After successfully…read morecompleting the treatment program, I transitioned into Ambrosia's women's halfway house in January 2026, where I have resided ever since. Throughout my time here, I have worked full-time, maintained my responsibilities, and treated this residence as my home. Over the months, my fellow residents and I have created a comfortable, stable, and welcoming living environment. We have even brought in our own furniture and personal belongings to make the house feel more like a home. However, the events of the past several days have left me deeply disappointed, frustrated, and emotionally distressed. At approximately 7:55 p.m., we were informed by upper management that we would be required to vacate the property by 10:00 a.m. the following morning due to an emergency plumbing issue. We were instructed to remove every single one of our personal belongings, with virtually no time to prepare, make arrangements, or secure alternative accommodations. This announcement came on a weekday, with many residents, including myself, having full-time employment and other responsibilities. I was forced to take Friday off from work to deal with a situation for which I had been given almost no notice. When management arrived on Friday, I explained that I was simply not prepared to leave under such unreasonable circumstances. We were subsequently granted an extension until Monday at 3:00 p.m. However, this extension does little to address the larger issue. We are still being required to vacate the premises and remove everything we own, with the additional warning that any belongings left behind will become the property of Ambrosia. I find this particularly troubling and, quite frankly, unacceptable. Ambrosia presents itself as a compassionate, supportive community dedicated to mental health treatment, recovery, and emotional stability. Yet the manner in which this situation has been handled has created unnecessary anxiety, uncertainty, and emotional turmoil among individuals who are actively working to maintain their recovery and rebuild their lives. Stability, consistency, and a sense of security are essential components of recovery. Many of us have worked incredibly hard to reach this stage in our lives. We have maintained employment, followed program expectations, and established a home environment that supports our continued progress. While I understand that emergency maintenance issues can arise and that resident safety must be a priority, I believe the manner in which this relocation has been communicated and enforced demonstrates a serious lack of consideration, compassion, and respect for the individuals living here. To be given only approximately 14 hours' notice to remove an entire household's worth of personal possessions is unreasonable. To then be told that any belongings remaining behind will become the property of the treatment facility only adds to the distress. I believe this situation raises serious ethical concerns regarding Ambrosia's treatment of its residents. A facility whose mission is to promote mental wellness and recovery should not handle an emergency in a manner that creates additional emotional instability and unnecessary hardship for the very individuals it is supposed to support. I am requesting that upper management reconsider how this situation is being handled, provide reasonable accommodations and assistance, clarify the arrangements for residents during this displacement, and respect our right to retain our personal belongings. After dedicating more than a year to this program and making meaningful progress in my recovery and personal life, I expected a greater level of compassion, professionalism, and respect from an organization entrusted with supporting vulnerable individuals. We deserve to be treated with dignity, understanding, and basic consideration--not as inconveniences during an unexpected maintenance emergency.

The psychiatrists use state of the art DNA testing to give you the best medicine for your condition. The Operations Team go above and beyond duty to not only pamper you, but are always giving a loving ear...and always with a smile no matter what they are going through. They always show up no matter what! This place is not for a vacation or retreat. You won't have access to your phone, laptop or any electronics when you are here. All you get to do here is focus on yourself...with caring staff that will do your laundry, cater and serve you 3 meals, get you snacks, do your laundry, clean up the whole place, go on store runs, give you meds...all while encouraging you. There were a couple of good councilors but many of the employees were hacks. But my big complaint is the cost. I was told my insurance covered the cost. This was told to me by the admissions office. After release, we get a bill for almost $5000 per day for 35 days. Our insurance covered only a few hundred dollars a day. Getting enrolled was a near emergency situation. I did not take enough time to read the dozens of pages of the contract that were given to me online. Addiction is hard. We all want to do all we can to help ourselves or our loved one recover. In the heat of the moment, this seemed to be the right place. Before you sign, ensure your insurance will or will not cover the ENTIRE price.
