Let's see, Upon arrival, their system was "down" for about an hour.", themnit turned out they…read moredidn't have my reserved truck and were trying to force me to take a van instead of a truck, when I raised a storm only then did they start making calls and found me my truck which they didn't have before. The guy at the front desk looked like he couldn't figure out how to "unlock" the system and was clearly struggling.. it seemed that he couldn't get in because he didn't have the password which tells me he probably wasn't never authorized to use the actual system. Then upon arrival and return, I asked if I need to do anything else at this point and if there were any extra charges , they said no as they sat in the truck texting away, was told i can be in my way and that they'll email me receipt. When I received the receipt they charged me double my original cost citing a $30 refil charge + $8 gas charge, mind that I drove 5 blocks in one direction and 5 blocks back to the rental given that I moved from one building in my development complex to another, meaning I never left the parking lot. When I finally called them to try and rectify the situation , they didn't want to speak to me and basically told me sorry , tough luck... do NOT rent from this place , ran by a bunch of hoodlums

We had a van reservation for 11 AM, the kid at the desk gave us grief for an hour about us "not having the car number and a 4 digit pin" EVEN THOUGH we had our confirmation email and number. After continuously asking to talk to a boss or manager the kid would say "someone will be here in 10 minutes" and no one ever showed up. I called U-Haul customer service where they pulled up my reservation no problem and he said that there was no such thing as a 4 digit pin - but that the location had one van that hadn't been returned yesterday so they were most likely stalling and making us jump through hoops for an hour knowing they didn't have a van. We eventually called a rental place on 28 90 Shell Rd where they were able to look up our U-Haul reservation and transfer it over to them, saying that this place was always a disaster. 1.5 hours later we were able to get our van in Coney Island. This is not the time to be screwing over your customers, go to the Coney Island place instead. Or literally any other place, really.
