The morning before I was to pick it up, I was called and told they are very popular vans and I couldn't have it. They would give a much larger truck, which would not work at all where I was going. And they also offered me a discounted mileage rate on that truck that was higher than on the van I reserved. I told them it wouldn't work for me and they started looking around SoCal, unable to find me anything that would work anywhere nearby. This is BS, as in Bait and Switch. If your website reservation system is a lie, then take it down. Reminds me of the "Seinfeld" episode with the rental car counter. Seinfeld: "But the reservation keeps the car here. That's why you have the reservation." Rental car lady: "I know why we have reservations." Seinfeld: "I don't think you do. You know how to take the reservation. You just don't know how to hold the reservation and that's really the most important part of the reservation. The holding. Anybody can just take 'em." Penske's inability to hold a reservation cost me three hours in lost time as I was on my way to a memorial service. I'm only giving one star since the lady on the phone was nice and did try, but Penske's reservation system wasn't reliable for me and I won't trust them again.

The base price was very competitive for a 17 foot truck, and the cost for mileage wasn't a big deal since it was a local move, but I believe it was competitive as well. The main thing I wanted to avoid were the long waits and terrible customer service that I had read about in the U-Haul reviews. Well, this Penske location came through! My reservation was for 9am and there was no wait. The Home Depot customer service desk is where you pick up the rental. There's a small amount of paperwork, then they walk you outside to check the truck for damage before you leave. They got me in and out quickly with good customer service. Upon returning the truck, I brought the keys inside and they walked out and checked for damage and gas levels before signing off. Everything went very smoothly!

We then decided to trade our '24 Palisade for the '26 Palisade Hybrid. Jacob was very professional, friendly, and pressure-free. He was one of the reasons we bought two cars again. He was responsive, friendly, and communicative from start to finish. He sent photos of the vehicle, coordinated my appointment, answered my questions, and made sure everything was ready when I arrived. He did exactly what you hope for from a salesperson, and I appreciated his professionalism. He even checked in with me after the purchase to make sure everything was going well, which was a thoughtful touch and speaks to the level of service he provides. The only reason this isn't a five-star experience was the finance process. I was paying cash, had no trade-in, and had already agreed on the purchase price, so I expected a quick and straightforward transaction. Instead, I sat through multiple presentations for extended warranties, service contracts, glass coverage, LoJack, paint protection, and other add-ons. I understand these products are part of the dealership's business, and I don't mind being offered them once. However, after clearly declining several times, the continued sales pressure became frustrating and unnecessarily prolonged the process. The same approach continued in the finance office before I was finally able to complete the paperwork. Despite that, I left with the exact vehicle I wanted at the agreed-upon price, and Joseph made the experience as smooth as he could. If the dealership streamlined the finance process and respected a customer's decision after the initial offer, this would have been a five-star experience. 4 stars

After agreeing to the price over the phone I asked to get the paperwork started online before I leave my house so I could arrive for an easy, simple transaction. I went to my bank and got the checks ready. Before I left they sent me an "updated" quote $3000 over what we agreed upon with (over msrp). I gave them one chance to stop playing games and then they tried to get me again! I turned around and drove home.
