A great little stop for whiskey lovers who are passing through Brecon Beacons National Park, as well as those who enjoy other craft spirits. Most of the staff are very friendly and ready to share all about their products.
The shop offers several varieties of whiskey that have been aged in various types of barrels, including Buffalo Trace Bourbon barrels and peat infused Laphroaig barrels for interesting twists. There is a whiskey cream liqueur available, as well as craft gin and vodka.
Tours of the facility are available as well, although you'll want to show up a little early and book the tour in advance. We showed up about an hour before the tour, wandered around the shop to kill some time, and then decided since no one else was there waiting we'd leave for fifteen minutes to drop our bags at our B&B... We came back to buy our tickets five minutes before the tour was supposed to start, noticed several people in the room where the tours begin, and were turned away and told there was a private tour happening that had already started... Oh well.
Since we weren't able to try as many products without the tour, we didn't get any additional bottles as souvenirs for friends and family, but just stuck with a couple bottles of their flagship gold label whiskey. Several complex tasting notes pop up from beginning to finish -- we can't wait to enjoy more at home! read more
