Paid $360 for a room for one night. Would never stay again - extremely poor service, far from town, super overpriced for what you get, and they nickel and dime you to death for everything.... Here's a quick rundown: - Arrived around 2pm on Saturday, learned check-in isn't until 5pm. Seriously, FIVE PM???!? I've stayed at hundreds of hotels around the world, and this is by far the latest check-in time I've ever seen. - Desk woman immediately informed me that our $360 room was next to the elevator, and to get a quiet room, we would need to pay more for a different room type. Seriously? We stuck with our original (very expensive) room and have not had noise issues yet. Seems they are pushing hard for desk people to upsell rooms. Many hotels give FREE upgrades.... - They pre-authorized $300 in " incidentals" plus the room cost ($350) upon check-in. Not really an issue, but speaks to either the insecurity of the ownership, or the typical clientele that stays here. - They do not give room keys. You need to download an app to access your room. If you want a regular key, you need to pay extra for it. I'm sorry Mr. Rich Hotel Owner, but on a $360/night room, I'm not interested in installing an app so my data can be sold to marketing firms and you can save $30 a month in lost keys. - Once you install the data-stealing app, it does not work to open the room door. We had problems the entire night trying to open the door. The desk people could not help when we inquired, and also did not offer a regular key. - Rooms are in desperate need of renovation. Holes in walls, cabinets and trim bent and water damaged, doors do not close properly. Carpet was ripped and fraying. Again, we paid $360/night for this room... - No tub, and shower was about .75m wide. Impossible to shower in there without bumping into the walls. Gross. - No coffee in lobby, unless you want to pay for coffee from a machine. Did someone forget that we paid nearly $400 for a hotel room? Thankfully McDonalds is nearby and they have way better coffee anyway. - If you want to sit outdoors, you cannot bring your own drinks or food. They force you to buy it from their extremely overpriced shop, which has a really limited and poor selection. Give me a break. read more

We stayed for four nights, and had a good experience. Quiet, impeccably clean, good service. Rooms with kitchenette have everything you need for simple cooking. Enough space, furniture, and wifi to get some remote work done. My only annoyance is the staff aggressively pushing their in-house data harvesting app as a "green" measure. I'm surprised this place has such poor reviews. We stayed here a few days for a wedding. Room was spacious and clean. There's no room service unless you ask for it, we didn't, but we did go to the front desk and asked for extra coffee which they happily provided. We also made good use of the pool, would have been great if there were more umbrellas available. There's feee EV charging on site as well. read more

Awful management, manager's doesn't seem to understand basic customer service. Their front line staff are excellent though. Unfortunately it was this place or another hotel in town. Should have went to the other one... where to begin. Entire place is just a blatant money grab. Pros: Rooms were clean. McDonalds is close (10 mins away) Cons: 1 ice machine for the entire hotel on the first floor. 1 elevator for the entire hotel, its slow and you're better off taking the stairs. View isn't great out the front/back of hotel rooms. We came here for a wedding. Keep in mind its was September long. This has been planned for months. First Day: There was a BBQ picnic that the bride had called AHEAD to get approval which was OKed. Soon as the tables were set for the food to be put on the manager comes out and tells us we can't do it. Turns out she consider it a planned event and therefore it needed to be catered by the hotel. Blatant money grab. People try to politely explain it was approved, its not an event, we just want to hang out and have a picnic provided by the bride/groom as a thank you for showing up. Manager digs her heels in. More people try to ask what the problem is. Manager goes on a power trip and threatens to turn gas off for the BBQ. Bride's crying, manager refuses to talk further about the issue. Luckily we called the Pemby Rona explained 5 mins before close and begged them to stay open a little later so we could come buy our own BBQ. Pemby Rona was amazing their staff were so accommodating, stayed late and helped us find everything we needed and even let us take their floor model. Later that night we decide to meet up at the pool to hang out. No outside alcohol on the deck. That's fine, except the rule wasn't enforced for everyone. Other guests had open bottles of wine and glass on deck. Staff were sent out every 5-10 mins (one of our party had a room beside the pool and so we just had drinks on their deck). No issues there except the fact we felt like the staff were being specifically ordered to police us. Last day: They cancelled the room keys early so people had issues getting out. They cancelled the bride's mother's room WHO was staying an extra day with the family and had to go back to front desk to get back into her room. Elevators were broken on the last day. Summary: I would not and will not ever come back here. The manager's lack of customer service and empathy and the blatant money grab was disgusting. They will find any excuse to try to fine you (see smoking review issues everywhere else). Go somewhere else. We all mostly local to the Lower Mainland and we will be telling anyone that visits Pemby the same story. read more

