I know their food is good as I have eaten here before however this visit I was on my own, a solo diner. Upon arrival I was seated off the main dining area. Ordered scrambled egg tacos & coffee. After 75 minutes & several inquires they basically never placed my order. I received no apology or explanation; the waitress simply tried to re-take my order. Came in for brunch, which they serve on Saturday and Sunday from 9a-2p, I believe. It was very good. I had an egg white southwestern omelette. It came with a side of chips and salsa. My wife had chicken and waffles. She thought the waffles were a little dry but the chicken was good. It was well seasoned. My son had the waffles. He liked them. Went with my family and some friends for Sunday brunch. I had the chicken and waffles. I thought the waffles were a bit on the dry side, but the chicken was very well seasoned and tasty. We stopped into Pelican's on a weekday, when the beach area was actually fairly quiet -- which was very nice! The area around it can be incredibly crowded on weekends, and parking is an adventure. However, during the week, it tends to be fairly quiet. Pelicans is definitely a "tourist" restaurant, and serves fairly standard American foods with some local flavour; its menu isn't that far off what you'd find at a beach restaurant in Miami. Burgers, sandwiches, and the like, mixed with things like plantains and mofongo. The burgers are GINORMOUS, as are the sandwiches, so bring your appetite! read more

So here's the best part, you've been drinking outside, having apps and what not and it's a hundred degrees and humid AF, you walk in and the AC is f'ing dope, you cool off, you feel good, just had some tostones and cheese sticks and my youngest grabbed a burger for the road. I was staying in town and it was close to walk too and everyone was very nice helping me read the menu since I don't speak Spanish . I decided to order the breakfast skillet and they made sure I wasn't allergic to any ingredients inside the skillet. Ok so if you super hungry get the hungry man the French toast are delicious and one meal is enough for like two people depends how much you like to eat. In my experience with my friends everything was going ok up until one of the orders the waitress realized twenty minutes later that didn't have the Spanish tortilla so I asked them when they were thinking of letting us know. Fix your website on FB it stated u r open til 1 am I will never understand as an owner of a vacation house here FOR OVER 10 yrs why business go down but tonight I saw why. After supporting this place over 2 years (hoping it could get better and trying to support the local restaurants) they closed the door on our face at 9:30 pm on a long holiday weekend in January! Even after going the night before for dinner and giving them over $100 trying (and a $20 tip to a non service waitress) to support them after the hurricane. Stopped by on a Saturday morning for brunch and was pleasantly surprised by the service, menu options and overall fell off the place. Nicely decorated with a combination bar signs and beach theme, it does bring memories of Key West. Had the Cubano plus egg and liked a lot the home made bread it was served on. This place was recommended we were a party of 15 the seated us for table of 12 when we reiterated the amount the host pointed us to another table on other side. Service was slow and food was salty most of us ordered the stuffed plantain with seafood....shrimp mahi or combo the combo included octopus nooooo octupos and was vey salty. The skirt steak was served cold. All in all we recognized we were a large party but server was Very unattentiive and didn't come back to see if all was satisfactory. Very rude and disrespectful. Also he had a very unpleasant appearance a long beard which I don't want on someone cooking for me, all that hair can fall in the food. Also very loud. Of all the places I visited I liked this one the best. Even though everything around here moves in "island time" (code for very slowly) and they even go as far as having a sign stating it, in three days it was the fastest, most enjoyable service we received.
