Currently, it is open from Tuesday through Saturday morning to afternoon. To avoid the longest lines, I recommend showing up in the middle of the week and in the early morning. For my most recent visit, I arrived well before the opening time, and a long line of customers had already formed on the sidewalk. At the opening time, a guard periodically called different groups of people into the building. I felt surprised that people had to wait outside for so long and that little seating was available inside. At least the sidewalk had a roof over it. Eventually an employee called me, looked at my application for a Real ID, gave me a number, and had me wait inside. Many minutes later another employee called me to review my birth certificate, Social Security card, and two pieces of evidence of Pennsylvania residency. Then another employee took my payment. Days later I received my Real ID in the mail.

Almost no parking spaces left. The door opened at 8:30am, on the dot and within 10-15 minutes they very efficiently had the line initially processed with tickets to be seen for their service. I would like to add, that with the exception of one staff member, who was maybe having a bad day, staff were pleasant and helpful! So hats off to the New Ken DMV! I went in and the place was not crowded which was good for me. I went up to the first desk and got a number then waited about 5-10 minutes to be called up to next desk. The person seemed nice and he was helpful. That desk took maybe 5-10 minutes max. Then I went over to the picture station and got picture taken then it took about 5 minutes for new license to come out to me. overall I was pleased with the service and the total amount of time it took. I do recommend this location as everyone seemed very good. I would hesitate to stay if it was really crowded. I will definitely go here again if I need anything from DMV again.
