With a busy schedule, I rely on virtual services whenever I can. I will admit, I was initially unsure how I felt about handling something as important as taxes, virtually. That hesitation disappeared immediately after this weekend. Overall my H&R Block experience has exceeded every expectation I had. I worked with Karen Barkley for both my 2023 and 2025 filings, and she has been nothing short of exceptional. In 2024, I was in the middle of relocating between states and decided to return to a prior in person tax professional in San Diego. I thought it would be the safest option before moving to Wisconsin. Unfortunately, I was advised not to file for 2024. Fast forward to 2026, after a seamless 2025 filing with H&R Block, my 2024 taxes suddenly became a serious issue while I was applying to schools and working through FAFSA. One of the biggest decisions of my life in my mid 30s felt like it was at risk, at least in the moment. I was completely overwhelmed, honestly panicking, and in tears. I reached out to Karen with no idea what to do, just hoping for some kind of direction. Karen responded quickly over the weekend, from Friday afternoon into Saturday night. Not one message (out of many) went ignored. Completely virtual, Karen stepped in and took control of the situation in the most calm, confident, and supportive way. She walked me through everything step by step, gave clear and practical solutions, and never once made me feel like I was asking too much. Even when my 2024 W-2 felt impossible to get, she had answers, options, and a plan. I have been working since I was 15 and have never had a tax issue before, so this completely threw me off. Karen did not just help me, she truly showed up for me. She turned what felt like a crisis into something manageable, and honestly, she was a lifesaver. Thanks to her guidance, everything was resolved successfully. The moment I got her the final information she needed, she filed everything promptly that same Saturday night. I am beyond impressed. This was easily the best tax experience I have had. I cannot believe I am saying this, but I actually look forward to filing my 2026 taxes next year, and I will without a doubt be requesting Karen Barkley again. Her responsiveness, knowledge, professionalism, and the way she handled a stressful situation with such care and confidence truly amazed me. Every frantic concern I sent was acknowledged quickly, and her support never wavered. Thank you again, Karen. You turned a very stressful situation into a huge relief, and because of you, I will absolutely be a loyal H&R Block customer going forward. Value was worth it.

Had taxes done on January 10th and my efile was kicked back due to my "tax expert" spelling my…read moreyoungest sons last name wrong and even with giving all my documents needed to see names and spelling. Had to do my own detective work to find anything out and not one "expert" could tell me why it's taking so long. The kick back then triggered my state return to then instead of direct deposit as I set up and double checked to make sure numbers matched was then sent a check and here it is a week after the state says it's been issued my money and still not here and now I wonder with the federal even with it being separate entities will it affect it also??? DO NOT GO HERE AND DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY AT H&R Block. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND YOU CHARGED ME 364 for this crap!???