Great customer service. Big rooms and very clean. Nice outdoor (and heated) pool and hot tub even during winter. The room was modest, nothing fancy but had literally everything you need. Loved the fireplace in our room! It was pretty cheap too. Great location, free parking and free bike rental! Couldn't ask for more! Unacceptable treatment of handicapped guest. No handicap parking underground, as they converted those spots to EV spots. When we parked taking up 2 spots (ramp vehicle) the manager insisted we move the van, making it impossible to extend the ramp and thus impossible to use the car with the handicapped guest. They had one handicap parking spot outside, but as it was snowy that was not usable. Asked front desk for a toothbrush, manager made sure to tell me they were NOT complimentary (paying that much for a room and you can't give me a $2 toothbrush?) but that they didn't have any toothbrushes anyway. Beds rock hard, sofa bed worse than any sofa bed I've ever slept on. Need to give a shout out to the snowblower guy, great job man. Desk staff aside from the manager were all great. Snowblower guy said he could clear out the path to the hot tub, apparently after this the manager told him not to, so the hot tub was closed. Steam room was not functioning correctly. Power outlet in kitchen did not work. All in all, huge disappointment. read more

Stayed here for a night, we were passing through town. We came from the summit lodge in whistler. I paid $100 more for this place in Pemberton. They had the same exact coffee machine maker in both hotels but Pemberton charged you $2 for black coffee and $3 for lattes. Whistler was free coffee 247. Also at this hotel they wouldn't allow you to bring in your own beer to drink by the pool even if it was cans bc they try to enforce you to purchase their beers ONLY or nothing at all and they only had two selections which were the bud and coors lite of Canada. They had us dispose of ours. They didn't have a bathtub in their room only a shower. For $330 a night you'd think we could at least get a tub. The bathroom was ever so tiny and didn't have a fan. We came from a cheaper luxury much higher end hotel and paid more for this not very nice one. The 3 stars was for their heated pool. And that their rooms were spacious. They won't let you move their outdoor umbrellas even though it was raining. My biggest complaint is I hate feeling nickled and dimed to death. Wasn't the best experience for me and my group. On vacation ppl do not like being micro managed. We followed their rules but will not return. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the hotel was. It had a nice and clean kitchen, spacious living room area and the furniture and appliances were modern. It looks much newer and I was impressed by the quality and the great price of the room. They're kind of stingy on their towels and you have to return your dirty towels before you can get clean ones, which makes sense but kind of inconvenient. Overall, I had a great 2 night stay with them and if I ever stay in Pemberton, I would come back here. read more

If you want to stay near the Whistler ski area, but avoid the $1,000 / night Four Seasons bill while getting a more down home, small town experience - head north 15 minutes post-ski to Pemberton. Paul and Laura are great managers of this property and make it feel like your own living room, set against some world class mountain views. Pair with apres ski jacuzzi, beer and a casual dinner at The Pony (one of two restaurants in town) and you're in business. read more

This Is a hotel with the potential to be a four star but is really a 2 star. The pool and jacuzzi are nice along with the rooms. But the service is mediocre at best. As a frequent visitor to pemberton I stay here out of lack of choice in hotels. Countless times my room has had bugs in it, on a mildy busy day the room you book a reservation for is surprisingly enough, not ready. As if my pre booking it is pointless. To quote Jerry Seinfeld- " anybody can make a reservation, but you gotta know how keep the reservation" Stay on top of cleanliness and fast reliable service and this will be a great hotel. read more

I went to this hotel with my girlfriend and 2 of her friends.Overall,we had a pretty food time in this lodge.The room was clean(but when my girlfriend and I first enter our room,the whole room smells like curry).The hot tub was enjoyable.The interior design and the furniture were kind old fashioned,but it was classy at the same time.I particularly like the bed,it was so cozy!However,when my girlfriend's friends were taking shower,they did not put the shower certain in the shower tub,so the water were leaking,even went through downstairs,so the hotel management asked them to pay for the damage of the ceiling.Anyways,I guess when I go back to the hotel again,I need to be particularly careful with the water and the ground,just in case if it is easily go through to downstairs. read more

Wow let me start by saying our company has spent over 25k here over the last couple months. Lots of different jobs up there, and there's will continue to be lots more in the future. The guest service manager Michelle is rude, and has absolutely no regard for her customers. She has charged us $500x2 in fines saying there was weed ash on the patio. Apparently the cleaners found a small amount of ash on the railing on a first floor room upon us leaving. It was very windy and easily could have blown there as a smoker was walking by. I spent quite some time trying to explain to her we did not smoke. Actually the guy staying in the room just got drug tested as it's required for a job. I told her I would happily send her the negative results. No thanks she said. When I asked for any evidence at all, or an explanation from someone who saw, or to speak with anyone else she flat out said rudely too bad. It is too bad. We would be spending a 100k there in accommodations this year, and she so stubborn she's losing that revenue because she refuses to listen to reason or explanation of any kind. I will not give this place another cent of our business. Edit: upon looking at inter google reviews, it looks like this place and Michelle is known for just randomly charging people fines for no reason with no explanation. We've been to so many hotels over the years with our employees and never had a fine for any reason. Even though she refused to give me a name or number of anyone above her, I would advise the owner to look into this woman. It seems something deceptive is going on. What a shame. read more

