    We recently rented a truck to do a one-day move of our respective storage units, located at two…read moreseparate locations. The truck rental was fairly cheap (15' truck for $29.95), but the mileage at either $0.99/mile or $1.19/mile can add rather quickly. In the long run, it might make more sense to spring for the larger truck to avoid having to make multiple trips with the mileage priced how it is. Overall, with gas, mileage and the truck rental, we were all in at around $100. We were quoted $0.99/mile, but were charged $1.19/mile, so be sure to check your billing against what you were quoted. It was fixed right away after calling to inform them of the error.

    Management was incredibly rude. When I arrived at the facility, one of the employees had gotten a…read moreforklift stuck in the mulch bed near the front entrance. I immediately stepped in to help get the forklift unstuck, and I also used a pallet jack to move one of the U-Haul boxes all the way to the back of the building for her. The employee was extremely appreciative and mentioned wanting to return the favor by giving me a discount. She reached out to her manager and told me to stop by on my next visit. When I came back, the manager responded with, "Why would I give you a discount since you offered your help?" Completely unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. A simple, "We appreciate your help, but unfortunately we can't provide a discount," would have been the respectful way to handle the situation. The way this manager spoke not only reflected poorly on the business, but also showed a lack of appreciation and respect toward both customers and employees. Very disappointing experience.

My husband showed up with 2 truckloads of our things at 10:20 and no one was there and it was obvious they were still closed from the night before. Customer service via the call center is a joke. We both were calling and despite talking to 4-5 people no one could help us and no one called us back as requested. My husband was able to use the kiosk to get a key and pay despite it restarting several times only to find out the gate code it provided didn't work. Finally after 11 someone showed up and let my husband in and he was able to unload the trucks into our unit. The following Monday we followed up to voice our frustration and let them know we weren't sure we were going to stay a few months as we intended. Long story short rather than an apology we were kicked out and told our stuff needed to be out the next day. We had to load up our things and find another storage location. Global Self Storage has terrible customer service and at the end of the day they might just kick you out if they don't like what you have to say. Not worth it!

They kill your code. So if your And I am fortunate government employee and get paid every 2 weeks... your just totally screwed! Find another company don't rent here this is a ripoff company that only cares about its money is a turn key to relieve you of any money it can legally get away with. Im so livid At this moment I could spit! That is the worst Deviant financial policy I have ever heard on a late fee!! It is designed solely for one thing and that is most people only get paid once a week at minimum but a lot of people get paid bi weekly so if you do in your due date happens to fall before you get paid even if you in good standing note they don't care your locked at every unit 100% entirely at 5 days this is a horrible policy designed exclusively to relieve you any extra money you might have in your account so it any given time anyone could be 5 days late that's not like it's 3 months late its not even 2 full weeks late !!!!! I'd have paid already but I was in a bad wreck and it slipped my mind by 1 week!!! I have a 774 FICO Beacon score and that's a very hard reached accomplishment yet I am treated like a bum and disrespected and humiliated and denied access at 9 days!!??? That is unacceptable the very day I get paid I will pay $300 to get a truck in move both my units to another unit that isn't trying to purposely still my possession than items and penalise me and treat me like a rat bum.. The prior company that owned this business before it was extra space was a much much better company in so much easier to deal with than they are there hardliners and could give a shit last about you or your property and would gladly relieve you any and all of your valuables!     We recently moved out of a unit that we'd been renting here for years. We arrived on a Sunday…read moreafternoon and approached the gate to enter our code. It was not working. We called the customer service number and were first advised that we could only get a new code by contacting our local office, which is closed on Sundays. After explaining that we needed to gain access immediately (we were in a U-Haul truck and ready to move out), we were placed on hold while they tried to open the gate for us. Another guest arrived and we had to move out of their way. We were reluctant to enter behind them, because a code is also needed in order to exit the property. After some time, the representative returned to ask if we'd gained entry. After advising them that we had not and explaining our reasoning for not entering behind the other party, the gate was remotely opened for us. We asked how we would be able to exit and were then advised that we'd have to call back to be let out as well. The process was lengthy, and we were not satisfied with that resolution, but we weren't offered any other options. Upon approaching our unit, we observed a dead, decomposing mouse just outside of the unit. After entering and assessing our property, many items had been damaged and/or destroyed by pests. Boxes and textiles had been tattered, torn and chewed to bits. The day was cold, wet and rainy, and we were up against a ticking clock revolving around our truck rental, otherwise we would've documented this for insurance purposes. Considering the escalating rent costs related to keeping and maintaining this unit and the associated insurance, we were disappointed by the inefficiency of the pest control. After loading our truck, we had to call customer service again to be let out of the property. The representative that we spoke with this time was much more understanding of our situation and provided us with a temporary code to use not only for exiting then, but for use the rest of the day. We had to return once more to load the last of our items and sufficiently clean the unit for termination of our rental agreement.

    Not very happy with this storage facility. When you are paying top price you expect locked gates…read moreand cameras pointing at your storage locker. My locker was one of the few on the property that did not have a camera pointing in the area of the locker. Also moisture got inside of my locker and damaged some of my items. Very disappointed in this facility. I didn't not get my money's worth.

    I am a new customer and have had a really great experience, so far. I used the online reservation…read moreprocess to hold my desired storage unit, but later realized that I'd chosen an indoor, 2nd floor unit; what I meant to reserve was a drive-up unit. I called, but was unable to reach anyone in the office, so I used the online reservation process again to reserve the correct unit. I would still need help with canceling the previously reserved unit. Through the online system, I was provided with the gate code and unit number via text message. I also received instructions letting me know that there was a lock available inside the unit with details on what to do if I had my own lock. I left a message for the property manager, Reba, and she called me back at her earliest convenience. Reba is so nice and helpful and I appreciated her assistance with getting everything straightened out. I returned both locks, for the unit I rented and the one that I was canceling, and received refunds for both ($21.39 each). I was also able to recover the admin fee for the unit that I canceled. I was very pleased with the outcome and would suggest this location to anyone in the area looking for a storage facility with great customer service! Thanks Reba!!!!
