U-Haul is more expensive out of state for moves, than private movers, but I called for info anyway, yet never a call back. I would not recommend this place to anyone. One unit had a lock on it. The guy at the counter said my unit was not paid for, I told him it was. I went home and checked my bank account. Yep, it was paid! I got on the chatline, saved the chat conversation too. The person on chat said they accidentally put my payment on someone else's account, she sent me the receipt showing I paid my bill. I went back down to Uhaul and my unit was unlocked for me. I thought end of story. But, I go another email saying my unit was unpaid. I sent an email back to Lisa the GM saying I paid for my unit to read the emails. I thought, end of story. Then today I get another email saying I now owe n additional 15$ and I have 15 days to get my unit caught up. But How can she miss that I had paid? Her own people sent her that they had messed up. Ignorance! My attorney is next! I have no way to email U haul all of this. This GM is Sioux City is worthless or trying to scam people out of their storage unit items! I have printed the arbitration form. And I will send it along with copies of the chat and her emails! Do not use these units. They used to be amazing, I have been there six years or so. Now it is a scam unit.

You cannot contact the local company and all you can do is communicate with people at an 800 number. These people have no concern for your situation and don't provide any help if anything goes wrong. If the driver shows up at a wrong time, it is on you, not them. Very non-personal, cold, customer service that isn't the least bit concerned with helping you when things go wrong. Avoid at all costs and find another company in the area that provides the same service. After I booked them, I heard there were much better companies to work with that actually care about their customers and are less expensive.

Now, after multiple calls where I am never called back the investigation that they promised has not been started. The POD is still across the country. They just want me to pay storage fees forever while never delivering the POD. If I want, when they do decide to ship it half way across the country I can get a large truck, hire people. Have the truck loaded. Drive 60 miles. Pay for the rental till I get it all unloaded at my house. Return the truck and drive back home all while paying for extra storage time. The nice thing is though, They offered to charge me only $2400 instead of the $2600 to move it from LA to IA. I told them to shove the savings. PODS lied. They do not offer the service they promise and then will insult you with a 10% off coupon by way of apology. I think that instead a lawsuit for all extra costs incurred will work better.

At 1240 I sent a text that they were over 1.5 hours late with no contact At 2:11 I asked for a refund as we still had not contact and wouldn't need them any longer There were several attempts at calling as well, at approx 3pm I received a call from them that there was a problem with their last move and "the police had his phone" and he promised to refund 3/5 4:40pm asked why I hadn't seen the refund yet 3/6 9:30 PM asked why I hadn't seen the refund yet 3/7 They replied that they were in North Dakota and would refund that afternoon 3/8 requested the refund again Yesterday asked again and still no refund, and no communication. July 3, 2023 still no response and no refund. Just stole money and no regard for their customers.

He was trying to do all the work himself and ended up ruining my couch. He would've damaged many of my other belongings if my dad and I did not step in to help. Since my dad and I did majority of the work, and the other help didn't show up, the owner offered to refund me the full amount I paid. After many calls and texts, I have not received my refund. I unfortunately have to submit a charge back through my credit card company. Very unprofessional, poor communication, and does not care about their customers belongings. I would go with any other moving company in the area.
