Penny's Beer Garden is one of those inimitable, off the beaten path places one might never discover unless you went looking for it. I like the fact that most Houston folks know nothing about Penny's, which adds an element of escapism to going there. The people who run the place are kind, affable and folksy, in a good way. This is a chill, no fuss kind of place for sure. I was already curious about Penny's beforehand, but found out there was going to be a daytime Halloween gathering on the grounds. It was easy to tell from the description of the event that it would be a fun excursion, and indeed it was. The Halloween decorations and attractions made for a warm, convivial atmosphere complete with orange dragon, a spooky tree, scarecrow, pumpkin patch and a tall inflated character. Not sure if I ever spotted Penny the dog, but there were lots of other cool dogs dressed in Halloween costumes out there. One of the dogs even looked like a lion! And another dog was dressed like a turtle. Haha. The beer I selected was a great Urban South Brewery Triple Spilled fruited sour. Later in the day, a Cousins Maine Lobster trucked pulled up to the grounds, and I ordered a delicious lobster roll with chips. There was also a couple out there selling preserves. Snagged a jar of pineapple preserves. All in all, hanging out at Penny's for an early Halloween celebration was a great, memorable experience.

We love coming to Penny's - this is our official hang out spot! Great outdoor space, so we love to bring our doggos along. We regularly come for trivia on Thursdays, for live music, or just for a great beer. Love how they support local breweries and we love trying something different each time. The staff is always great and it's always nice to see regulars and the business doing so great! Such a fan, we had our dogs "Breed Reveal Party" here a couple years back. Amazing time all around.

Great outdoor place. Even on a Saturday in June. Not too hot, nice shade with nice trees. Beer & wine with farmers market & food trucks.

Bitsy was worn out from making new friends.

Could not say more about the friendly vibe of this place. The ultimate in dog friendly with a lot of open space and great beers on tap. Kids are certainly welcome and folks are easy to talk to - just ask them about their dog and they'll ask you about yours.

Another great night at Penny's. Great place to bring the doggos and play a little trivia on Thursday nights.

Great Staff. Dog and family friendly. Trivia is great or just a place to listen to music and relax. A true local jewel .

It's well organized with a a variety of dedicated staff and vendors. It's a true community experience. The location is spacious and accessible, and the food that I have bought from there is always really good. I have bought baked goods like cookies, breads, bagels, Indian food, and dog treats for my dogs. I've also bought fresh vegetables and handmade soaps. Today I was there on a rainy day, and the vendors were still there and ready for their customers. I was also impressed by the community support because people were still shopping in the rain, with and without umbrellas and raincoats.

This morning I got up bright and early at 630a to help set up tents, tables and chairs, signage for all the vendors to use; met the market mgr Candy (she's awesome) I talked to a lot of people (which I love) and i helped sell Morgan Elementary schools veggies from their garden. I bought some fresh kombucha from 3rd Coast and fresh homemade tamales from, momma's tamales in Houston. It started raining and lightning around 1045a; I needed to leave at 11am so it all worked out. I finally checked out my neighborhood farmers market! I was prompted to go because I needed to…read moreshred old documents, which I try to do at the start of a new year. Keep Pearland Beautiful was onsite in the tennis courts' parking lot for their monthly drive up shredding event. Note the shredding is $5 for docs up to 20 pounds and like 30 cents extra for each additional pound. It's free for KPB members but you must be a member for at least 24 hrs prior to the shredding event. The Old Pearland Farmers Market is small but mighty with local and nearby vendors. I'd say there were maybe a couple dozen vendors there and the market was setup on the basketball courts. There was a vendor there from Sweeney TX selling some tasty nut brittles, just to give u an idea of where some of the nonlocal vendors travel in from. Their cinnamon pecan brittle was very tasty and I'm appreciative of the sample I received. The market was lively with a live band performing in the background while I was there on a chilly and windy Sunday morning. I was pleased to see there were plenty of other folks walking around with their doggies but there weren't so many folks with dogs that it was cramped and harder to maneuver around. The dogs there were all chill and well mannered. For it's small size, the market has a healthy presence of minority owned businesses. There was an Indian restaurant giving out samples and selling heat and serve meals that I'll definitely be hitting up in the future. This time around I purchased some coasters from Crafty with Wood and some sprouts from Bonafide gardens. I steered clear of Granny's tamales but lookout once I get all this holiday sugar off my hemoglobin! All the vendors with whom I interacted were warm and welcoming.
