We bought our late 90s built home in 2012, and it only had a standard (at the time) 6-inches of…read morepink BATT insulation in the attic. So, our furnace has been working harder and more frequently to keep the house adequately heated for the past several winters. We finally got fed up of this lack of additional barrier between us and the cold outside. I was inspired by Consumers Energy offering a rebate check when insulation is upgraded by an approved vendor. I found AEE as the only Gold-star rated, licensed and insured installer in my area and approved by Consumers Energy. They earned their stars and stripes. I set up a free quote with the straight to the point and knowledgeable company owner, John. He explained his recommendations for adding about 11-12in.of fiberglass/wool blend blow-in insulation into the entire attic for a total of 17-18in., as well as having his field manager and caulk expert Mark seal all our windows and doors. He left me with a competitive quote and let me take long as I wanted to think on it and get other quotes. After a few quotes - my gut instinct gravitated me to AEE. I wanted to 'Art of the Deal' a bit with John to bring his quote closer to another competitor's. He was fair in working with me. We struck a deal. His 2-man insulation team came to our home around 10am and worked until about 4-5pm thoroughly insulating my attic. His field manager and caulking expert Mark did a great job sealing all the windows and doors for air leaks in a matter of 1-2 hours tops. They went above and beyond my expectations and were honest fellows. At one point when they realized they slightly undershot the amount of product needed for the job - they went and got more product to complete the job. John was a man of his word - he honored the contract without trying to work in the marginal unforeseen product and labor. They were thoughtful enough to blow some extra insulation into the space above our toddler's bedroom - which is definitely the problem area with our climate control. The workers used slip covers on their shoes and used towels to keep hoses from damaging walls. They vacuumed and cleared all waste after their work. Fast forward a week, and I will tell you that this was one of the best upgrades we have done for our home. The disparity in climate and cold drafts in different areas of our home is way better now. Upstairs is improved, the den stays toastier now, and the kitchen side of our house now holds heat better. A marked difference in the radiant heat comfort throughout the house. It is no placebo effect. The furnace is able to drive the temp up quicker, then the temp holds better and drops slower. So the furnace does not have to stay on as long of duration, and the interim between it firing up has increased. Savings on gas, and less wear and tear on the furnace too! Wish I had done this back when we bought the home. Better late than never. Highly recommend AEE. Just follow the simple steps I detailed above, get the work done, and get that rebate. You will have a top notch upgrade, at a great bottom line price. Two thumbs up!

I had an extensive energy audit performed, indoor air quality check, insulation installed, window caulking, rim joist seal/insulation, thermometer replacement, and various other home improvements. This was after the cost vs. benefit was explained to me with the supporting data. Once everything was completed, they walked me through the utility company rebate and tax credit process to ensure I received the full benefit of all work performed. Ultimately, I made money from the inspection and walked away with a house that was significantly more energy efficient with lower utility bills. It's a shame that it's so rare to find great companies with great people nowadays. AEE (John and Mark in particular) were super professional, friendly, polite, and extremely knowledgeable. It was an absolute pleasure working with them and I was able to learn quite a bit. These guys are not your typical salesmen, they are subject matter experts and come with only the highest of recommendation from me!

The work was done in late 2009, now 2012 is arriving. This was a great investment. My heat and cooling bills are down 16% and thats with adding a furnace to my garage, so the savings are probably higher. I had a perfectionist friend that is experienced in building homes meet with them and inspect their work after completion and he was so impressed that he had them install his insulation. They also added several soffit vents and add two bathroom vent fans along with an attic fan. The work cost about $3,000. I expect my return on investment to be about 6.5 years not including any additional repairs we would have had to do to drywall and other roof repairs. The owner also educated me on the R value of fiberglass and cellulose when used during cold and warm weather.

