He then immediately hung up on me for "cussing" because I said "the issue is your Ruined my window with shity Work" I would never trust this location, bad work, disrespectful, and dishonest! And for the record this location also had to reinstall our Subaru window years ago 3 times just to do it right so this isn't my first issue here. And safelite in Madison Wisconsin had repaired all of our fleet trucks at wave communications for years and we have had multiple repairs, I am well aware of what the quality should be. Repair that chip now before you have to replace your entire windshield. If your windshield chip can be repaired, do it immediately. A small chip can spread across the windshield, due to changing temperatures, if you hit a big pothole, or make an aggressive turn. Replacing your windshield should be a last resort. Windshield replacement is not only costly, but if not sealed properly may leak or cause increased road noise. As a rule of thumb, if you can cover the damaged area with a quarter, it should be repairable.

This time it was a muffler and when they gave me the quote it was for $250 but they charged me $360 because they had to "get a different muffler than the one they quoted me for", they did not bother to contact me to see if I wanted to go ahead with that price change or not. In my opinion a full hundred dollars is worth calling the customer over. The mechanic had a very poor attitude when explaining this up-charge. If a person does not get charged the quoted amount, then it should be discussed before the work is done. This is poor service. My parents had a previous experience with them where they went ahead and replaced a tail-light without calling them about it, charged them three times what it would have cost to just do it themselves (something they are very capable of and would have done it instead of paying the labor charges). So if all you are looking for is an oil change for cheap, then go ahead but if your vehicle needs more than an oil change only, then expect to get ripped off. Expect to have work done that was not previously agreed upon.

I called him up, said I'm interested, but is it AWD or FWD? He said for sure it was AWD, and that the ladies in the office must've screwed something up with the ad. Fair enough, asked him what else is wrong with it, he said it had a battery drain. Ok, anything else that needs fixing, replacing, addressing, etc? He said no, it's very clean, so I made the 2.5 hour ride after telling him I'll be there in 2.5 hours. I get there and he's gone, nobody knows where he went. I check out the vehicle and notice 3 out of 4 tires are down to 3/32" tread remaining (bald!). One was weather cracked so bad I could nearly see the air, and all were mismatched brands. I opened up the driver's door and the driver's leather seat had large chucks of leather missing. "No big deal" I thought, seat covers and new tires, but I'm wondering at this point how in the h#ll this guy overlooked this so far, there's not many vehicles for sale on that lot. I start up the vehicle, which woke up the LARGE exhaust leak at the flex joint area underneath the vehicle. And now the "best" part...I look on the tailgate, no indication of it being AWD. I look under the rear end, no CV axles, differential, rear driveshaft, nothing. It was a front wheel drive. By this time he'd made his way back into the office and I confronted him, saying this vehicle is not AWD, and that I essentially wasted 5+ hours of my time, along with all the other obvious issues that he failed to mention. In what seemed like a small fit of fake disbelief, his response, "sorry, bud!" And another thing, I told him on the phone if it's what he's described, I'd give him $5800 for it (it was for sale for $6500), he said he couldn't, he already had $6000 into it. I've been in the auto industry, including car sales, for 20 years. I knew right away that was a BS line. Wholesale pricing on that car was in the $4000 range, average private party value was around $6000. Only had the vehicle advertised for a week at this point, said his guys "went through it" (obviously not, hence the exhaust was super loud and a cheap fix, coming from a 1' piece of flex pipe that could be replaced for $30). But all of the sudden he has all this money tied up in this vehicle. Absolute bullcrap. Buyer beware!