Prices right in the village are pretty ridiculous so we found Pemberton had very reasonable prices (3-4x cheaper!). Everyone was very friendly and the check in/out process was very easy. They even had a heated garage underground which made it easy to bring snowboarding gear in/out each day. Plus we didn't have to get into a freezing cold car every morning. Sadly the ski resort is about 30 minutes away with no traffic and plowed roads. Not too bad, but not the best. For the price, it was definitely worth it with Whistler Village pricing in the $400s per night. There's a gas station, a McDonalds, and a few small restaurants within a block or two of the lodge too. My complaints (which are minor) are that the wifi is very weak. I'm from the USA so my cell phone doesn't get service in Canada. I rely on it for work and other things so when I'm constantly losing connectivity, it becomes quite frustrating. The shower/tub faucet would not turn off completely until you used all your strength. I was afraid I would snap off the knob. And coffee in the main lobby actually cost a little over $2 or so. Usually hotels have complimentary coffee. read more

Stayed here for a Whistler vacation. Location is past Whistler (when driving from Vancouver), so is a little further out of the way, but we saved some good money compared to staying near the resort. The room was clean and to our satisfaction. Sheets were fresh. Parking for our car was underground and convenient to prevent from having to walk in the cold. Staff was friendly and professional. No complimentary breakfast that we were aware of though, so that was a typical thing we missed. The room we had came with a kitchenette so we could have been making our own food. Good option for some people. Would stay here again. read more

Our group had decided to stay here for our vacation in Whistler and ended up booking two rooms, one group staying two nights and us staying one night. Our group all arrived separately, me being greeted by a pleasant blond receptionist and my friends being greeted pleasantly by a guy receptionist. The check-in process was smooth and the receptionists made us feel at home. Both groups went with a deluxe suite and both were large and roomy with a kitchen, pretty much an condo in itself. The air conditioning and heating units was quiet and kept the room at good temperatures. We ended up taking a trip to the hot tub on the first night, and it ended up being freezing due to malfunctions, but the 2nd group reported it was fixed the next day quickly. The elevator also seems to have a mood of its own, and could stand to have some servicing as the security card wouldn't activate sometimes. Overall, up to this point, I would give this hotel an 9/10. The lodge rooms were exquisite and the hotel receptionist/staff were friendly. Then the next morning, everything went downhill. Our group was still going to be in Pemberton, but since we were only staying one night, we dropped off our luggage in the 2nd room and were in and out of the hotel to load our vehicles. We were still loading our vehicles, and in reception was a lady with long black hair, whom we checked out with while we were still loading our gear. Soon after we checked out, she became hostile and declared us non-guests of the lodge, and denied us access to the other group's room even though she saw us moving gear together right before we checked out, citing repeatedly the reason "we take security really seriously here." We had to get a person from the 2nd room to fetch us just to satisfy her security requirements, even knowing us being together with the same group. In all my hotel bookings in my life I've never had such appalling customer service and hostile attitude. Thankfully, when we returned later that night, she was no longer in reception, and the pleasant atmosphere returned. Apparently the staff was a new hire when we inquired about her, perhaps more training ought to be offered to new staff... A great hotel turned sour by insufficient training. read more

Great & clean hotel! Has a kitchen and a great bed! I give this hotel 4 Stars because we checked in last night around midnight and the receptionist wasn't nice at all. Today in the morning the other receptionist was super nice! If you don't have a car, try to go during the day! The bus stop leaves you around 6 minutes walking but you have to do it just next to the road and it doesn't have any or path. The hotel has affordable prices for the rooms considering the high season. I would probably go again! Hoping I don't meet the receptionist from last night! This is a nice-enough place within walking distance of the village, and the staff are friendly. The room was well-appointed, with a good kitchenette. We chose it over other places because it has an EV charger in the outdoor parking lot. The staff did not inform us that you MUST pre-order room service for breakfast (at an extra charge), which caused an inconvenience. The bathroom could have been cleaner, and both the climate control and shower were tricky to operate. I note that one reviewer was told that the front desk could not process refunds. They did process a refund for one night which was accidentally charged when I booked online. read more

We made last minute plans to go to Whistler over the holiday weekend so what wasn't sold out was going at $600 a night. We decide to stay in Pemberton Valley Lodge hoping the it really was only 20 min away from the slopes like it said. Not only was it only 20 minutes on a very well maintained road, it was very well priced at $150/night, full kitchenette, dog friendly, free dvd library, pool, and free garage parking. The modest accommodations are nice and clean with thoughtful touches and nice customer service. We will come back to Pemberton Valley Lodge in the future. The extra gas to commute to the slopes plus $10 for day use parking still saved us money from paying overnight parking for at a village hotel. read more