I used the services of Chris the owner of COMPUTER SYSTEMS REPAIR this August of 2021 to service 2 of my desktop computers (on the older backup I'd already cannablized my 3rd computer that had a burned out motherboard & removed it's graphic's card & RAM to upgade my 2d older computer & downloaded the appropriate drivers & it was working well but the read indicated I only had 8GB of RAM rather than the 16 I'd installed. My primary computer's HDMI port on the graphics card had stopped functioning. I called Chris COMPUTER SYSTEMS REPAIR & he was very friendly & easy to talk with. He answered a question I had that was totally unrelated to what I'd called about, was up front about the cost of coming to my home across town, fixed the problem I was having w/the RAM on my backup computer & told him to let me know when he'd be charging for a 2d hour at which point he told me it'd take another hour to completely make sure the fix for my primary computer's graphic's card was the correct option & he wanted to run some tests at his shop & he could've completed that the same day but asked if it'd be ok if I got my primary computer back the next day, which was fine w/me. He completely resolved the problem with the bad HDMI port on the graphics card plus did a fabulous job resolving the peoblem with the RAM on my 2d computer, & did everything for the cost of 2 hours time including what had to be at least 30 minutes travel one way (I chose to pickup my computer the 2d day) & answered at least a dozen other questions that had piled up over time & all for a total out of pocket of $195. Honestly, I wasn't certain that my problem on my primary computer was even the HDMI port for I was not getting any picture & switched out several cords & was resigned to buying a new desktop for about $1200, so I feel I saved myself $1,000 & now have a knowledgable repair guy who comes to my home for a reasonable price of $45 as I'm in Royal Oak & he is in Mt Clemans. I don't believe he charges for travel time if he doesn't have to go as far as he did in my case, but $45 to come from Mt Clemens is a good deal & I feel I'm as tech savey as the average person, yet he diagnosed & fixed the problems on both computers, oh & switched a hard drive from the cannabilized 3rd computer to insert it into my 2d computer to give me 3 internal hard drives on that computer, & all for a total of $195, which anyone reading this knows they'd have paid a far far more if they'd taken the 2 computers to the Microcenter or the so-called "Geek Squad" at Best Buy or called some other private shop that services office computers & so forth. Chris & COMPUTER SYSTEMS REPAIR was EXTREMELY TECH KNOWLEDGABLE, AND EXCEPTIONALLY gracious, friendly, forthcoming with answers to whatever questions I asked & REASONABLY PRICED. HE IS WHO I WILL CALL FOR ANY FUTURE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH MY COMPUTERS OR THE SYSTEM I HAVE THEM RUNNING ON. ABSOLUTELY 5 STARS FOR QUALITY OF SERVICE, KNOWLEDGE, FRIENDLINESS, SPEED & PRICE.

Fireplace technician Rob Gray was on time as informed when I set up the appointment on line from 7 days prior. Before starting the process of cleaning, camera of inspection then approval, he was kind enough to ask questions about the fireplace being the first time at My Home. He was very knowledgeable and also discussed the types of wood to burn to help out with less creosote in the chimney. Then he talked about moisture levels and those annoying down drafts which I was already aware of. Before I start a fire on a Windy afternoon I open up the door-wall a bit to assist wind. Humor about the company name, I asked employee Rob where was his stethoscope since name of company is Dr. SWEEP! :-) He was cautious with using the backyard and door-wall to bring in his cleaning and inspection equipment plus a tarp on the carpet to prevent dirt or dust. The masonry chimney potential concerns and fireplace concerns worksheet I attached in a photo to state the many steps in the verification of the service! Since My fireplace has a insert and high tech blower system that checked out great and in proper usage. No leaks, no damaged bricks and the 8 inch Flue checked out fine. It was nice to see the camera photos of a shiny Liner! I was pleased in the final process with great results and that the fireplace passed inspection is safe for use again in the Fall. The start to finish cleaning and outside inspection on the roof of the family room fireplace took 1 Hour. Great Service, Details in High Quality and a Good Cleaning price of $269.00. less coupon discount $20.00. Now the outside on the roof of the chimney "Crown" needs to be resurfaced after 25 years of using the fireplace and also waterproofing which I will set up a day and time later on to complete this in September or October. I was glad to find this company in the Dollars Inside Coupon Book and checked on their reviews and used a coupon for $20.00 off the cleaning. I will also use another coupon in the future for 20% off Masonry Repairs. This company has been in business since 1999. What took Me so long to find them to call ? :-) Thank You Rob at Dr. Sweep and the next time I call for cleaning, I will ask for You! Attached are photos of this business with ads, Hours, the set up and cleaning process and the final paperwork of My Home fireplace Spring cleaning project, inspection and Approval to close it up. They are Licensed & Insured #2103219210 Sincerely. Karen N. :-)
