We are from California. The pizza was delicious. We had enough for 2 meals. Arrived hot and right on time.

    Review Highlights - Peninsula Pizza

The sinbad pizza is my fave and I'm never disappointed it's a little bit pricey and I was hesitant the first time I ordered.

I ordered a tropical Hawaiian pizza and it was crammed with ham, pineapple and cheese on top of slightly sweet and smoky bbq sauce- absolutely the best pizza I've had since moving to the island. I asked for added mushrooms and got a generous helping of those as well. Price was in line with (and even a little less than) comparable pizzas in the Sidney area. Keep up the good work!

Very cozy family-run feel to the place with local bulletins and kids' drawings posted on the wall. Other than that, it's quite cramped so there's not much to see inside and there's only street parking in the area. Even so, people were picking up pizzas nonstop which is never a bad sign, plus the staff were friendly and got the pizza done quickly. It tasted great! We ordered pepperoni and bacon with extra cheese, and they were not shy with any of the toppings. They place them below the cheese layer with large sheets of pepperoni - That's a pretty rare style on the mainland and I personally prefer it to more traditional types. The crust wasn't a highlight but it fit the role pretty well. For negatives, I can see how the sweeter pizza sauce can be divisive, and the bacon topping was the crumbled type which is hit or miss. We'll be back when we're on the island for sure.

(And they had a nice, covered outdoor patio seating area, where our dogs were welcome!) However, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! They do have beer and pizza -- but we opted for the salad (healthy) and the Pork Belly (perhaps not so much). Both were five-star delicious! And the view from the patio is also pretty darn nice. We'll be going back!

Man I love the vibes on Whidbey Island and spots like this are why. Such a gorgeous spot to stop…read moreand get a bite to eat or head upstairs to their cocktail lounge and just relax a day away. The vibes inside are immaculate as a kind of barnyard chic and the pizza topping combos are hyperlocal and fascinatingly unique you have to give them a try. Unfortunately my first time trying a pizza place must always be a simple cheese pizza so that's what I ended up with this time. The crust is cooked a little extra charred which can work well as long as the dough is moist enough, oiled well, and the pizza has enough flavor overall to balance it out. I wouldn't say that was the case here but I think there are many, particular NY/NJ/CT area folks who might prefer this style. Overall the pizza was just OK for me, a bit too dry from the extra cooktime/char and maybe dough hydration, the sauce not being as refreshing and bright as I like, the cheese as bursting with creamy milkiness as I want on these types of pies. But it still hits the spot and I'm happy I stopped here at such a cool little spot on such a great island. But for Whidbey Island pizza I'll probably stick with Village Pizzaria for now. Who knows, I didn't get to try the cocktails here so may need to come back for that. I did also get a smoked carrot dish that was a bit underwhelming for how cool it sounded, just a bit too much acid and fat without a lot of spice and flavor to balance everything out. Still may come back for the dinner-only pastas, I'm simply too intrigued by the chic menu recipes and chillaxing vibes here.

Once seated, we had to ask the hostess for silverware. Started w the grilled asparagus ($25) - tasty sauce of garlic scapes, topped with pretty purple flowers that added no flavor. Good flavor, but for 6 stalks this was kinda insane. Scallop crudo ($30) was disappointing - scallop was minimal, very overwhelmed by the rhubarb. Would have expected the ratio to be balanced. Beautiful dish, no less, but this should have been called a rhubarb crudo to accurately reflect the dish. Again, insanely low volume of food. For pizzas, we got the poh-tay-toh ($28) and Gus Gus ($27 - asparagus, green garlic, tarragon, mozzarella, parm). These were more redeeming than the apps, tasty, but not ground shattering. Understandably the "ambiance" was expected since did not have reservations, but even then, the exterior was dusty and we did not feel the staff was present. Outdoor restroom was a step up from a hiking trailhead bathroom. The establishment inside is very nice so YMMV, but our experience was less than stellar. Overall, disappointed by the experience. Pizza was good, but extremely meager portions for the appetizers. It seems the focus of each dish was appearance rather flavor.
