Penny is so professional and knows so much what colors will look nice and how to do keratin treatments! The color came out looking great and my damaged hair is now smooth and soft. read more

Penni is by far the best hairdresser around! I've been going to her for 10+ years. For many years I went to her for hair straightening - it was perfect every single time and my hair is naturally thick and curly. Now that I prefer my natural curl, she is still the one I go to for haircuts. I love the way my hair looks after I see her. She also has a great instinct and I trust her 100%. I will never go to anyone else... no matter where I live. read more

What a great discovery! Penni is the best! She is that perfect combination for a hairdresser - a smart sweetheart who is so fun to talk to and an amazingly talented hair stylist (cut, color, texture). First off I am pretty low maintenance and because of the cost savings my husband hopes I'll keep it that way! I had just moved to the area and spent 2 years looking for a great hairdresser. I had a blond bob that I would put highlights in to blend in the incoming grays. Highlights would take 2 to 3 hours to do! Too much time and sadly not enough coverage! After discussing my needs with Penni she recommended that I put on a natural looking light blond color that would blend in my grays still and be healthy for my hair. Best thing is it only takes 1 1/2 hours a visit. She nailed the color my first visit but I think my 2nd visit it came out more ash than I liked and she quickly fixed it at no cost to me. Next I decided to try a Brazilian straightener and she did a great job with that as well - it lasted nearly 6 months. Under Penni's encouragement she helped me grow my hair long with awesome color, cuts, and texture and now I have that head of hair I always wanted as a teenager! I've been seeing Penni for over 2 years now and get so many compliments on my hair. So great!! I even brought my high-school daughter for a visit and she tamed her wavy long locks (which I loved au natural but she wanted to have the right look for now) into a calm straight head of hair. I think she used a Liscio straightener on her hair which worked perfectly - she was so happy, which is tricky to be when you are 15 years old! The straightening treatment is expensive but it does last a long time and when you're getting a bit up there in age, as I am, it really brings a more youthful look quickly. I've read the other Yelp reviews here for Penni and I couldn't agree more! Penni is a true gem and I feel so lucky to have found her!! read more

Penni's hair straightening treatments are nothing short of life-changing. I started seeing Penni over 3 years ago, back when I spent at least 45 minutes flat ironing my hair every morning. I felt like I was a slave to my hair...it was awful! When I first heard about Japanese hair straightening and was referred to Penni by a family friend, I was skeptical that the results would really last. But they do! They really do! I've gotten my roots redone with Penni about once a year since, and my hair is now stick straight right out of the shower with a blow dry (no round brushing, just hot air). Even since I've moved to the humid south for college, all I need is 10 minutes before class to blow dry my hair to perfection. I honestly never thought I could love my hair, but Penni made it happen! THANK YOU PENNI! I'll never trust my hair to anyone else! read more

Penni Collins - Hair Stylists Near Me - Beverly Hills, California

Penni is, hands down, the most talented stylist I've ever worked with. I'm a tough customer. My hair is pretty challenging, and I'm not easy to please. Penni took my crazy, unmanageable head of hair and turned it into my dream hair. She understands texture better than anyone who's ever touched my hair. I've been getting Brazilian and Japanese treatments from Penni for years, and I would never trust my head to anyone else. Spending four hours in a chair can be tedious, but Penni is always up for fun, intelligent conversation, and I always feel right at home in her chair. She's whip-smart, very warm and welcoming, and her attention to detail is what makes the difference in the end result. I always leave with a smile on my face. Salon Republic has a parking garage that is a bit pricey, but Penni validates your parking tickets, which helps tremendously. For my typical four-hour appointment, I pay four dollars for parking...which, in that neighborhood, is a STEAL. She's also got a great selection of magazines and movies if you just want to veg out during your appointment. Cut, color, texture....Penni is on top of her game, and she's got a keen eye for what is going to work with your face shape and skin tone. That's hard to find! read more

Awesome. Penni is the perfect hairdresser. She uses the safest techniques on my hair. Best hairdresser to go to for a relaxer; Japanese or Brazilian in LA. Never had problem once with the relaxer and I've gone back for touch-ups every few months a couple of times now. Very easy going, nice person who makes the time go by fast with smooth conversation. Very knowledgeable and answers any questions I have and gives great advice. If you're looking for a hair stylist to do a relaxer, don't look anywhere else. This is the best place to do it and with a hairdresser who actually cares about the health of your hair. Highly Recommended. A+++ read more

Penni is SO talented. I have never had more compliments on my hair, ever! It is shiny, healthy, and so natural! She is fantastic with color, and gifted with fixing massive color disasters. I was referred to her by a friend who is a stylist for high profile celebrities. She said Penni was the only one who could fix a complete disaster, and have them looking better than ever. For me it wasn't a disaster to fix. Instead, I am a complete perfectionist with my hair, and demand that my hair looks natural right out the door. Penni not only listened, but had an amazing eye for what worked for me. It took 2 appts to find perfection, but now I get it every time! Somehow the condition of my hair gets better all the time too..... I have seen great heads of hair from Penni, redheads, blondes, brunettes...... She is also fantastic at straightening hair, whether it's a blow out, japanese straightener, or brazilian. Her standard of perfection shows. I think she may have more experience with straighteners than anyone I've found. She is a straight shooter and will always tell you what is for you, not just what is most popular. She is smart, very talented, experienced, listens, while still creative. Gotta go to Penni if you want spectacular hair. read more

I've never been happier after coloring my hair and Penni made my hair come out exactly how I've been wanting it to be for years! She took the time to ask me about my hair and didn't just jump into coloring right away which I really appreciated. I found out about her after I saw how beautifully she had colored a friends hair and so glad to now have a new hairdresser! She not only cares about making your hair beautiful but also making sure that your hair isn't damaged in the process and her prices are also very reasonable. Thank you Penni! read more

I had my first (of many) visits to Penni last week. I decided to try a Brazilian blowout for the first time. I wasn't sure if I was a candidate but Penni took the time explaining and educating me on the process. She was meticulous with her work and I felt complete confidence the entire time I was there. She is an expert and certainly proved that to me! I drove a bit of a distance to see her but it will not keep me from going back. I love my new shiny, manageable hair! I highly recommend Penni. read more

OMG! I am a Hispanic with course bushy hair. A spiral perm destroyed any vestige of "normal hair" category. I always wanted my hair to wave as a gentle breeze passed me by but instead it stayed in place wherever the breeze moved it!!!Ahhh. I have disliked my hair for many years.Suddenly I found Penni Collins in Los Angeles and for the first time I can say I got exactly what I wanted -straight hair-when I say straight I mean 'Asian' straight! I now have permanent straight hair due to Penni's straightning system. After her services I have been complimented day after day. Her shop is in a unique setting and the whole beauty salon experience with Penni from beginning to end was very pleasant and relaxing. She is my new stylist. Got to see to believe. I now love my hair. Trust me this is no gimmick! L.J. read more

Penni is the ONLY person that I trust to straighten my hair. She has been performing the Japanese straightening treatment on my naturally thick, curly hair since around 2005. I moved from LA to the east coast for a number of years and commuted to LA twice per year to have Penni straighten my hair. When I first moved to the east coast, I attempted to find a local hairdresser to perform my straightener. I found someone who claimed to be a Japanese hair straightening "expert". However, this self-proclaimed expert severely burned my hair. It took one year to fully recover from the nightmare. Following that experience, I began flying back to Los Angeles to have Penni straighten my hair. Penni is fabulous, has a great personality, and provides consistently exceptional results. I highly recommend Penni. She's a hair straightening genius! read more
