This place was pretty decent overall, but I probably won't be back. I'm not a huge shaved ice fan and this was not enough to make me want more. There was a huge crowd when I went, and very little shade. It's also right next to the road so it can be noisy and a little dirty. That's not a deal-breaker but it's worth noting. However they do have some seating outside and they have games for families. The ice is nice and delicate and melts the second it hits your tongue. There's no large grainy chunks like some shaved ice places. You can also get two flavors in any cup at no charge and there are lots of sizes to choose from, as well as additional toppings and cream and things like that. I chose to do half Margarita and half passion fruit flavor. The flavors were kind of reminiscent of the foods, the margarita especially, but mostly they tasted the same. It's just a base of simple syrup with some vague flavor on top. So it tasted fine, but if I didn't know what those flavors were supposed to be I would never be able to identify them. I think I'll stick to ice cream or something else when I want something cold.

Growing up in NOLa, Mr. Beaux would pile the neighbor kids in the bed of his pickup, and take us all down to Sunny's for Snoballs. Pelican's really brought me up. And, this isn't shaved ice, these are snoballs which require a modified machine to get the ice as fine as it is. Yes there's a difference. The flavors are spot on, all of them, and you can get them stuffed too. My only complaint would be, there is not enough syrup in them, and there weren't any straws for the best part. Fix those two things, and they'll truly be authentic!

Nice little spot right on Canton on across from Kroger. They have a yard with picnic tables with outdoor games like giant connect 4, giant Jenga, ring toss, etc... Only major cons is the direct sun and very little shade. Only shade it at a couple tables with umbrellas. Prepare to roast on direct sun when ordering. Would be 1000x better if they installed some type of awning. I went around 6pm. Also for parents just know there are no public bathroom so prepare accordingly, and there is no fence around the yard so if you have a runner who would dart into traffic, I'd be careful. They are really close to Canton. We will definitely go back though, the games are fun and cheap way to entertain the little ones.

The snoballs here are pretty good. It's nice and soft. The menu is quite extensive and takes a while to read through. But they offer a lot of different flavors. The downside is the lack of indoor seating and air conditioning to keep cool on a hot summer day. If it's to keep overhead expenses down, then those savings don't seem to be passed down to the customers. Because of lack of shading, the snoballs melt pretty quickly while you're playing the different games offered on the lawn. About half way through, it gets a little sloshy and towards the bottom it turns into more of a juice-like drink than shaved ice. I think I would enjoy it more in the spring or fall.

My boyfriend and I just got done hiking near the Chattahoochee river when we decided to find a snowcone place near us. Luckily we came across pelican's Snoballs for some delicious shaved ice. I didn't realize the difference between snowcones and shaved ice until we got here. The shaved ice is so soft and holds a flavor very well. My boyfriend ordered banana coconut and cream , I ordered great pink lemonade and blue raspberry. We really enjoyed the friendly service and cool atmosphere. We played several games and enjoyed ourselves as we ate our delicious shaved ice. This was truly a good experience I can't wait to bring my young nephews here soon!

They have week day specials now! Free upgrade on Thursdays! Great place to treat the kiddos every week, and has games for them to play

    Outdoor sweet icy treats!

We have driven past this Pelican snowball location for years. Today we saw about 10 kids playing games outside and decided to give it a shot. Pelicans is located right on Canton Rd in a free standing home-turned-small-business across from the Kroger shopping center. Parking is in a spacious open private lot, and you walk up to place your order on the front porch of the business. Once you make your Choice of flavors and toppings, you wait to be served. You grab your snowball and head to their private yard to find seating. Today there were four picnic tables with big umbrellas that offered shade, along 4 additional kid size picnic tables, kid sized corn hole bean bag games, an oversized 4 ft connect four game, Jenga, etc. Pelicans sort of offers a kid-version of the same outdoor social vibe as a brewery would have for adults. New friends were made, syrupy sweet snowballs were enjoyed, and it was a great way to cool off. The kids got to run and play, and I spent less than $9 for two snowballs and a water.

My family and I love shaved ice and have been without a place to go for a while, the last place closed without warning. Then Pelican opened up. Family friendly and fair prices with a large assortment of flavors. My favorite is the Georgia Peach. They only have outside seating, but pets are welcome. I highly recommend them.

Reminiscent of a beachside stand, it's nice to see kids playing in the semi-fenced-in yard, and families slurping ices in the shade of umbrellas.

Well shouldn't they advertise they stop service at 9:55 or lock the doors? Sorry when you have kids and see it's open and you enter they have a hard time just as I do with being turned away. I get it - they need to close up but lock the doors and then it's not as big a let down. Kids need to learn let downs I understand but if you advertise closing at 10 lock the doors at 10 but serve those who enter before like most other places. It was disappointing how the staff - young kids were quick to say they couldn't serve us. So I would say bad ambiance and didn't try the snow cones (food) so can't tell you if they taste well or not but probably with staff who don't care about customers then they probably may not make them well but who knows

They have a wide assortment of flavors and combinations to choose from. I have personally ordered the Pink Lady and Blue Bubblegum, which are on the "Taste of New Orleans" section of their menu. The staff has been friendly and really attentive as they make the sno balls whenever I have come here. Sno balls are definitely superior to a regular snow cone and they do not melt as quickly! The true only downfall is that Big Easy is not open year round, but that also makes complete sense of course. Definitely worth a visit!
