Once you walk in you will be impressed with their gorgeous fresh floral arrangements, the roaring fires, the detailed wallpaper, the plush furniture and the well curated artwork. I've never been lucky enough to spend the night but I can comment on their food in the restaurant. This past week I had their Easter set menu. I started off with their goat cheese plate. It was a beautiful soft cheese with fresh capers and other vegetables with pesto drizzled over it. It was beautifully presented and tasted light and delicious. It was one of those starters that gets you excited for the next course. For my main I had rare Beef. With every roast you have roasted vegetables- the beets were perfection- and Yorkshire pudding. I loved mine and I could not stop scooping veggies onto my plate. To top it off I had the chocolate mouse which was rich and smooth. With the country atmosphere, warm interior and delicious food you know I'll be back again. Just waiting for the next opportunity to justify it.

Many of the rooms have their own terraces. And from several you can walk right out your door and into the forest. The staff are plentiful, and they go out of their way to do almost anything you need, and in a timely fashion. Everyone working here takes a very personal interest in the happiness of the guests. From the chef Alex, who will tell you about where the eggs come from (in addition to making them perfectly), to Max the barman, whose name is on the door to the bar. Even the products in the bathroom were lovely. It's a great place for a romantic getaway, or a family trip.

Our room was clean and comfortable, with all the comforts you need - fluffy white towels, crisp bedlinen and even Aero hot chocolate sachets awaiting us on the tea tray! Heather House has the most beautiful windows on both levels of the staircase and we loved the really homely feel; we were especially drawn to their garden where we rested our weary feet in the late afternoon sunshine! We also liked the idea of placing your cooked breakfast order by mid-evening on the breakfast slips - which we duly did! Up and about early in the morning, we went for a walk before breakfast and walked back into Heather House to a gorgeous aroma of home-cooked breakfast. We loved the locally-sourced sausages, the cooked breakfast was done to perfection and we also enjoyed the wide range of cereals and fruit they also left out for us. All in all, a delightful stay and we will certainly stay there again when we next visit the New Forest for longer than a day trip, as Heather House is perfectly located for exploring the area.

The rooms are spacious, we dot a quad room which had a nice bunk bed for the kids, the swimming pool looked nice but we didn't have time to get in and the parking adequate so nothing to complain. We got a two days park tickets and one nights stay for £260 (family of 4) so it was a brilliant deal for the bank holiday weekend. We plan to head back for a longer vacation in near future and enjoy all the sights of New Forest. Highly recommended!
