We started with some fish cakes, which were tasty but not memorable (as I ate them only two hours ago and cannot describe them now). The reason I cannot describe them is the mains we had were amazing. The panang curry with beef was good with its thin slices of beef and thick coconut gravy. But the green curries were amazing. The basil really comes out strong and they put enough chilli to make me happy (we all asked for extra). The chilli basil beef stir fry (the first one on the stir fry menu) was also amazing. Some of the other dishes took a back seat to these, but were good in their own rights. So the ambiance of this place is a nice cozy place close enough to the Neutral Bay wharf. It is tastefully decorated with gold and purple accents. The serviettes (napkins for us Americans) are folded to look like flowers (orchids?). I assume they have many takeaway orders put in by people taking the ferry home and decide the aromas this place gives off are too much to handle. But if you do choose to dine in, they are BYO wine.

I went to this restaurant over a month ago and only remember one thing about it - the fried ice-cream had been fried for too long that the insides had half melted. Utter sadness to end the meal. This one was OK, but didn't find the flavour as deep compared to the best one's I've had. Very spicy for me too. - Crispy pork cracker - Bad. It was just too hard, and some were chewy. They weren't fresh. - Pad See Iew - Good. Probably the only dish that met some of my high expectations. Service was fine. As with the tofu in the Pad Thai, the chicken in this curry was just one big chicken breast. Not chopped or sliced. Basically I felt like I was having some sort or Sunday roast chicken with green beans, mushrooms and broccoli topped with some coconut milk. Really not good at all. Service is prompt, casual, and attentive. Customers seemed to be very pleased with with food and service.

Mussaman curry is to die for, red duck curry is unbelievably smooth and rich, whilst the mixed seafood pad thai is always a favourite. Some dishes look like a mountain on the plate. I only ever get the Pad Kee Mao (spicy stir-fried thick rice noodles with chili basil leaves and my choice of chicken) but other dishes on other people's plates have looked good. Get the curry puffs as well (minced beef, sweet potato and onions mixed with mild curry in a crispy pastry). These people know what they're doing.
