I was woken up by traffic and the subwoofer noise from the club downstairs. The club opens till 2 AM. I couldn't take it and went to ask for a room change. The manager came up as if he can listen the bass. I thought that was pretty ridiculous. Anyways he did move us to 340 and I had to use AirPods to sleep. Also the breakfast sucked. The bacon and sausage smelled rotten as if they handed the leftovers. I had much better time staying at T4 terminal holiday inn.

After a really bad day/evening I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff. They made the process hassle-free as I provided them with the room voucher provided by British Airways. I went to my room and was surprised to see a nice room and a nice bathroom. The place was clean and met my expectations. The room was warm so I turned down the temperature setting on the thermostat to 18C and headed downstairs to eat my free meal provided by British Airways. I realized that most of the people staying there were in the same boat as me having missed a connecting flight. Dinner was a buffet that served fried fish, French Fries and a pasta with bread. I wasn't pleased with the free meal (I know, I know, it's free) so I snacked on fries and bread. I met some cool people in the restaurant and eventually headed back to my room. I arrived at my room after 1.5 hours and noticed that the air conditioning didn't feel much better than when I left. I'm told that this is typical in Europe. I decided to turn the knob all the way down so I could try and get some sleep in comfort. The bed was comfortable and I didn't have any trouble sleeping. I did however, needed to get up after 3 hours of sleep to get back to Heathrow to catch my flight to Brussels. The shower and bathroom worked good enough for me to get ready to leave. I left my room and checked out. The process was hassle-free and the front desk staff was friendly. This rating could have been higher with better working air conditioning and better dinner options. This was a solid three stars.

As an American, I was somewhat taken aback by the lovely receptionist who asked, "Did you know Trump is going to visit?" I thought she was being inclusive. My response, "Yes! I'm bummed I'll miss him." She said, with an unpleasant look, "You are?" Yes, half of America voted for and continue to support this man. Leave politics out of hospitality. That said, she was lovely on ash other accounts. The lift didn't work, but it's an old, but stunning building. Rooms are spacious and finally, we got face cloths! The restaurant and bar have a great atmosphere. Decorated with greenery (fake but will maintained) and bright colors that make you feel alive. The restaurant and bar include a variety of food and drink that would please anyone, even the pickiest of eaters. However, upon arrival at the bar, we weren't sure if we needed to order first or wait for a server. A server came by and she either was having a bad day or she didn't care for Americans, as we attempted to relate our order to her and got abide and sarcastic remarks. We would have left if it wa6nt for Jake. He was accommodating, friendly and went out of guys way for us. He's a reason we would return to the bar/restaurant! The beds are comfy, however my cousin and I have twin beds and they slide this way and that. Wondering if there's a way to make them more stable. First round at the mini bar is complimentary. Our view was towards the back of the hotel. Nothing to see there but cranes, alleys and rooftops that are an odd guy to the rest of the hotel. The great food, comfort and welcoming (for the most part) make this a place I would return, grabbed politics are never discussed, especially upon check in and not promoted by any conversation and we're the receptionist's personal views. It definitely made me want to start elsewhere. It's fortunate we had a great experience after check in. Again, it almost made me feel uncomfortable and I was thinking of leaving. However, people have different opinions and I respect that. I just didn't think I would encounter such bias upon check-in. I wonder if our room with the not so great view were based on my views. With the lift out of order, we either had to lug our suitcases up 3 flights if crooked stairs or have someone lug them up for us. The man was so gracious, but this is a job for the young and fit. I felt signing this task what I believe was the most senior staff was not a week thought out plan. Again, the hotel, location, lovely accommodations, food and most staff makes this a wonderful choice for your stay in Windsor!

When we arrived, we were sat on the patio, but not near the views despite being the only ones out there. We quickly ordered drinks, and then food not long after. From the time we were sat, to when our food finally came out, it had been over an hour. I know we had a larger group, but the waitress never came back to check on our drink or offer any insight on the wait. We had to seek it out ourselves. We were also being tormented by wasps, one of which we caught in a cup to stop it from bothering us. We saw people seated after us get their food before us. We even saw a couple sit down, wait for ages for service, and leave before ever ordering drinks. Once the food finally came, it was bland. My fish and chips were flavorless. Others at the table complained of food being either boiling hot or lukewarm. The little chocolate mint they bring you with the check was the best part. Someone in our group asked for an extra mint on the way out and they initially told her no. Overall, terrible experience. Made us late to the next thing on our itinerary and we didn't even enjoy the food.

There is a gym that guests can use for a small fee that is 3 minutes away but it doesn't open until 8 or 9am depending on the day. That is too late for me since I was going to work early every day. The rooms are tiny with a double bed. I had a view of the rooftop next door. The mattress was pretty firm and the bed had 4 pillows one of which was a feather. The bathroom had a nice shower with one of those rain shower heads and the water got really hot. The shower door was one of those half doors that doesn't close. That seems a bit weird but it worked. The bathroom has a towel warmer but mine was not working which was unfortunate. It also got a bit stuffy in my room at night luckily the window was able to open a little bit, enough for fresh air! There are coffee pods, and tea in the room. I love that they give you the Walkers biscuits in your room. They are so good and there were many flavors that they replenished every day. Also they gave you water in your mini fridge. My co worker was not happy that there was no lotion or conditioner in the bathroom. She asked for lotion at the front desk but then had to buy some conditioner. I always bring mine so it wasn't a big deal for me. My reservation came with a buffet breakfast in the restaurant. It was your traditional English breakfast The coffee was horrible. 2/10 on the coffee scale. The location is fabulous and very walkable.