To avoid the over priced accommodation in Whistler, I stumbled across this place. Four of us stayed in their 1-bdrm suite, which is very impressive. Full kitchen including everything you need, and even a dishwasher and washer/dryer! Upon arrival they had free hot apple cider, and being xmas, had a bag of home made cookies in the room. Big pool, and nice hot tub. If you are looking to visit Whistler, but don't want to pay top dollar check out this place. read more

I would give it 3.0 stars, except that the wifi sucked. Decent spacious rooms, hot tub. Maid service was variable/random ... would change towels sometimes, would make beds sometimes. Good shuttle to Whistler and very convenient. Dining options in Pemberton are just OK. Real pain was the 98% unusable wifi internet over 5 days. Staff is friendly, and would always say they will call the provider and that others have complained, but nothing changed in 5 days. Saw a manager on the 5th day, and she says first she is hearing about any issues - go figure! Service provided by http://www.remcommunicationsltd.com/. If you are headed to Whistler avoid hotels with wifi from this provider REM. Had to go to the McDonalds nearby and they had the connection to get my 60 minutes of work done!!! Great value just a ~20 min drive from Whistler. We do one summer and one winter stay here and always enjoy ourselves. Pemberton has tons to offer and the free shuttle is awesome- just be sure to book the shuttle early. We also love the free bike rental so we can pedal to the Pony for dinner. read more

My son and I stayed 3 nights while on a motorcycle vacation. Nice hotel but it needs some TLC. Room was nice with a kitchen but had some glitches that need to be repaired, ie. shower control, bathroom door lock, TV didn't work. The balcony area was dirty and had not been cleaned in a while. The pool water was cloudy and the hot tub questionable. We relied on internet wi-fi for trip planning and service was poor to non existent. We had to go to McDonald's for internet service. The front desk staff would not answer the phone and when you went down to talk to them I felt like they just want to get rid of you. Tried to blame our devices on poor internet but the worked elsewhere? Has potential to be so much better. read more

The lodge is beautiful, clean and welcoming. Aside from the attitude issues the manager displayed, the staff was exceptionally pleasant. The pool and hottub was a nice addition and very relaxing. The lodge has a few suites that hold everything you need, including a full sized fridge/stove/washer and dryer. This was very handy considering we travelled from Ontario. Do not stay here!! Dirty room: dog hair all over couch pillows, crumbs everywhere; and sunflower seeds on the kitchen floor. My husband and I were relaxing in the room when all of a sudden an employee opened our door and poked her head in! No courtesy knock at all. She just opened the door and she saw my shocked face. My husband was very angry and went to the desk to complain and they just said sorry. Then when he tried to get back in the room, his key had been deactivated!! Also, we saw other guests walking around with robes on around the pool. We did not have robes in our room, so I called front desk and sure enough they messed up again and did not have robes fitted for our room. They said they would bring us some, but no robes. Their excuse: "we have been busy, and all the robes are dirty." They have made no attempt to rectify anything. We have spent $200 a night for this very lacklustre establishment. NEVER AGAIN. The pillows are like rocks as well. read more

It's kinda the only game in Pemberton, so I've stayed several times. Nice staff but poor housekeeping. I took my family this trip and had to ask a couple times to have the hair from previous guests cleaned out of my shower. I wouldn't want to do a black light inspection (ew). read more

$500 extra charge for carpet cleaning First of all I'd like to say that the initial service was excellent and the facilities are more than acceptable. I stayed along with several other people in a two bedroom suite which included everything they've advertised. HOWEVER, my only issue is with their unethical business practice on over charging/extra charges. During my stay at the middle of the night I suddenly felt sick and puked up my stomach contents at edge of sofa bed. The vomit splashed onto part of the mattress and ended up mostly on the carpet. I clean up the mess using the bed sheet to wipe the carpet but there is still a 2 by 2 feet stain that can't be removed. About 1 week later, we were charged $500 dollars for "cleaning fees" and "room damage" I spoke to a manger there and he explain that this is the non negotiable charge for things of this nature. When I mentioned that major hotel chains "Ramada, holiday Inn, Sandman ect.. charge in the $70-$250 range for this sort of stuff he went on to explain that the fee is not only for the carpet cleaning but the charge is so high because they had to throw out 2 sheet, 1 blanket and 2 pillow cases. All of which you can get for under 30 bucks in total at walmart. The same manager failed to pass me to his supervisor and also changed his tone and accused me of threatening his business when I advised him that I will be witting a negative review of my experiences online. Any I forgot to mention that they threw out a pair of pants I'd accidentally left at the room when I checked out. read more
