Well, little did I know, boxes come in every shape and size imaginable. I was kinda overwhelmed lol. Located off Montana near Hyundai of El Paso, this little gem not only has every size U-Haul truck you can want/need, but also has a storage lot (storage units) on site for you to store your belongings. And when it comes to packing, they literally have everything you can imagine from wardrobe boxes to tape to scissors and markers and everything. The boxes are reasonably priced (considering), but they are cheaper if you buy it in bundles. The bundles are clearly marked and you can get sets of 10-20 of whatever sizes you need. I wasn't sure what sizes I'd need. The extra large was too big. The Small was too small. The fancy boxes with clothes racks or dishes sections etc were just too fancy. So I was stuck between medium and large. Now the bundles are all one size, no mix and match. So what would I get? Well the super friendly staff was right there to assist me and we decided on large boxes. Bought a set of 15. Now then it worked out, but had it not, there's an awesome "catch". Let's say you needed a different size. Or, you didn't need all 15 in your bundle. NO PROBLEM!!!! As long as the box hasn't been used, no tape no nothing, just folded up flat in its original condition, THEY WILL BUY IT BACK FROM YOU FULL PRICE!!! Yup. Just take the unused boxes back and you're good to go. And dude even loaded the 15 pack bundle into my car for me. Such a gentlemen. (I have a bad back and 15 folded flat boxes are cumbersome and heavy lol. Don't judge me). I don't know much about U-Haul stores, but this one on Montana is the bees knees, Mayne!

Yesterday, I went to make my December payment in person and to unload items into my storage unit (#0006). At the front desk, an employee--whose name I could not get--told me verbatim, "I don't see any payment due right now." When I clarified that my payment was due December 4, 2025, and that I wanted to pay today since I had just received my paycheck, the employee added, "Actually, I don't see any payment due for December. I only see one for January 2026." I want to be clear: I had a witness present who heard the exact same statements, so this was not a misunderstanding. This misinformation is completely unacceptable and demonstrates clear ineptitude. I was wearing bright royal blue scrubs with very short, blue-tinted hair, in case footage helps identify the employee. Adding to the frustration, I received a payment notice at 12:50AM, which is unprofessional and adds unnecessary stress. Between inaccurate staff guidance and poorly timed communications, this location makes what should be a simple process confusing and difficult. There are also deeper issues with training and communication. For example, I was previously unaware that a purchased lock needed to be placed the same day to secure my unit properly. Despite having paid for it, I was not informed of this requirement. This reflects systemic failures in staff training and management oversight, not just a single employee mistake. Paying customers should receive accurate information, professional guidance, and clear communication, yet this location consistently fails in these areas. This is unacceptable for any business that relies on its customers to operate. Until staff are properly trained, management enforces standards, and communication improves, I cannot recommend this U-Haul location. This is not simply about a payment--it reflects a wider problem with how the facility operates. U-Haul needs to act immediately to improve staff competency, communication, and overall customer experience. I encourage every customer to share this experience more broadly to warn other customers. This is about holding a business accountable for misinformation, poor service, and lack of professionalism.

They have these foamy inserts that cushion your stuff and I've used them many times when I moved and nothing of a broke. The guy who was behind the desk was so helpful. He helped me figure out what it would cost me and what kind what size U-Haul truck I would need to take my Household items to my next destination. The service was great.

After making a reservation today for tomorrow to pick up an auto trailer to transport my Jeep…read moreone-way to Colorado, I've decided to go in another direction. I was unsuccessful contacting this location, on hold indefinitelyI then back a second time, and got to speak with a representative. Representative seemed very rushed, which is understandable because this location is pretty busy. However, I'm not gonna be able to rent a trailer from this location even though a trailer showing available online. There problem, it seems is that this site has trailers, but none of the accessories they require to rent me one. The store, it seems, is not capable of putting on a trailer hitch. Curious. I always get a trailer hitch when renting from other locations. In addition, the car that I am transporting has oversize tires, requiring that I provide my own "tiedowns" (which they sell for an additional cost. Out of tie downs. If you go to U-Haul, and can't rent a trailer because they can't provide you a trailer hitch or tiedowns, sometimes not doing their job.

Not only were they responsive to…read moreour concerns with returning the truck a few days late they took extra time to review previous notes from our rental in order to serve us better. All the staff that we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. In particular, Kathy (sp?) I believe was her name, provided us with the best customer service we could ask for. We would absolutely recommend or use this Penske location in particular for any and all future needs.

With me moving from El Paso to Orlando, it was a long drive and I wanted to get the truck to load ASAP. I wasn't exactly ready to load the truck so I had no issues waiting a couple of hours. To help the situation, the manager gave me 5% off which was very nice as I did not ask for it and was not expecting it. The trucks themselves are newer, much newer and more modern than the Uhaul fleet. Penske trucks are diesel so you seem to get more weight capacity. There was an auxiliary jack for my iPod which made the drive less miserable. It would be a 1,700+ mile drive. It has cruise control which helped on the flat surfaces but going uphill was a battle due to the weight. So why only 3 stars despite the positives? Because they failed to explain the DEF and have the DEF filled. DEF is diesel exhaust fluid used to lower emissions. I saw a gauge on the dash and when it ran low, I started reading about it. Wish it was explained to me. 3 stars isn't a bad thing but I think they need to shore up the small details such as being on time and making sure the DEF is full before they get to 4 or 5 star ratings.
