair grows which never gets cut as I never ask for line ups.
